- Many people thing pilot training is very hard, but is it really that difficult to become a pilot?

It’s not hard but if you work full time it can be rough at times.
Student Pilot here- my first lesson was not comfortable. My instructor was so tense and impatient with me, and would talk my ear off. I am not giving up on my dream ! Thank you for this encouragement!

If your instructor was already so impatient on just your first lesson, you should probably get a new instructor.

I feel like you should look from your instructors pov. If its your very first time im sure he's a lot more stressed than you Idk alot about patients ina life or death situation tbh.
I have many doubts and fears but your words made me very comfortable I swear thank you .I will work hard am preparing to study Aviation .I just came Toronto from middle east and my English isn't that great but I'm willing to work hard . They told me I need some courses to finish which are math ,physics ,chemistry and English gr12 all university levels. I don't think am smart enough but I know I have passion for it also I want to make my parents proud of me .
Working hard towards your dream is already a huge part on getting there!! You got this!
But in canada you do not need maths and physics and neither chemistry as your highschool subject to apply for pilot school. Literally anyone with good English can go for the pilot school.
actually I know English, i meant i can understand what other people are saying and know how to write and know how to read but my speaking is not fluent. Is that okay?

That’s ok! All you need is practice. And you’ll get a lot of that once you get here :)
Usually to work in major airlines you need at the least a level 4 english . If you are struggling with level 4 you need to lear more as atc instructions are very quick and abit unclear . Sometimes there are accent so it will make it worse .

Quick question, I’ve been flying since I was a kid in 2016 (I’m currently 22) and have yet to finish my PPL (spotty training and big gaps), had some time off the past few years for personal reasons but finally got back to it, any tips for retaining information over a long time if you’re not using it all the time? I’m finished my ppl written and going towards ppl flight test soon and feel like I constantly forget the ppl written content. Is there any resources you use to keep up with your knowledge? I really do enjoy doing practice tests to keep up with knowledge, do you have any online resources you’ve found that have these?

Hey Pedro, Im currently working on my CPL in Alberta. Great video. Personally i have found that if you are truly passionate about becoming a Pilot, studying and mastering all the subjects associated with flying is very enjoyable and you should strive to learn as much as you can. Sad to say, but if you don't like learning and studying aviation related topics, you should'nt be a Pilot.

I just went thru meteorological lesson on ppl. Its was pretty hard for me from all what i was studying .When u start its no going back. Its nothing really hard in aviation. As not native speaker its sometimes difficult to learn something but everybody has goodle so u always can find an answer there. For people who cant sit in class, do online ground school such as king ppl school. They will help u step by step, and they have quizzes to help u with learning)

I'm considering doing flight school in canada and the exact same things are going through my mind- heard drop out rate is 80% , and I never excelled in school-

I got my CPL in Chile in 2019 in my 36s; I got my MCC & ELT training for the Airbus A320 approved with 98% in addition to my position as a Sales & Support Manager at Airbus in Chile (7 years of professional experience in aviation), unfortunately when the opportunity arrived (apply for an airline) the pandemic started and my dream to become a Pilot was frozen... Now I am in Vancouver (starting over again from zero and applying for my PR). Do you know any case about the Commercial Pilot conversion? I know that it is possible because both are ICAO members, but I don´t know if any flight school is available to offer that program (in addition, I would also like to take the FI rating course). Apart from that, my main problem is the age, now I'm in my 40s, and that is probably my main obstacle to starting a career here... please any case that you listened about the CPL conversion process with T. Acha que Canada é um bom pais pra fazer a flight school? Moro em portugal mas fico em duvida entre fazer aqui pela europa msm ou ir para os eua ou canada.
Eu acho que entre Canadá e Estados Unidos. O Canadá é uma opção muito melhor.
