I always open and shut the passenger door when I'm showing people the car. And tell them they don't build cars like this anymore. That solid tank feeling when you shut that door!!!

You have made a video on basically everything wrong with my car. I appreciate it thank you for the help.

Most interesting. Never realized there were so many layers to these wood trim pieces in these cars. Seems almost overly complicated to me. But very informative. Thanks.

I have several other videos on restoring the wood trim in this car. The long one on the dash was the most difficult.

Well, I guess those Germans do learn a few things over time.
I've had my door cards off all 4 of my doors on my 01 210 more than once. They are much easier to take off than yours. Three screws, the lock nob and unclip the clips around the bottom and side edges and it's off. The seat control is made onto the door card and just has a plug on the back side. There is also a small bulb in the handle that slips out from the backside.
The trim on the window frame does not come down onto the panel so you don't have to remove it either. No wood on the door.
I've had to replace both back regulators, 4 or 5 rivets those are fairly easy, and the front passenger one, 8 rivets, that one is a bear to do.
I also recently replaced the broken left rear window, took me a week to recover from that, and the driver door strap.

Yeah my W210 door panels are much easier to remove. These aren't bad though. Just have to be careful.

You mentioned your doors are a bit still to open/close. We’re you able to inject grease into the hinge? I used a grease “pen” it took a while to force grease into the hinge but I did it. And it made a very noticeable difference in smooth and ease of operation. (If I used a thinner grease I’m sure it would have taken a little less time but live and learn)

Yes I've already greased the hinges for all four doors.

@@ImpalamansGarage awesome, keep up the great videos! I am considering tackling some of the cracking trim I have due to this video. I have a 560sel that is getting a heart transplant. It’s been a project over the last couple years. This week it will run again for the first time.

Is there a way to remove the panel with the door closed? My door is stuck locked.

I don't think so. The chrome piece around the latch has to come off to get the door panel off, and the door has to be open for that. Is just that one door locked on your car? Is the lock button down and cannot be moved?

I thought those cups holders were a dealer option.
