I have been shooting for over 34 years and in the last 6 months I have developed an issue with eye dominance. Dennis was recommended to me by a friend. I rang, made an appointment and after spending all day with Dennis, he not only fitted my gun, but then took the time explaining and discussing this problem. He then helped me to overcome this issue and put me back on track. The mans a genius and helped me when I was frustrated and at a very low point of shooting and I for one can’t thank him enough, a true gentleman and someone you can trust.

Here we see two genuine men with no attitude but a genuine love and passion for the sport.

Be nice to see this gunshop, there's nothing like this in the states. Side by sides are beautiful.

My son was our best trap shooter with a 100 year old LC Smith. The gun smith said it fit him perfectly. No changes were made. The LC is heavier than our same age Sterling far lighter in the field and a great pheasant gun. Vintage side by sides aren't cheap ,but far better equally priced new.

Denis is a gentleman, he didn't want to name the offending brands which are fixed the most often.

I like the fact he was not maker biased in any way, not sales driven by any one maker unlike some shops nearer my home in Oxfordshire mentioning no names!!

Dennis and Brian are brilliant. I went in just ask some questions before applying for my fac. Spent over an hour being drowned in tea and information to help. At no point at all was I made to feel I was taking up their time. I would recommend them hands down!

Very intelligent interview!!! I like his analogies back to cars; he frames his arguments in terms of what we live with day to day.

Hi agree 100% I was paying for lessons when I first got my licence I explained that I didt want to just learn how to shoot a over under I had to put my foot down and turn up with 2 or 3 different types of shotguns and all I kept getting is you should only shoot one.
I have 8 different shotguns now and I hit Clay's with them all

thank you Dennis i enjoyed very much this time w/you and found your remarks incitful. being only a farmer and shoot owner i am left with only my collection of charles dalys, Souers, and a browning...but with stiff upper lip will soldier on! may the high bird fall to your shot. Robert

    "25-inch barrels! Throw them away!"
Right into the back of my JEEP! The firearms industry has always attempted to convince the shooting public that they need something new! If this were not so, we would never be convinced that we need another gun! I have several barrel lengths, but my favorite is a Browning Citori with 26-inch barrels, a pristine older hunter model! Driven pheasants just fall from the sky, but of course... I am an instinctive (Churchill Method) shooter!
If any of you own any of those pesky Purdey, Boss, or Holland and Holland, shotguns, with those absolutely useless barrels under 28-inches! Just give them to me. I will take care of them for you!
    God Bless...
    Bill

Side by sides all the way . No reason at all for an over and under. To me they were a mistake. They crack open longer and your eyes are side by side not over and under .😎

I’ve always wondered why it is that across the pond you all use a side by side or an over under. I’m from the U.S. and you rarely see anything other than a semi or the occasional pump it seems. If anyone wants to weigh in with their comment please feel free.

    • @afroliciouspresents3603
      @afroliciouspresents3603 2 ปีที่แล้ว

The side by side and over/under offerings can be broken open, which means that not only you know the gun is safe - everyone around you can see it.
Three shot semis are mostly used for pigeon shooting, but semis and pump guns aren't viewed as sporting or ideal, from a safety perspective, for the above reasons.

What would be the best under €1000 shotgun for someone who is just getting into shooting pheasants/clay and about to get his hunting licence??

Pheasant shooting should be done with a side by side.
Problem is clay shooting, once they hit a few Clay's they want to shoot live game. Game shooting is an entirely different sport. It requires utmost safety..... personally I am fed up with jumping in ditches,to get out of the way of the clay swingers
