This gets at the heart of what being a grown ass man is all about. Also, if you are asking yourself "is what I'm doing harming others," it's a pretty good indication that you are an alright guy. That question is equally as important as, "Am I being mislead?" or better yet ,"Is my understanding of the truth flawed?" Because to answer the first question accurately, you must have a firm grasp on what is True.

I tried to be more like this. It's way more expensive yet looks way less expensive and takes a long time to accumulate extra parts and pieces. When I need a shelf I have two options. 1 wait until I have scrap or 2 go buy what I need. I am not going to pay for scrap so my shelves end up looking store-bought or are store-bought. My workshop has a mix of spirited man and amazon man (the ladder being bought online not a manly man from the Amazon). Lastly, I realized that I had to be who I am. Buying everything from the store doesn't work either. Some things need to be custom-built. So, I have a good mix haha.

The name itself is from kalagan (literally "[strong] spirited") which means "fierce" or "brave"; from kalag ("spirit" or "soul") in the native animistic anito religions. Hence, the whole Provincia de Caraga of AD 1622 was called region de gente animosa, that is "region of spirited folk".

Ain't nobody got time for regular sticky Post-Its. I wrap them around all my various gear cables for labelling, and stick each to itself, eg... "headlamp charging cable", "GoPro charging cable", etc. The super sticky's will become tattered, crinkled and almost illegible after years of use before they let go, unlike the others which fall off after a couple of days, so I appreciate that level of detail. I'm a detail oriented person too, though it was beginning to affect me personally. That was until I heard a really great quote... "sometimes you just gotta stop polishing the glass, and enjoy the view out the window" :)

Read this spirited comment... This is why there are over 200 watches in inventory but only a small fraction are listed on the site. The details of the photoshoots, editing the dust, waiting for the perfect natural lighting. It's why it takes over an hour to meticulously pack an order and drive to hand deliver the package to UPS, USPS or FedEx to ensure it's handed directly to them and scanned in with a drop off receipt. It's why a customer has called this spirited watch store the "Brinks Truck" of watch packaging. It's why there are hundreds of videos of watches and watch movements, hundreds of gigabytes, on several hard drives that don't get edited and uploaded because the details and perfection matter and editing an 8 minute video will consume 8 hours, not counting uploading and deleting 3 times after noticing a color balance shift or something else that no one else will notice. It's why there are dozens of watch reviews written and not published because they "aren't ready" yet. The watch movement database site this spirited watch store owner built has a hundred movements not yet published because this spirited content creator refuses to copy and paste or scrape the web, and must verify each spec. It's why this spirited watch site is perfectly lined up to the pixel, and customized to be different than other websites, but it's slow to have new content. It's why this spirited watch shop and TH-cam channel is loved by its customers and subscribers but its customers and subscribers get tired of asking for more products to buy and videos to watch. It's why this spirited watch TH-cam channel started in 2008 but only has 32k subscribers. Maybe its detail fetish is why this spirited watch store/blog is still here after 13 years, or maybe it's a result of stubbornness or a control freak thing. It's why this spirited watch store has a hard time dealing used watches, because this spirited watch seller wants everything to be perfect but used watches by their nature are not perfect, that's what makes them perfect. This spirited creator is drained from working so hard to make other watch brands look good for a one off sale, which is why this spirited man has been told it's time to put all the spirited man labor into creating a new spirited brand. It's why this spirited comment will be posted with one short phrase then edited to paste the full comment then edited 5 more times after that.

I've never felt more related to a person I don't know. Right down to the pencil, and NOT the accordion kind of post-its. I've been writing down times/ dates of when I take medication but then it started going over into eating, drinking, habits, bad habits, good habits, it's really allowed me to have more space to step back and look at where I need to improve.

Outstanding video and story! Just made two of the pencils today with all of the same components. I'll give them a good working over in my shop. I'm already a convert to 0.9mm lead after one day! Used 0.5mm for years, with lots of breaks, because I liked the thin lines. I already appreciate the heartiness and the better readability of the 0.9mm. You da (spirited) man Van!
