I stand with the farmers!! #wearenotAmerica #keepourfoodsafe
Tell them to get on with the farming then. We are starving and we have money but there's nothing growing on the farms
Farming is very hard working…grateful 🙏
What is the difference between inheritance tax on farms and any other inheritance tax? I would also like to know about the impacts from other factors such as the middle men taking the profits, the loss of subsidies from EU etc. What was the overall impact of Brexit?
The big difference is that in order to pay the inheritance tax, many famers will not have anywhere near enough liquid cash to pay it, as the returns on producing food don't provide enough surplus to build up such reserves. The only option then is to sell off some of that land, which then makes the farm smaller and therefore less productive. When a famer dies, his offspring don't overnight become richer, all that really happens is a change of management. It can take several generations to build up a viable farming business, this tax will in many cases kill off those businesses overnight.
I understand also that Britain apparently has some of the highest inheritance taxes anywhere. At least from what I have read. Good luck to the Farmers!!
We need a level fair playing field when it comes to TAX here in the UK, that’s for sure.
Saw lots tractors through York other week it’s their land farms machines without them we’d be like America ♥️🇬🇧🇬🇧support the farmers
And 85% of them won’t be affected by this tax only the richest farmers will be affected
Facts not feelings
@@GraemeRoberts-i2vYes but the right wing media and rich boys like Clarkson don't like the fact Labour are trying to tax those that can afford it.
Zero sympathy. They still have better rates than the rest of the population. This will bring land values down, which will help them in the long run. They can avoid the tax altogether if farms are handed down in a timely manner, and even if they don't, their bill is 50% less than that of non-famers, with a much higher threshold and they'll have 10yrs to pay it. Their anger is completely misdirected. They should be angry at the supermarkets and food production companies that pay them so little for what they produce. We're not subsidising them, the supermarkets or big business any longer. And I am not a Labour supprter and have never voted labour.
Taking emotion out it - all the government had to do to avoid this is exempt people who declare like 90%+ of their income to be from agriculture/contracting from the agricultural industry in a tax year.
It takes care of the reasonable concern over tax loopholes while protecting actual farmers. It's such an easy compromise....
Alternatively raise the inheritance threshold significantly, farmer are generally asset rich but cash poor.
Get the slurry tankers out
This government need to UTurn on this dreadful Inheritance tax on our Farmers, they are the lifeblood of this Country, they work all the hours god sends and it’s so unfair, the Government needs to realise this before it’s too late, if ever we had to rely on other Countries for our food or energy we would be at the mercy of those Countries, look what happened with Russia and their energy supplies, too many relied on Russia for their energy!!
Stop being hysterical, the farmers aren't suddenly going to all pack in. It only affects a small percentage. And most farmers know it.
Wah! Wah!. I'm a farmer I'm a special case, Sob, Sob, I don't want to pay tax like everybody else. Moan moan, please support me in ripping off the taxpayer.
Wah wah I’m a knob. I haven’t a clue and I’m repeating incorrect comments I’ve read other people write.
Remove all Inheritance tax. Have a good relationship with US. Remove mega Chinese embassy. Save UK.
Support the farmers 🏴 MPs are utter pondlife
why this goverment is arogan? perhaps they think england have alots of diamonds.
