"I was too lazy to put a tap in the machine..." is the #1 reason threaded holes get buggered up in machine shops! I can't tell you how many parts I screwed up because I literally didn't want to go through the rigamarole of finding the tap, finding the right tap collet, finding a tool holder, etc. Good to see you back in action!
Good to see a new video! I really appreciate your video style. Using coolant and not putting music over the machine working. Hearing the cut is an important part of knowing what a proper cut or tool path sounds like. 👍🏻 Thanks again
@@ThisDesignedThat You can do this type of 3+1 with the standard F360 license (~$350/yr). The expensive machining extension is only required for simultaneous 4 axis moves.
I'd love to see more resin printed injection molding work, most of all. also interested in getting better at cnc-mill with freecad if possible, diy edm, diy cnc-lathe but definitely do whatever interests you!
It's Harbor Freight's Rust-Cutting Resin Abrasive Tumbler Media, which is the green media. It's gentler than other media, so takes a while. But I really like the finish.
Great video thanks for posting. what was the total length of your stock and did you get much chatter? I have a piece of stock I need to machine on my 4th axis that is 3.75" in length with no tail stock so I am wondering if the stickout will cause me some problems. What material are you using in your tumbler?
thank for uploading ....great video .....i think this is easy part..you did waste so much material .... i can make 4 at a time in 2 setups in 3 axis ....no need 4 axis ...... but like if you have it then you should use it like this ....thank you
I think… I recognize the the panel…. but the ASI markings and spoiler labeling is throwing me off a bit…. It’ll be like pulling off a bandaid… but worth it in the end. Good luck with all that wire “nesting” A man with the patience of Jobe you are. ;)

Happy to see you again! Another nicely done video, always enjoy your work.

John. You do what you find interesting as we will too. Long time no see but great video.
Ohhhh boy. A new panel! That’s a project!! Can’t wait to see it finished out!
Have a wish list along those lines myself.
Best.
I was wondering when someone would recognize what that was. I'm doing much of the work myself and plan to talk about what I've learned.
Hi John,
Great video with 4th axis you've got there. Every time I see your 4th I wanna buy one. One day... Cheers
Good to see you back.
One of the things I like about your channel is its has all the bumps and twist of real life.
Thanks for the video, fun little project
Wow, you work on top of this? I assumed (incorrectly obviously) that you were retired, or only working on this stuff full time!
So good to see a new video from you, I'm a big fan of your content. :)
Great work, 4th axis makes these type of job so much easier! I need to figure out how to get one setup on my hobby machine now!
A Fusion360 subscription with machining add-on for an hobby cnc machine? Expensive hobby. I wish they would add 4th axis back to basic.
@@huistv2005 oh, you can't do 4th axis programming under the hobby license? Damn that's a shame

Could you make a pellet mold for an air rifle and send it to Brazil?

What sort of tumbler and media do you use to get that finish?
It's the green tumbler media from Harbor Freight.

Any idea why that small drill broke? Insufficient pecking?
I was too aggressive with the feeds and speeds.
