    Hello Shostring
Your happy again on your travells
My wife and I spent several holidays in Denmark one on our honeymoon
I am a rail fan mainly the technology
I noticed the continuous rail on main lines are made up of 40ft lengths welded into cwr continue welded rail some older 40 ft lengths marked early 1900's think 1914 made by Krup of Germany
Nearly all are on concrete ties, rail shoes and panorail type clips, this makes the rail, ties and with ballast replacement automated and tampers all can be done in one pass to line speed
Thanks from the UK for your informative intresting travel videos

That rail was made in Steelton, PA. It say's Beth because Bethlehem Steel used to own the plant. It is now owned by ArcelorMittal who still makes rail there. It's not far from me. Just South East of Harrisburg.

Shoestring (and others who commented about how the audio sounds): @4:20, is a good example of what's going on. The active (background) noise is so loud, the little computers "confused" about what's background noise and what's real voice. The noise of the train is very loud and it's trying to attenuate it. But, notice how when Shoestring says "Another ethanol train". His voice is clear despite the very loud noise of the passing train about 30 feet away. The background noise reduction circuit is doing it's job. If it were not, Shoestring would have to yell over the noise of the train in order to be heard in the video.
When he isn't talking and the sound sounds like it's underwater, the circuit is continually saying, "I hear background noise. I must attenuate it. But it's so loud! Maybe I should let some through. Should I filter it out? No, I'll let some through. No wait, it's background noise. I should filter it. But is it? I hear background noise. I must attenuate it. But it's so loud!..."
It's going it's job and we heard his voice clearly when he spoke. :)

The big IM yard was just west of North Baltimore, OH. It was *massive* with 7 gigantic cranes brought in by water from Germany. Precision Scheduled Railroading put an end to the yard.

Likikng all those older rail box boxcars parked. Kinda remember when those looked brand new in late 70s as they came by on an older CNW line that used to go through Valeria Iowa where I used to live at and that line ent between Des Moines and Marshaltown. A bike trail is now where the tracks used to been at

I really enjoyed this video, Id say its one of your better ones. You got some train footage some story telling and I learned about some plants. was a good mix. Id like to hear about all the different jobs you've had in your life and how long you stayed at each and why. Also, how long were you in school? are you mostly self educated? you seem to have a wide range of knowledge.take care
