- Scotlands Islands are an amazing place to van life car camp or just explore and as i hit my final island on this trip the remoteness becomes very apparent, a huge spit of land with next to no people and just raw nature in full effect, the isle of jura

honestly i didnt, as i didnt really have time to get that far up the island but instead i chose to visit something that hopefully was even better ( next episode ) 😀

My ancestors came from Jura and it helps put into perspective just how rugged their lives must have been up from whenever they arrived on Jura up until the early/mid 1700s when they left for America.
Btw i feel assured it was very very difficult for them to leave such a beautiful and unspoiled island.

I have an idea and hope you will do it.....will you ask for people to choose horror films for you to watch when you are parked up in lonely, scary places like these islands or when you were on the werewolf moors? Like Amityville 2, that was a great film you probably havent seen and Dog Soldiers would be amazeballs to watch in Scotland.

If you visit the Isle of Eigg visit the ' Black Hole of Eigg.' Learn the whole story behind the title. You will learn about a long history of Scots enslaving and trafficking Scots. You'll learn about wholesale massacres, too. All of the islands population were asphyxiated in a cave. Babies, children , adults young and old. All 390 of them. ( Unlike Glencoe ) Eigg never gets mentioned.

Worked there years ago, one hotel, place was mad. Met a guy who wore a sarong,pete the feet, he never wore shoes.

he stayed a fair bit away from the hotel, he would cycle round to the hotel on a unicycle. crash at his mates because the roads are not lit up at night. Ask about him.

Worried about a boat rocking ?? Honestly you're scared of cows, deer, scared of a little bit of water coming in on a boat when the shores in sight ...I'm not sure you're a truly brave adventurer. You seem far too townie to be in the outdoors . Panicking when you feel out of phone reception ... . A new watcher to the channel but I am abit confused by your fear of everything ...isn't being in the outdoors all about the sense of danger and adventure and embracing it?

That hike you did past those houses and to stand there looking out at that view . Wow. Watching it via here I got a little emotional 🤦🏼♂️to experience it in person must be something else . Watching these latest videos now has me planning my trip next year . I wanted to go right to the top of mainland Scotland near Cape Wrath however these islands are now on my list .
😀 theres so much to see and do in scotland its why i havent made it as far as the nc500 and i think this was my 4th trip here just keep finding epic spots that arent normally on the main tourist list
Great video I was going to Jura and Aaran in the car, but I never made it, I travelled Yorkshire , Pennines ans Lakes and Snowdonia instead, found some good park ups without using Park 4 night which was great, are the ferries seasonal to that isle? do you follow any other park up guides instead of relying on park 4 night? I would use it for the Scottish Islands as its a safe guide for the isles!
