I guess they didn't even care about it... they had the girls, fame, heavy radio airplay, money and success... just everything what sooooo many thrash metal bands never got, and that's why bands like metallica got mad about glam bands
I really doubt that Metallica went out to see Poison! If they did go an see them, it was to make fun of them. Lead singer of Ratt even admits that Metallica had a hatred for these bands.
Thrash metal bands used to hate Glam...for them "Glam" meant "Gay L.A. Metal"...it was a derogative way to refer to that style, but thrashers have also admitted that everything was pure competition because for them was much harder to get a record deal and get girls...anyway, Metallica SUCKS nowadays.

As for girls you cant argue that the glam bands probs had more action but who gives a fuck lol thats not what music is about. Metallica(apart from you know what albums) and all the great metal bands etc will live on in the hearts of many as legends because its pure metal, which is perpetual. The glitz and glam of the hair metal of the 80s, as much as i love it aswell, was overdone and just a trend that faded out. Real rock will always live on.

There was no mass outcry against glam metal - it just stopped getting airplay. This media phenomenon carried over to movies, TV, and all other forms of media. Music companies are just arms of the same companies that make movies and television.

I was there and the feeling was fresh air (RHCP and JA were paving the way before Nirvana).
