As a history student its difficult to come across history books that shed a broad narrative of Shehu Omar Futio Taal, in most cases their narratives is tailor cut to his jihads and struggles. I am happy to note that his parents from both sides were descendants of Mam Masamba Thiam (Cham)
Doing a research on this great man Mam Masamba Thiam was humbling and a chronology of Mam massamba could be found in the World Historial Dictionary way back in the 15th century, He was a Cheiff from Syrria and way ahead of his generation.. I use to pride myself with the attribution 'ndow borom ndukuman', not anymore it is Cham borom Halwar
