Would love to see the 1994 (Miss America 1995) telecast with Heather Whitestone. i have seen the clips but would love to see the entire show if you upload. Do you also have the dancing through the decades clip from this one? It was a great production.

This year's 75th pageant in my personal opinion of course is especially notice as having among the best talent that was ever in the pageant and not just in the top 10. If you checked out the tape for preliminaries and talent for this year's pageant and watch Lisa bannford from North Carolina on the piano, I thought that Marjorie Judith Vincent fantasy impromptu that she did when she won as Miss America 91 was absolutely stunning. Then I saw Lisa bamford and I'm still speechless. Also Amanda Moody was another talent winner who also did not make top 10 and I believe that she was a 19 year old from Utah also playing a very complex piece that I had not heard before or seen on that stage and tapes or live finals night. But what Lisa bamford does with her piano performance just when you think she can't possibly go any faster and any more accurate and with the most excellent fingering techniques she suddenly like ups to the 10th degree and then gets even better.
Also I thought it was interesting on the Miss America organizations part to have as the preliminary judges I think there are eight preliminary judges no six pulmonary judges that year and four of them were former Miss America's. And of course we know how important the preliminary interview is as part of the preliminary composite score and ultimately getting the job is Miss America. And when you have and I'm sorry I'll take all of the criticism that people want to throw at me but you know a scholarship talent pageant such as this or scholarship foundation should not be political or religiously or socially motivated and who the winner represents in a certain part of society. Namely for example the conservative right. I thought that Shantel Smith was definitely a beautiful redhead very comfortable on stage I thought that for a Barbra Streisand song she actually did it pretty well and that's usually a real big risk in the Miss America pageant. Of the five finalists interviewed by Regis she was the only one giving eye contact straight at the judging panel not just when she was answering her question but while others were answering their questions. And that apparently does go a far away. However when you if anybody out there knows you the for preliminary Miss America past winners were that were the preliminary judges that did the interviews and preliminary talents from soon, and you have Debra Barnes, Debbie Maffet plus I think it might be Marion Conway from South Carolina she may have been one as well I can't recall who the fourth one was and if people want to discuss this with me and give me some insight and help me change my mind around I'm open to it but when that organization relies on a lot of it funding from schools like Liberty University and lots of conservative schools as well as politically connected conservative religious affiliations- and in Shawntell's interview question for her school to work platform, although it's admirable and definitely something that is an important part of developing our nation. Most of that has to do with red tape in politics the education department and other things that hold people back from being able to go right into the workforce after school for several reasons. And her answer was towards the end and maybe I'm the only one that noticed this but I kind of job add this type of program can be the program that can get people off of the federal welfare program and making our nation better as a whole is I believe what she ends with. Now getting off of the federal welfare rules which is a big Congressional policy movement after newt Gingrich came into office in 1994 among the conservatives to try to get people off of wildfire that didn't deserve in certain people's minds to be receiving food stamps and welfare that has nothing zero absolutely zero to do with what a kid need as far as inspiration and guidance in the form of School counseling after going from school and getting into a job that actually pays a living earning wage to put a roof over his head. Now I was blown away by the top five finalists questions and answers given by Hayes of Illinois the first one about the juvenile court system. And citing see ever coupes public health suggestion towards handling juvenile offenders. That's something that can definitely have resonated with both sides of the aisle in Congress and these women that win the Miss America pageant not only go to schools in the middle of America they do actually speak in front of state and federal legislatures. Also Emily Orton the first runner up a mere 19 year old who had that fabulously unbelievable talent, her question regarding the mentoring and not ever imposing one's own beliefs on to the mentee but rather helping them develop the tools to develop their own decisions was spectacular. That's the nuts and bolts of what makes a mentor a good mentor. The next year after this, a double preliminary winner also like Emily Orton, a Miss Oregon- Patricia Leines- who although completely shocked at winning her preliminary swimsuit proved on finals night extremely well at why she won her preliminary swimsuit because she was of all of the swimsuit finalists as clearly the most comfortable and photogenic- the camera loved her.
She did a great job with her version of Donizetti's daughter of the regiment - which she was also a preliminary talent winner for.
One other contestant that year was also a double preliminary winner, Miss Hawaii. I'm not sure if the fiasco disaster during the swimsuit competition with her Cape over her suit not coming off until the escort had to tear it off brought her scores down so low that she didn't make top five or whether she never would have made top five we'll never know.
But I am almost certain that just like the previous year is Miss oregon, Patricia also had mentoring as her platform. I really thought that she would have won over Tara Holland eventual winner. Granted Tara did an amazing talent even though she was in a prelim talent manner because she hit that high c during the Indian Bell song and was a preliminary swimsuit when our belief. However in looking at her interview in the prelims it looked like she aced that.
But we also know that she was originally from Florida I was never winning this Florida and purposely moved either to Kansas City Missouri or Kansas City Kansas to be able to become a Miss Kansas and that's the only way that she was able to get to nationals. In my opinion is Patricia Linus had been a more firmly spoken advocate of her platform and answering her question to Regis she would have won. And should have won. I found terror to be a little too solicitous with regards to having that audio tape and book or maybe it was a videotape and an audio tape for illiteracy.
That seems a little too tacky for me in 1997 or actually anytime. Talk about the platform not about some audio tape that somebody who is allegedly illiterate is going to somehow be able to read on the box is something that he can actually listen to to be given guidance on how to learn to read. That didn't make sense to me maybe I'm a little confused by that but nonetheless getting back to 1996 I've looked into the history of and background of Deborah miles endeavor method and knowing that to ever method initially was at Lamar University in Texas before she had her nose job in plastic surgery to win as Miss California and Miss America and her conservative background as well as Deborah Barnes miles and her involvement with a Christian fundamentalist church as the choir director and you know it's just always and if anything when you bring in people even though they are previous Miss America's and they are giving guidelines as to how to vote and judge each contestant individually you never know when something is going to be politically motivated. Two things stick out in my mind the year the terrordon Holland one every single contestant behind her barely gave I mean it was the worst clapping they clearly wanted either Erica Schwartz from Louisiana to win or somebody else. Miss Texas who is the top 10 finalists semi-finalist I mean that year is seen behind Tara as she's being crowned and looking painfully going through the clapping routine. And then I also remember in 1999 after Kate shuttle had won the previous year what I think is still a scandalous win over Miss North Carolina because of the fact that Kate kind of had an inside favor and the fact that her dad Gordon was on the border directors for over 20 years of the Miss America organization. And he had resigned conveniently or coincidentally within a year before Kate entered her first preliminary in Illinois even though she grew up in New Jersey. So Kate's crowning Nicole Johnson in 1999 who went to I believe it was Liberty University could have been reading University I think it was Liberty. That again is what I hear lots of my state pageant friends and state pageant director of friends say was clearly a financially motivated when to heck with the diabetes awareness they know where their donations were coming in to keep the organization running and it was from the religious right. And that's truly a shame that somebody has to get asked questions about or or declare in a preliminary interview that they are a Christian or that they believe in God or what their personal opinion is on something like abortion rights which would have nothing to do with a platform and which is something that really Miss America shouldn't be involved with when that's a political Congressional and judicial issue. This is in my opinion at the sake of trying to make money by giving religiously connected winners the title they will probably never be a Muslim as America. Who could very well be one of the best. We'll never know though. Just my thoughts

All the ladies were beautiful but the one who stood out to me for not just looks but speaking voice and presence was Miss Hawaii.
Someone mentioned Miss Oklahoma won and I did love her hair. I would be surprised if Miss Hawaii didn’t at least make the finalists round
