AOTY for me is Let’s Start Here by Lil Yachty. I feel that it is so great because it is unique. Lil Yachty has always been my favorite artist, and I love how he has grown as an artist. From his pop-inspired trap days to his dark ATL influenced trap, Yachty has always been creative. Let’s Start Here shows a whole other side to him that we hadn’t seen yet. The production was great, from the guitars and drum to the psychedelic synths. Yachty floated on the vocals and the features were great as well. I hope Let’s Start Here inspires other artists to experiment.
AOTY genuinely so far is Theatre 14 by Perry Maysun. Something in that album just hit me right where I was in life. It had me from flailing my arms in my kitchen to shocked to crying. It is such a masterpiece and the dude is hella underrated. Wilting is probably my favourite song off of there but there are such bangers. The sound is jazz and rap in a psych ward basically
