    Measuring an AC voltage with the DC setting on the meter says a lot about the knowledge of this bungler. Besides that, the reverse voltage will kill the LEDs very soon. Keep your hands off such life-threatening tinkering!!!

      I suspect that the LED driver circuitry is on another smaller board inside the base. What might be confusing to North American viewers is that black and white are standard colors for AC wiring in this part of the world. However, the internal wiring inside a device does not necessarily conform to any standardized color scheme, and this video was not shot in North America in the first place.

    Нельзя подключать светодиоды к шим драйверу работающему без нагрузки, сначала нужно присоединить нагрузку на выход драйвера и только потом подавать питание на вход драйвера.

    Leadless solder causing cold joints is the main cause of electronic device failures. Nobody is going to suck on a light bulb and get poisoned. Lead solder needs to come back.

    The unstable meter reading is because you are reading DC on the white and black wire cables they are AC, change DC for AC in the meter then start troubleshooting the diodes not the LED, they don't go bad 100% of the time. good soldering skills.

    Don't use this at home please. Very dangerous using these live AC voltage on these leads for testing the LED's. It's better to grab a decent isolated DC power source with current limit or a 9V battery with 300-2000 Ohm resistor in series.

      No s/c. The green LED that is newly added will light up, that is all. But you must not touch the metal probe...electric shock.

    A rather dangerous and unnescessary thing to do. A DVM with a diode test is what is needed. That meter has a diode test. Doesnt he know how to use it?

      He is getting voltage from the bulb,s circuit board output which is around 30 to 40vdc. But the AC element from this transformerless circuit set-up can still shock you lightly.
