Selenium is not a tool... Its a Jar.. Its a programming language.... That is why it open source... And if you will use any tool u will be charged some amount. So why client invest money on tool if we can do automation in programing language in java selenium or other...

Not All companies conduct Aptitude Test it depends on the various factors like if they have urgent requirement they may not conduct written Test, it depends on the company.

Companies are moving towards to cost cutting in terms of apps as well.. Open source is preferred .. everyone wants free. So paid ones are only used after money as first parameter while estimating cost and profit
selenium with cucumber BDD is one of worst and useless automation framework. worked in 3 automation projects...it does not cover major business scenarios and very much stressfull work and slow..difficult to maintain as Web UI keeps changing very often...instead of wasting time by making testers to code...another software itself can be built...i dont know why industry ask for selenium cucumber
I worked as a python with cucumber BDD for 1 year then automation tester for SAP with SAP internal tools, how can I switch job now, any technologies to be learned to switch
Browser is *one* technology, Tosca can automate 150+ technologies, including SAP, etc.
Selenium/WebDriver can only do browser.
Tosca can't replace selenium.
There are many AI based tools which can but it takes lot of time as the tools are expensive.
