CBS stopped allowing deep dives after Omer accused Drea of treating him poorly at ponderosa during his deep dive with Rob, which was subsequently edited out of his deep dive.

I remember little of it even though I saw both versions. Is it because of a NDA, or just a hush hush to put under the rug for PR Survivor, or something else? I didn't keep up with it so I never heard the confirmation of reasoning. I won't bring it up anymore out of respect.
@@xeternalxdreamsx It was all hush hush, so the parties that do know why the deep dive was edited and why there aren’t any more deep dives aren’t talking. I think it mostly stems from CBS not wanting something out there that could potentially get them pulled into a lawsuit. They have a person monitor all post-season interviews, so I guess they don’t like that it takes so much time. Maybe they’re paying the monitor by the hour. I don’t know. If you Google “Rob has a podcast no more deep dives” you’ll find a lot more information.
Great choice to start these deep dive interviews with Charlie because he had a bird's eye view of the game out there and could really give us an almost neutral narrator explanation of things we weren't shown (and of course a little of his feelings as well). I understand their reasoning for how they do it now, but why not also do one like.. a couple weeks later...? Jeff doesnt necessarily need to run it (and likely can't), but I know who'd be a good host! The amount of drama that transpired AFTER this season wrapped has been entertaining, and seeing them all hash it out in person would make for some great TV imo Work your magic Rob!
I personally just hate how much weight the jury appears to put on fire making. After 4 weeks on Survivor, fire making should be really easy. In Charlie's case, him not having to make fire is a testament to his social game (his relationship with Ben). The fact that Kenzie was the "social player" and got put to fire by Ben is a knock against her game in my opinion. Add to that the fact that she went up against possibly the weakest fire maker this season, her win makes less and less sense.
Amazing podcast, Charlie is so fun listen to and you did a great job facilitating the interview as always, so sad that we can’t get longer then an hour but this is better than nothing, we’ll enjoy what we do get. You should try to have Charlie on a post game show podcast next season!
This was such a great interview! I would LOVE to hear more about Ben and Charlie’s strategy sessions and what they did together in future interviews (post Charlie becoming a lawyer! *fingers crossed*) or from Ben!

The good old days of survivor where each jury member pitched a question but now we have this discussion format I despise.
Sorry but Suck Furvivor production. They should really allow you to have post game interviews with these contestants with no time limit. You are a professional, know the assignment, and almost single handledly held survivor fandom intact for years.
I love you Rob but I am most interested in Charlie’s thoughts from final 7 maybe final 8 on. There was too much time spent on pre merge and early merge that isn’t quite as important when you only have an hour.
I loved having all of that knowledge and talk! So many interesting things that we don’t get to hear of because people tend to focus on what they’ve last seen the most.
The moment when Charlie lost IMHO - 55:27 (or "inflection point" as Rob describes it). Targeting Venus over Kenzie at F7 cost him the game. Kenzie *without* an advantage was always going to be a bigger threat than Venus *with* one - ESPECIALLY as Kenzie had openly discussed potentially targeting him the day before.
Great deep dive with Charlie but I don’t quite understand the time constraints. The show is over & Season 47 is around the corner. Maybe, Survivor is saving him for Season 50. Charlie is so well spoken I could listen to him for 3 hours.
Rob got into some strife for Omar's deep dive in season 42 when he outlined the bullying he received at Ponderosa. I think CBS' way of managing it is, 'well if we only only 1 hour interviews instead of 2-5 hours, then they can only really cover the main game points instead of absolutely everything'
I know a lot of people thought he was boring or whatever but I need him back for season 50 because he played one of the best games ever and deserves another chance

free idea: Survivor: Law School We have so many *aspiring* lawyers. Format the challenges the same, but instead of a jungle they take place in a library. The former Survivors who are professional lawyers could stage mock trials instead of tribal council and they also form the judges panel, scoring the debate. Then the loser's client is evicted. 👢
This way while the players sleep in the library basement with the boiler and the un-shelved books awaiting a more literature-friendly political climate, the judges and staff have pleasant dorms to sleep in and cafeteria food.
Rob did an incredible job given the time constraint. It’s pretty infuriating though (to no fault of Rob’s) how much had to be skipped over and we didn’t get to hear past the F6 vote…. So disappointing CBS
Imo Charlie is one of the best players ever, or at least in recent years. It could be recency bias, but he had such a well-rounded game and I would LOVE to see him back. He was great with strategy and social game and making subtle maneuvers throughout, but I just think his final tribal could’ve been better, although the jury didn’t really give him opportunities to explain his great strategy. And I don’t get why people call him boring! I thought he was also funny and seemed like a great person outside of the game too.
The term "actors" can be used for all, male, female, and enbies, and it is the most respectful to all because the history of professions having gender distinctive names in English was designed to give people less credit and compensation for their work based on their gender.
i'm only 10 minutes in but god it is so sad listening to charlie who, for all intents and purposes won the season, have to try and explain what he did "wrong" and how he lost when the only true reason he lost was because of one bitter witch on the jury. i'm glad he hasn't let it get him down too much at least
This last season was a mess but we all loved it Charlie I feel tired and to be fair ftc isnt bad but you won this season for sure no shade I even thought Ben might win

Charlie was the best survivor player from S46. Kenzie was the most luckiest player from S46.
