Kyle, what do you prefer? the hustle-bustle chaotic life of Saigon or the quaint, cold and slower pace of Germany? Germany is a beautiful country but I'd take Saigon over it any day! simply because I live in the same atmosphere of Germany here in Seattle, Washington so I thirst for the Saigon's chaos.

2:55 Kyle says "he kinda feels out of place". Well, Kyle, to a young person who is still developing his role and mapping out his dreams in life, The Atlantic can seem a bit intimidating. But keep in mind that The Atlantic is a hotel for affluent people. Usually, sophisticated older people who can afford the Atlantic, and who also delight at its opulence as much as you do. Young people
who haven't yet "arrived" at the station of success, will naturally feel intimidated by the old-world European grandeur of a palace like the Atlantic. That is normal.
But at 4:47 you said something very troubling, pointing out a lobby table and saying "this table is probably worth more than my life." Kyle, no table is worth more than a human life.
4:51 "this spoon is worth half of my life." No spoon is worth any portion of a human life.
Perhaps you have had a very spartan childhood, but to place such little value on your life is a very distorted way of thinking about yourself and human life itself. The value of your life is what ever you make it. You own your life, and you are the manager of it. You can make what ever you want out of your life, and you will decide how to spend your time, living as a human being.
You may do great things in life, or you may do small things which have great impact on other people. Whatever you do, it will have value, because you are human. You exist at the top of the entire animal kingdom. Nobody can devalue that.
The Atlantic Hotel is a treasured artifact of the grandness of past Europe, where great civilizations and great nations arose and eventually faded away. The Atlantic is reminiscent of the history of the European gilded age, the Renaissance, and the glory of empires.
In past centuries, only aristocrats and royalty were allowed to stay in such an beautiful palace as the Atlantic. Today, anyone of any class, race, nationality or sex can stay at the Atlantic, and they will be treated like royalty, providing they can afford the room rates.
I've stayed at the Atlantic, and I'm far from being royal, but the entire Atlantic staff treated me as if I were royal. I actually got to know some of the staff there, which by European traditions never happens, since in Europe, staff are considered servants and guests who can afford to stay at the Atlantic are considered to be aristocrats. The two classes don't always mix in Europe, but I'm American, and in America it is not only permissible but encouraged to associate with different classes.
Americans are constantly moving from lower to higher classes, and sometimes from higher to lower classes depending on business success and economic circumstances. But the American Middle Class is the class that pays for both the poor, the rich, the government and a good portion of other countries as well. As a middle class American, I made friendly acquaintances with some of the staff at the Atlantic. I discovered that most of the people who work at the Atlantic are not at all rich, but in fact are well trained working class people who put on their uniforms and play their part of presenting this grand hotel.
The actual rich people who own the hotel are the Kempinski Group which is a hotel corporation. That corporation is made up of people who also are working class types, with a few affluent types at the very top, but the corporation itself is mostly owned by stockholders who are normal working people who have invested a bit of their money.
So the beautiful grand richness of the Atlantic is real, but not necessarily designed to intimidate people, but instead please them. During the "Great Economic World Depression" of the late 1920's and 1930's, American's had little money or even food. But they did have a few cents to spend on going to the movies, which were cheap.
Movie theaters in those days were beautiful grand palaces, with huge impressive lobbies, and chandeliers, statues, art objects...literally palaces. The motion picture studios owned the theaters back then, and they built these grand movie palaces for the poor, unemployed Americans who would spend a few cents to enter a dreamworld of opulence and escape their misery in movie land for a short time. It costs a lot more to stay at the Atlantic Hotel, but the idea is the same, that people can escape the problems of their normal life, and perhaps splurge a bit and stay in a grand hotel for a night or two.
I can guarantee you one thing Kyle, and that is the fact that there are many older people who have stayed at the Atlantic Hotel, who would gladly trade you enormous sums of money to have your health, and your youth. Kyle, you are far richer and far more valuable than you think. Your entire life is not behind you. It is ahead of you. You are indeed a very wealthy young man.

@@kyleledotnet You are welcomed. And here's another thought. By the time you can afford to install heated bathroom flooring or fancy chandeliers in your home, these things will probably not be important to you. However it is very important to discover the things that really matter in your life, and then continue to pursue those things, either as a
lifelong passion, profession or hobby. Often times, material things become less important as people discover the real things in life that make them tick. Relationships, work, interests. Hobbies. I know very little about you, only seeing this video, but I do recognize and appreciate that you are a naturally gifted communicator.
You speak very well, and your on-camera image and presence is very natural, and very easily understood by the viewer. The viewer immediately feels like he or she is listening to a friend, who is a close personal friend they've know for years. You are really that sincere and real in your videos.
You are a creative person, and you are an expressive person, in addition to being a talented communicator. These are not only valuable abilities used in achieving success in life, but they are also very coveted by many people who are not good speakers, or don't have an expressive out-going personality.
Your online success as a writer, performer and on-camera personality is working well for you, and I'm sure you have many fans who enjoy your work. Kyle you are very natural in the world of communication and performance. These are some of your great assets, and they will remain your valuable assets throughout your entire lifetime.
In order to develop your natural gifts and abilities, you first need to know what those abilities are. I've mentioned several of them, but you can find out even more about yourself by studying other people. If you carefully observe people, and analyze their personalities, mannerisms, behavior, communication and interaction with others, you will then notice, by comparing each one to you, what you are not.
You will also resonate with those personalities you observe who are very much like you. You may have some idols or respected older people who you look up to in your field of work who you want to become more like. These are good role models, and if possible, it would be extremely, extremely valuable if you could meet some of these people, or even develop a relationship with one of them in order to learn and grow from their much larger life experience.
This "search for a mentor" approach is based on the age old relationship between an apprentice and a master. Modern schooling lacks this approach, but it is one of the richest and most valuable things you can do in your life, to find mentors along the way.
Rule number one is to know that it is YOU who must find the mentor, and you will have to put forth the most interest and effort in order to get their attention, develop a relationship and eventually learn from him or her. Mentors are rarely family members. Sometimes an aunt or uncle, but usually a mentor is a person who is an accomplished or successful older person in the field of interest which you and the mentor both have in common.
German great music composer-organist Johann Sebastian Bach wanted to learn to play organ really well as a young man. He was in search of a master-mentor from whom he could learn. Bach walked over 250 miles, sleeping in barns and sheds along the way until he arrived at the great organ-master's home. Once there, the organ master told him to leave.
Bach was determined and insistent, and he said that he would be the master's house servant and do chores and anything else for him as payment if the master would only teach him how to play the organ really well. Finally the organ master took Bach in, and taught him for nearly a year. Bach did what ever he had to do to learn, and eventually Bach became one of the greatest organists in music history, and one of the giants of the world of music.
His music of nearly three centuries past is still as fresh and relevant as the day he wrote it. He was a genius, but when asked how he came into such fame and fortune, Bach replied:
"Anyone else who had put in the amount of work I have, would have achieved the same results."
In other words, Bach attributed his genius and all his "gifts" not to his heritage nor to God, but to the amount of hard work he put into realizing his dreams and becoming a success.
Kyle, I'm not suggesting that you walk 250 miles to find a mentor, but you will have to be the person who is most persistent when deciding to learn from a more established and successful person in your fields of interest. It may cost you time, effort and a bit of money, but when you truly identify a person from whom you want to learn and become like, the work will be worth it.
There are plenty of older people in this world who will gladly share their knowledge, experiences and abilities with you. But it will be you who has to be the one to ask for it. And like Bach, you may have to be tenacious and persevering to get it, but the payoff will result in knowledge, and human interaction of experience that you will never get from a school, college, friends, books, or online learning.
Real, human-to-human experiential learning. And when you outgrow or decide that you need a new mentor as you develop in life, you will have to search for that new "organ teacher" along the way, but believe me, there will be one who will be right for you at different times in your life, if you are willing to search and do the work.
I'm telling you all this because I am at an age where I need to give my knowledge and experience away to deserving younger people. Your humility, and your humanity makes you deserving. They also make you very respectable. These are great human qualities not usually found in too many young Millennials today.
When I was young, I needed to learn. When I became much older, I need to give back my learning to other young people. I wish you success, fulfillment and happiness in life. You deserve it, but remember you will only get it if you first know what you really want and need, and then put in the work to make it happen. Dreams do not come true on their own. Dreams are imagined, well thought out and identified, and then built. Bach was right....genius, and happiness is mostly about using your mind well, and putting in the hard work. Kyle, I look forward to seeing more of your success. You are indeed, building your dreams.
