One thing that has helped me immensely when I’m frantically trying to clean the house while my babies are just there watching tv & playing with themselves Is I stop & remind myself that “IT CAN WAIT” I’ve realized my kids need me to play read sing just give them my time & not just spend my whole day trying to have everything clean & put together ! Also for anyone who struggles finding time to clean try doing it in sections like Mondays kitchen Tuesday bathrooms & so on Lets work on getting rid of all of the unnecessary stress this new year !!
This is so great! I had this mindset when my baby was a newborn up until his 6 months. I was so busy with work and school at home that it took a toll on me. Thank you for the reminder! 💗
You're absolutely right! You can get to the mess later on, but being present and enjoying the moment with your lil ones/loved ones is time that can't be brought back!
“I can feel it in my bones it’s going to be a great year” LIZ!!! 😂 I never watched this video so I decided to click to watch and that’s the first thing you say. 2020 😓
My 4 children are grown but I had and still do - a 20-minute house reset/tidy per night. All the things in my house had a purpose and place it lived. At the age of 2 (with supervision and assistance) they all helped me. Then they did it on their own. They each did their room and were assigned a zone in the house (I switched up the zones to keep it fair). However, in 20 minutes my house was returned to its "normal" state which made waking up and starting the day a lot more pleasant. On days I cleaned, I got right to the cleaning and didn't waste time putting things away. YOu got this!
Great tips! I’m a single twin mom and it can definitely be stressful at times! This year I want to implement a morning and evening routine that I can stick with as well! I created my vision board and I’m really excited!
there is nothing like trying to clean a house with children present! you can't!! mine were whirlwinds and it was constant! so you are so right when you said wait until your baby goes to bed because you seriously can't clean when they are playing, because it is only going to stress you out! play with your kids! your home does not have to perfect all of the time! love your video's you are one of the people that I can relate to! xoxo
When my children were little, I tried to teach them when they are done playing with one thing to clean it up before they got the next thing out. You may or may not want to try this. I just thought I would put it out there.
I did the same, it made my life easier and you are still spending time with your child teaching them a valuable lesson. Try to be consistent with Sebastian eventually he will clean up on his own without you asking him to clean up. You will be amazed! As a teacher and a mom it helps taping a pictures of the toy to the containers, it helps the child identify where the toys goes and it keeps them looking tidy and organized. Best way to teach your child be responsible!
We have done the same! Also, eye level items for kiddos. Our boys love getting their own plates spoons and picking out their clothes. You’re doing great! I do the lighting a candle after I clean a room... well sometimes before lol 😂
Girl, life can truly get us all in a roller coaster of catch up. I live in a tiny house so having too many possessions is something that has truly given me more time. More time to do the things I enjoy which includes doing nothing. It’s a huge commitment having less and my one pleasure is lots of costume jewelry but other than that I keep it simple. Sitting outdoors in the morning is a must. Listening to birds chirping and gradually starting my day is SO good for me. I’m so glad you’re regrouping and you & your family are better. 💕
While I don't have a toddler I do have a 17 year old high school Jr and an 18 year old senior set to graduate in May so my mornings can be pretty hectic ... especially when those 2 aren't in the mood to RISE AND SHINE ... lol ... I have to be at work by 730am each day and their school day starts at the exact same time ... luckily they can arrive a bit early to school ... so I've committed to waking up at 5am to get myself ready without feeling rushed and this allows me to better monitor those 2 while they get ready as well ... it's been working out well and I'm more relaxed and less stressed during our ride in to work and school and once I arrive at work ... I feel ready to get it all done!! Good luck to you on your new commitments!! Also I think I'll start lighting a candle in the evening as well ... you made it look awfully cozy!! Thanks again!
Intentionally NO drama. If i hear it, or see it coming, I pause refocus and move forward towards positivity. Also I've implemented more caring for myself, treating me. More reading too.
This video is just so real. I have 3 kids and I get stressed out often. I always have to tell myself to let go and stop obsessing over the house. One day when they're grown the house will be clean (then I get sad lol). & totally agree about getting more sun. I get stuck at home and forget to go out. Once I do I feel so much better. Sometimes we just get caught up in this TH-cam/Instagram world and want everything to be perfect. That's not life though! Life is fun, stressful, chaos and beautiful all at the same time!
The sheer vanilla is one of my favorite candles! The sent really does fill your room. I agree lighting a candle after cleaning a room is like the icing on the cake.
I really loved this video. You are so genuine and I love that you talk about the realities of motherhood and the importance of being present. Great tips! Happy 2020
So on point with the cleaning. It’s the hardest thing for me to get used to as a mom (of 2) I have to keep telling myself that my kids will remember what I did with them more than they remember that the house was spotless
This video was really relatable. As a mother of three, I really struggle with not using all my time cleaning! It’s so hard because a clean house reduces stress, but then cleaning a messy house all day everyday increases stress! I’m gonna try the black coffee in the mornings too because I totally go up and down from drinking coffee with cream and sugar all day!
I have been watching you for years and have been inspired by you so much over the years. Thank you so much for addressing this. You could easily come on here and act like you have it all together and that cleaning and keeping things tidy is still easy with a toddler, but the reality is that it isn’t. I have a 17yr old an 11yr old and a 3 yr old and I feel like I haven’t had a clean house in 18 years. A sparkling clean house becomes 2nd when you have little ones. Thanks for your tips and honesty.
Omg .. it’s such a great idea that you decided to focus spending more time with your baby than tiding up and cleaning constantly.Awesome.. I am loving the new you.. keep going and enjoy your family life 😘
You’re going to live how you feel!!! I had a cup with cream and sugar in the afternoon as a treat yesterday but I’ve only been having black in the mornings and I swear I get so much done!
Black coffee is life! Try it with an extra half shot of hot water & as you develop a pallet for it you will love it even more. Also try adding spirulina powder to your smoothies, your body and skin will thank you plus it makes the most amazing emerald green liquid! xx
I agree about the coffee, I usually use a sugar and dairy free creamer but when we run out I use cream and sugar and I find I don't enjoy it as much and I dont feel as good !
Yes!! I didn’t notice how bad I felt until I started drinking black coffee on day’s that I fasted and it’s like night and day! I get so much done without the sugar!
Your son was so cute flipping the lid off your storage ottoman. I love just watching those cute moments and the expression on kids faces. They stick in your mind. 💕
I couldn’t agree more about taking the time to be with Sebastian, our daughter turns 38 in July and it seems like yesterday the nurses were placing her in my arms for the very first time. 💗 Take good care!
I have a 15month old and was wondering what other mum do to start the day, so I'm not alone, thanks for the brain dumping idea I go to bed then awake at 1am with ideas running through my mind
My son is 13, I’m newly married and I work full time- yes one to two loads a day helps you keep up!!!! Seriously! It keeps me sane. And you can’t let it build up- you have to put it away immediately otherwise it becomes a problem and that’s not what we are going for-- good news my kid has been folding laundry since he was 8 and can put it away quickly. 🤗
So random, but where is your water pitcher from??? I love drinking room temperature water in the morning, but have been wanting a pitcher I can fill up to pour from each day.
Liz, my days were never the same. Especially after 15 yrs. Being home, I worked and at times worked 10 hrs when overtime was offered. Finally I decided To work midnites and would try to do 2hrs before my shift. So I had to rush to get home in the morning To take the kidz to school. When my oldest was in junior high he had a different school schedule, so I didn't have a break because someone was always in school. Not enough sleep. Now they are adults and raising their own. ...M♡M of 5 plus their 13
Liz I love all of your tips. I no longer have little ones but I can relate to needling sunshine ☀️. I work from home so I don’t go out much and yes sometimes I feel so blah. I need some sunshine. It’s cold in NJ so I just need to open my curtains and sit by the window. You are just a joy, 💗
That's exactly what I was going through with my son. I overwealmed myself with all the things that had to get done and felt so bad my anxiety started kicking in because I could never find comfort in my own home simply because I didn't have it cleaned. But you are right and it's good to remember that the kids grow quickly and it's best to be present because before we know it it's gone. We forget to hit the reset buttons as moms. It's good to take it day by day at a slower paste Xoxoxo
Hi Liz , I can really relate to you.. I like my house clean as well so when my kids were younger in the beginning I used to stress about cleaning all the time ‘ wanted it to be as perfectly organised & clean as before . But then one realises when they go to sleep or nap times one can tidy up then and light a nice candle 💖wish you all the best and nice to see you back hon x
Liz so happy your doing straight black coffee ☕️ My son started it years ago and now he can’t add cream & sugar. At first he put less and less of sugar until he completely achieved and he says now he can taste the real coffee. I like your idea about writing everything down before going to bed 👏 I love glade candles, even there plug in, I definitely have to try that one. I used bath & body but only certain ones because I find myself getting nauseous with certain ones. Thank you for sharing the shake, that will be a plus in my diet 💯
When my son was that age i use to sing the song clean up and have him help me put his toys away then treat him to something he likes. Have him help you and everytime he does tell him how good he is at it. 😊
Liz I actually made it a goal this year also to drink less coffee and drink more matcha lattes instead. I read that matcha gives you steady energy throughout the day.
OBSESSED with this WHOLE vlog extremely inspired and i super respect your suggestions and ideas .. thank you ! I truly needed this . Happy mediums truly destress. perfection .
You should get one of those things where kids can play on it - it’s like a sort of mat, but then you can pull it so it folds in on itself with a string so it’s super easy to tidy up! I’ve seen it advertised on facebook quite a bit haha
Love when you share your tips!! Candles definitely set a mood. I am focusing on purging and organizing this year. When your home is decluttered I feel more calm. Plus it always keeps stress down when you know where things are.😉
I also wash a load of clothes a day if I can to make things easier. Also trying to incorporate few more healthier habits into my lifestyle which will help me relief extra stresses like working out..walking things like that. Also I pick up few times through the day depending on are but I also let my toddler help me so he gets in the habit of cleaning up after himself. I also need to disconnect from phone at a descent time(gotta work on that). Thanks for sharing
I started Zone Cleaning this Helps me to stay On Top of Things & Be More Organize its working so far lol Liz, I can't Believe Sebastian, is going to be 2 years old Wowza How Time Flys I wish I can drink black coffee I've tryed No Way lol I give You Props Girl God's Blessings...
This- I definitely need this. Except having the mess out like that. I live with my in laws for now and they don’t appreciate my daughter’s mess. Since she has no toys in the house, she plays with whatever she can get and it looks like a hurricane passed through and I hear it. Here’s to our own place in 2020.
Hey Liz ♥️ you might want to also consider having Sebastian start helping you pick up his toys now that he’s getting older. You could make it like a game and I’m sure he would love it. 🤗
We are working on that 😁 he did really good the other day but he thinks it’s like a “let’s keep doing it” game so he picks them up them dumps them back 🤣🤣
Oh my 2 year old still does that! He will dump it again 😂 so annoying but cute lol then i ebd up cleaning again after he sleeps. I will follow your ideas thank you so much. I needed that reminder
I have to reduce my sugar intake. My Starbucks trips are less frequent like maybe I go 1 every 2 weeks and that's a treat. I gotta have my chai tea lattes lol good for you hun. Baby boy is almost 2...it doesn't seem like it💙
I love that you are doing this and I definitely feel like I need to implement a lot of this to my life it’s so needed and thanks for the videos they have Been so helpful 💕
Girl.... you would love this new candle from bath and bodyworks. You'd even love the candle color. Its fab. Lookup pink lilac vanilla. And it's pretty much in the color 'mod and about you' ...Yahh welcome hunnny!! 😎😄😘 #pinkyUp 💗

TOTALLY helps to take cleaning in chunks. I do two rooms Monday- Wednesday Thursday and Friday I'm relaxing and having fun with my girls

So realistic and I love that, thank you for not perpetuating the idea that you have to have a huge list of BIG goals, the little things add up!

What a beautiful little boy! Great idea about letting the living room be free until he goes to bed. Realistic goal!
Thank you 🥰

Liz! You can use agave sweetener and coconut milk in your coffee. Tastes delicious and it’s better than regular creamer
Always share the best tips and advice 💜💜

This- I definitely need this. Except having the mess out like that. I live with my in laws for now and they don’t appreciate my daughter’s mess.
