Wow, glad to finally see this. glad to see that nothing had really changed about the operation when youd found this truck. Definitely my favorite of their trucks with the top exhaust. Shows off the nice little puffs of smoke better too lol. Loved the stop at about the 3 minute mark, a few drivers used to do that when I was young and I always loved it even though I was clueless as to why they did it back then haha. The body mounted camera was a nice surprise too, awesome perspective for a truck like this, particularly with the combining of functions and the lunging forward when put in gear. never did see this truck at idle, have to wonder how much slower it really is since this much revving just makes it relatively average speed wise haha. Packing shot was awesome too, and I assume done just for the camera? awesome video, may also be worth noting that these are 1996's at newest, and only recently were the last of this group of trucks(140s) retired.

agreed on the stop at 3:00, it's fun just focusing on the audio and it confirms that it really is faster than having to wait for the revs to calm down, shift in gear, pull forward uphill 3 feet, and then start on that zarn after handling the FA. that's one of my favorite clips for sure. considering it's average speed when revved, even I think slower than when you filmed it, running the arm at idle would be....frustrating to say the least. and I remember wondering how fast the packer was swinging back and forth during your upload, apparently not all that fast lol driver just did that on his own. thanks regarding the age and I was definitely wondering if this one was retired. not the news I wanted to hear, but I guess it makes sense

Excellent work! The body perspective camera angle came out very well. Can't imagine how fast the rapid rail would fly if this guy was flooring it this hard in one of the Edco rapid rails I've seen Alan post. Can't get anymore epic of a manual packing shot with the hopper so full it can't even clear the container and the driver's flooring it trying to clear it, really enjoyed it. And I was surprised how "slow" the packer was given all the additional RPM the operator was giving it. Must be something with the flow of hydraulic oil to those two hydraulic cylinders. And the hoses to the cylinders weren't very large in diameter either, could be another factor. Regardless, awesome video! Im hoping you have more to upload in the future of 144? ;)

I'm no Rapid Rail fan but man this was awesome. These Riverside trucks just blow me away with how fast they operate and the Zarns and FA cascades just add to the fun. Not to mention those are two of my favorite carts lol Love the camera quality too, it's obviously different than your usual but it has a classic quality feel to it that I really enjoy. Packing shot and body life were quite something! And the body mount footage was awesome too. Really seems like Riverside is full of friendly drivers, I'm sure that must make filming fun. Did you ever see their 320 Rapid Rail any time when you were out there? Nice work!

thanks Aaron. I'm glad my editing program can render make the best of the old Canon's poor quality so it's halfway decent for youtube uploading, and happy to hear you actually like the vintage feel lol. when Kevin posted those pics/video, that was how I even discovered they had a 320-rapid rail...sad that it had to be when they were getting rid of it aka essentially DIDN'T own it any longer. and I wonder if there was more than just the one. check your email too, sending you something
