Nick had the hackles up when he started this interview but the interviewer came in with a level of understanding of his work and some seriously thought provoking questions, resulting in one of best Cave interviews of the contemporary era. Kudos.
I can’t ever remember seeing Nick laugh, it was worth the wait. Thanks for being a fan or doing your homework or both, it makes for an amazing interview mate. Cheers.
Good Interview. These are not stupid questions, and Nick is very forthcoming. He does not suffer fools, but here he need not worry.I enjoyed this very much. Thanks for uploading!
Het is en BLIJFT een lieverd!! En ik vind zijn "grinderman" albums geweldig. Maar hoeveel kennis heeft hij over Bands als "Metalica en voornamelijk" een artiest als Glenn Danzig.?
I have no problems following stories that Nick Cave tells. Much like Bob Dylan or Tom Waites, it might be up to us of what we make of it. Once it's out there it no longer belongs to the artist, it's ours.
Great interview. 4:27 "Suddenly, there was this lovely absence of the guitar.". However, the entire album is laced with Warren's Signature Tenor Guitar. bit.ly/19XJ93i
Yes but does he still wear beetleboots or Doc Martens, for me Grinderman is like a pair of UGG boots, it keeps your feet warm. The point where ma mind was altered by Nick Cave was when he stood over Kylie Minogue with a house brick in one hand and a rose in the other, I'm not sure if it was the intercourse or Mother Day, it scared me.
Nick Cave-Christopher Lee, ha ha. If you the reader don't know of Christopher Lee, I suggest you 'sink your teeth' into the Hammer movies of the late 50s to the 70s. Happy bloody Valentines day...2/5/2019
I would not. I don't think Miley has a sense of irony. + Plus - she's got huge Daddy Issues... I think I'd just be horribly depressed listening to it; there's really no other angle I can think of.
Nick's hair for once looks horrendous. And why is he holding a toothpick? And the nervous laugh he keeps doing is just downright creepy. Still, Nick is my number one love.
Kev Kearney I think he did a fairly good job.. he brought Mr Cave out to a point where he seemed comfortable speaking about his thought process while putting his songs together. I enjoyed his explanation of Higgs Boson Blues. Yeah, I quite liked this interview.

Nick is so wicked, he has TWO widow's peaks.
I can’t ever remember seeing Nick laugh, it was worth the wait.

Cheers.
He’s incredibly shy and reticient around people he doesn’t know. If you watch some videos, when he is with people he knows, he smiles and laughs more…
Good Interview. These are not stupid questions, and Nick is very forthcoming. He does not suffer fools, but here he need not worry.I enjoyed this very much. Thanks for uploading!
Yes
ok settle down
Oh god, when he said push the sky away feels like being perched on a cliff face about to fall off I shuddered
yeah.... me too
Yeah that comment is incredibly difficult to hear considering what happened to his kid Arthur 2 years later…
Nick cave seems more cheerful in this interview than the past.. great to see he’s a legend one of the best lyricists of all time
such a cool guy, met him backstage at a show in Sydney a couple of years ago.
this man is a musical genius.
I saw The Boys Nextdoor in Adelaide....I was about 16 and thought Nick Cave looked like a vampire.
" went to the radio interview... ended up alone on the microphone."
John Shane Neil Young
...get out of town...think I"LL get out of town...
It's one of his ,,hiding songs'' actually
follow the road ...don't know where it ends
I love what he's saying at 14:50. I agree completely.
8:51 unsettling metaphor
truly
Great interview. Well done!
Amazing songwriter.
Insightful interview. Loved it.
His laugh is infectious
What a great interview and what a guy!
Thought this was a great interview. Much more insightful than others
whatever
this is probably the first time i've seen a Nick Cave interview where he gets confused with the visual artist Nick Cave.
How does he look so cool holding a toothpick!? God damn! 😍
Jessica Rae well, it’s uncle Nick. He can make everything cool😉
Jessica Rae greetings from the Netherlands by the way😉
9:00......... foretelling and a bit chilling
Obsessed with his rings
uncle nick is my favourite uncle!!!
Nick Cave is The MAN !!!
That is a great interview.
I am obsessed with his lips. Want to kiss them
he shud write a song about the other nick cave
a brilliant suggestion
The other Nick Cave and the other the other Warren Ellis should do a collaboration
Het is en BLIJFT een lieverd!! En ik vind zijn "grinderman" albums geweldig.

went to the radio interview...ended up alone at the microphone....
cold burn on the song request....
Funny Games is a great disturbed flick!
What a great interview.
Great indeed, but he likes "The broken wing type".
I am sorry but have a life!
Angelique Hoegee
Your comment makes zero to nil sense.
Angry Bird are you?
On the Beach, fuck yeah!
Both his guitarists (Blixa and Mick) left the band
What's with the interviewers face after he asks a question?
Wondered about that too! 😆
He is incredibly honest and open.

Floating around... in space.
Does the gitarr rythm in in the intro of Neil Young - On the Beach remind anyone else about the gitarr rythem of Higgs Boson Blues?
I don’t know I don’t listen to Neil Young
It does!
Nick cited that as a top 10 track
Great interview. 4:27 "Suddenly, there was this lovely absence of the guitar.". However, the entire album is laced with Warren's Signature Tenor Guitar. bit.ly/19XJ93i
I think that he means that Mick was gone and that was a good thing, at least Ithink he thought that at the time.
I got the two Nick Cave's confused for a while at first, as well.
No way there is another Nick Cave!
Anybody knows the kind of watch he's wearing?
AAM Its a Nixon Lodown Ti (although I’m guessing you got the answer by now since it’s been a few years).

He missed the guitar player. The guiter played didnt miss.
omg nick stop playing with that toothpick, will you
Good on Mick for leaving this band at just about the right time.
Lies
Fear nick
Thumbs up for video. Thumbs down for all comments.
Ha Ha Ha! some clever humour great interview i'm a big fan :-)
Dr Seuss
lo stuzzicadenti!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wiglet?
cant tell....
Would love a Miley and Nick Cave duet
I would not.
I don't think Miley has a sense of irony.
+ Plus - she's got huge Daddy Issues... I think I'd just be horribly depressed listening to it; there's really no other angle I can think of.
That's why I murdered my Guinea pig when I was a child it made me feel small.
Don't get away from your narrative songs Nick. The Carny is the best song you've ever written.
Amen brother
Nick's hair for once looks horrendous. And why is he holding a toothpick? And the nervous laugh he keeps doing is just downright creepy. Still, Nick is my number one love.
Toothpick could be a quit smoking thing
Heh... "economic"... ;) $$$
He has a lot less to say than he used to.. I still Love Nick Cave, but he's passed his prime.
Brad Wilmer
This man will never pass his prime!
;)
I´ve always found Nick an incredibly pretentious, pompous , insufferable character ... " what am I doing in here ? " ... indeed , later!
The interviewer is amongst the worst i have ever seen, he is constantly off the mark and doesn't get Nick Cave and the bad seeds.
Kev Kearney I think he did a fairly good job.. he brought Mr Cave out to a point where he seemed comfortable speaking about his thought process while putting his songs together. I enjoyed his explanation of Higgs Boson Blues. Yeah, I quite liked this interview.
Great interview very good at getting Nick to give a deeper explanation
I really don't think so.
I think the exact opposite Nick seemed to engage more when the interviewrrs questions make sense
(y) Nick Cave _ brilliant lyricist - musician (y)
