Sorry but to me this is a disgrace, you are making licensed electricians who have never done anything wrong prove they are still worthy of holding a license, what ever happened to "you are innocent until proven guilty" We are having to prove we are capable with out ever doing to suggest we aren't capable And to make it worse you involve everyone else except the electricians in this new scheme, you speak to peak bodies (who ever they are) but not to the actual electricians We had a license for life as long as we renewed it on time, this has changed with zero consultation with electricians It's a disgrace
What the hell has happened to Victoria in the last ten years that I've been gone? Has the flood of immigrants dropped the standard of electricians? Why is this necessary? Or is it just another stinkin cash grab? Last I checked there's still only 3 wires, 5 if you have your big boy pants on..
Here's how it works Paul... when it comes to the electrical industry in the Socialist Republic of Victoria these are the main stakeholders: 1. State Labor Government (Andrews and D'Ambrosio) 2. ETU 3. WorkSafe (but they are only any good when the Inspectors follow instructions... which they do because in many cases they are ex union organisers) 4, ESV (note, the ETU used to hate ESV but now they love them because it is riddled with ex WorkSafe senior managers) 5. The workers a distant last Note this publicly funded video has given free time to Troy Gray to allow him to make the point that the ETU is the biggest player in this caper Before the last election they leaned on Andrews and D'Ambrosio to implement this program and it is likely that the ETU is a big winner as a training provider (Future Energy Skills) to deliver the CPD program... according to the governments own webpage they have invested $75m of taxpayers money into this www.premier.vic.gov.au/upskilling-bright-sparks-electrical-workforce Everything in Victoria is designed to ultimately take money from a certain sector of the public and feed it to a select few stakeholders But at the end of the day, they are all socialists... and like all socialists, they are geniuses until they run out of other peoples money... and interest rates alone will ensure that day isn't too far away But don't worry, it isn't all bad, in a few years you will be able to catch a train from Cheltenham to Box Hill on the GWE (great white elephant) line
