Could you just use the strain relief over the metal structure to hold/ mount it up instead of zip ties? Or is that too logical?

If I remember correctly the weight balance of the light doesn't like that. Like the light won't point straight down if you do that.

No intention to spoil anything, but the position depends more likely on how big your car is to get enough light in the engine bay without unbolting the bonnet. So zip ties will always save the day 😁

Sold it to pay for a bunch of other side projects. It's been gone for well over a year now.
