From poems like this, to slow sad songs, to old style boom bap hip hop to new age scream rap like look at me, X could jump on any style of track and absolutely kill it. The way he uses his voice to bring the right emotion to every track is incredible. The way he says, "where is this going hey" really makes you feel the hopelessness and confusion of as he puts it, "being trapped in a changing maze" of his life..

@@shaeel it's clearly a metaphor but I think he really distanced from God and believed, at the time, in putting all his mind and body to succeed, "losing his soul". that's why I think "before i close my eyes" exist. it's the aftermath of that, X wanted to get close again with God, hoping it's not too late for him, as he says, to get right and compensate for the things he did in the past.
