it is good dual citiozenship is not allowed. It will keep talent in the country or else other countries may try to poach our talent from our country and there will be net outflow of talent from the country

Even India's neighbouring country Sri Lanka offers It's citizens the option to have Dual Citizenship.

I think politicians and people like jaisankar are unnecessarily paranoid on this issue. I think dual citizenship should be given for the following reasons. It will allow Indian origin people living in other countries to invest in India. Right now, they have an incentive to take their money from India and invest abroad. Dual citizenship will allow people like CEOs of Google, Microsoft, and scientists and researchers to invest in India in Long term. India is not going to be colonized in the future. It should look at an optimistic view, rather tha paranoid view of the world.

Exactly, it's a very simple thing to do, where u just need the intent to implement Dual citizenship...
What is the complexity here.. they might b worried, what if people go to potential threat marked countries.. u Bar those countries for dual citizenship and grant Dual citizenship for all other safe zone territories.. as simple as that...

@@sathishkumarbalasubramania982 yup, and ban dual citizens from voting or standing for election/government jobs unless they renounce foreign citizenship should solve the problem. I expect this entire process to take a decade or two when India becomes much more developed and has greater income.

Not for the time being. The government will need to have a robust citizens database, digital tax and criminal records to even start thinking of such a provision. There are risks of tax offenders and criminals escaping using this loophole that is already prevalent. For e..g someone moves money to Panama or Cayman Islands and escapes tax residency etc... Personally, I would love for this options to be available. But we are long long away from achieving this.
