Extendable paint pole with a fishing net on the end. Works on the deep creeks we hunt when we're without a retriever. Doubles as a walking stick when you're getting into deeper water and duck retriever...
Wow that was an awesome hunt! I've always wanted to put together a small creek/ditch mallard hunt but haven't had the opportunity yet. Just a tip for retrieving birds in deep water, a fishing pole with a big treble hook works great!
Steve here --- I needed another video from you and was wondering if would be where we hunted or on the creek. Much safer here but a extendable decoy retriever hook is needed versus risking it all. Wader belt and life vest are great as you know. Thanks for getting my blood stirring.
Wasn't on the water and we had ducks coming in consistently before shooting light. It would have been nice to wait, but I was already focused on the duck I was going to shoot before seeing all the ducks coming in behind him.
Loved it! Those late season skinny water mallards sure are a treat. So stoked to see Elijah enjoying just as much as you too!
Top notch Elliot. You put a lot of time and effort out it’s nice when everything works out
Good spot for a fishing pole and a heavy topwater lure with possibly a trailing treble hook on 1 foot of string.
I use a whopper plopper since I don’t have a dog and it works great.
Very detailed… 👌🏽 noice
Was thinking same, muskie bait,9 hooks,no misses
Thats whats its about, Great hunt! The young feller is constantly shooting well and you can see he's enjoying the hunting.

Great hunt, one you will remember always!
Awesome footage great hunt
Great video. Rivers sketchy. Life jackets might be in order for that scenario.
@@mnbednar8071 agreee!
At least you were able to retrieve your bird brother! Mine is still on the ice in 5 1/2- 6 feet of water 😂 it was probably banded to 😢

Extendedable paint roller brush will reach a long way
And its light to carry
Great hunt I’ve watched yall for years
Great hunt, comgrats! Barry
Looks like a fun one!
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Heck of a hunt! Just curious how far away you park the boat on a river hunt like this
Telescoping golf ball retriever works nicely.
Awesome video amazing place congrats on limits

lol, I don’t disagree Steve! I hope all is well
Great hunt!
a long dip net would of been awesome to have! I've been there, hunting deeper water is not my favorite.
Nice hunt …ducks in the decoys before shooting time make my dog slightly anxious to put it mildly….
Topwater plug or a 20-foot extendable plug knocker Pole that's what I use I use both
At least you didn't shoot at the mallard pintail hybrid and miss like me 💔
so dissapointed we didnt get him when having the chance!
@FreelanceDuckHunting at least it will make a great story someday even though i know it hurts now lol
@FreelanceDuckHunting maybe god will send us another chance some day
Great hunt but I’m scratching my head on to why you shot the first single duck on the water with about 50 more coming in!!!

@ Sounds great, if you have plenty of ducks it makes sense to wait!!
You need a fishing rod to retrieve your birds
