Thanks for sharing. I admire all of the hard work shown to produce your quality batiks. These are true artisans. Thank you all for producing top quality fabric.
Beautiful fabric, they do a fantastic job. Im only a 3 and half hours flight from Bali and have been many times, they are lovely people the Balinese and it is so cheap to buy the Batik fabric there compared to what we pay in Australia.
So here is a question I have . I always wonder if these people are paid a sustainable wage? I asked this question of a very well known designer a year ago. I question if we as a quilting community are missing an opportunity grow in our knowledge of other people of our world.
Can you provide a guide to buying Batik please? What to look for and how to know the Batik is authentic and not just printed fabric. There are so many fabrics in Bali with batik pattens its a nightmare for the untrained eye to know what is good and what is not, and what to pay. Lovely video by the way. Very interesting and well made.
D H - don't know where you are, but we don't pay $25.00 a yard in Florida. But to your point, I do hope they are paid well for they are truly gifted craftsmen & craftswomen.
That is why my Quilt Club all cross over the border to shop in the States for fabric! Our prices here are crazy and we can't afford to quilt unless we shop in the States...sigh...our quilt shops are crazy expensive....even our Fabricland is pricey!
Peace be upon you, my sister. I communicated with you on WhatsApp. Why don’t you respond to me? I have many questions about knowing the wax that printing is done with. Please advise me. Do not ignore my message. I loved your work very, very much.
I absolutely love all of my batik fabrics. I love them even more now that I know how many hands have lovingly made the fabric.

Is impossible not to respect their work, in a condition not many would work.
I have a whole new perspective of these beautiful fabrics!

D H WOW that's crazy! Can you order from the states and get our price or do you still pay more. Or do you have to pay such heavy shipping charges?
If you'd like to watch a video with an explanation of what the process is, here's one: th-cam.com/video/MP-ytzk0f2o/w-d-xo.html
