Some of your viewers are NOT in the business and are just living vicariously through your videos. To you, it may seem like "just another day" doing the same old thing, but to viewers like me, it is exciting and fascinating to get an up close look at this work. Additionally, you do a great job of talking us through what is happening and the logic behind decisions. So, thank you for making these videos even when you feel you don't have anything "exciting" to talk about.
I’m a custom woodworker, who enjoys rec climbing in available time and cutting down trees as a small hobby for myself, family and friends, I really enjoy your spirit August, your a humble professional! Thanks for the content
My kids go to this school and my wife works there. They got a kick out of seeing the school from this perspective, and I finally got them to watch a tree cutting video with me. It was a good time. Thanks! 👍
"It's just tree work....." "I don't have much profoundation going on right now....." MonkeyBeaver crew is killing it. Thanks for giving us a little bit of a look at your day August. Keep yourselves safe! 😃👍❤🌲 Randy
Last year was a tough year, when you take people for granted and just assume they are going to be there. Some one you talk to and work with all the time, then they are gone I got back in to tree work after years because of your passion for it, and because of that I got to spend 2 years working with my dad before he was killed, he died doing what he loved and always said he wanted to be in a tree when Jesus comes back. Thank you for doing what you do
I cannot measure the amount your videos have helped me progress as a climber and as a human. The crew I work for primarily uses bucket trucks so if it wasn't for your lessons, Tips, Tricks I'd be lacking as a somewhat seasoned feller and a short of practiced climber. You released that video "Defeat your Goliath" during a time when I was ready to give up due to a body-freezing full-blown panic-stricken fear of heights that lasted for months until I finally started coming back into my faith after falling away in the years after high school. You've helped me in my life in so many ways and we've never even met. August you've made a better man out of me from 1000s of miles away and for that, I sincerely thank you. Through your actions alone you inspire. I'm 27 now, I started as a Groundie at 24 and started climbing small things that same year. without your videos, I could confidently say I would have made a life-altering mistake. I can't wait to meet your crew someday as I grow in this industry and begin making videos of my own one day to guide others on better paths through this life.
It’s never just another tree for me. Every tree job is different and most of us keep coming back to watch you and your team do some fine work. Keep posting those videos.
True professionals at work. I find myself holding my breath during some of your work. It’s truly amazing to watch and the views are outstanding! Stay safe!
An old school guy taught me when I first started don’t worry about how big the tree is. Go Limb by limb, cut by cut, and at the end of the day you don’t have a big tree anymore just a job well done.
It’s full on wet/frozen/windy winter weather here. No job scheduled for January, maybe some pruning work in Feb. Perhaps a removal or two before then but in the meantime, it’s inside, stoking the wood stove, petting the dog and watching my favorite arborist and his crew doing what they love. Living vicariously through you all, ahh yes… The sound of a two stroke singing in my ears… Thanks for the ‘not-so-profound’ video..
August, I am not a tree guy but I am and industrial electrician. When you start a new large project, it also seems overwhelming. One conduit, one wire at a time and finally it is a working system. it becomes art just like you removing a tree. Be safe my friend and thank you for your content and never ending spirt and energy....
i just started climbing and i love watching your videos as an example cuz there's so much that goes into it. I've been a groundsman for about a year and always wanted to learn to climb once i found the tree business. I'm 23 years old and plan on sticking with this trade. I'm learning so much like safety, knots, backing in a trailer, driving a large vehicle, tree identification, proper cuts, pruning, and my favorite using a chainsaw. I have a long way to go and I still get scared sometimes but I'm determined to be like you one day, a badass tree guy.
Hahaha, I watched a water skier take off from the boat launch one day. He never plained out, he just slowly started going down until he was completely submerged. The rope was still tight and he was still hanging on. Eventually he gave up and the rope snapped up out of the water and he bobbed to the top. It was hilarious to watch! 😅
So greatly appreciate all you share. I love climbbing/arborist world, but shoulders are out, so eating breakfast while you take me on your day is precious beyond words. Dont let negativity stop your sharing for those of us who sooo appreciate your skills and shared knowledge. Cutting in deep to swing... one day ill be back in trees... 67 yr old, kiwi downunder.😊😊😊
Your sawing skills are so amazing !!!! My dad was a logger, he was a one man show, cutting, hauling away and then off to his sawmill ! It was a lot of hard work, I was never nervous him cutting and hauling, but that sawmill always made me so concerned for him. Those blades were humongous. Anyways, you are savvy smart like he was and I admire that. Stay safe and thank you for my memories of my dad ❤️
We should all strive to be perfect , understanding that we can't be. What sets us apart is what level of imperfection we're willing to accept. There was only one perfect human.
August - I grew up in the cab of a semi, and was at a very early age taught the etiquette of truck driving. At eighteen started doing just that, and you are so correctly describing the general public as to their knowledge and lack of respect for big, heavy, hard to stop and start vehicles sharing the roads. And whilst you were berating your skills and place in the greater scheme of vocations I knew that algorithms be satisfied by my chewing your skinny little tail, then you rightfully corrected your slander by saying that enginurds would bite the big one trying to do what you make look so easy. Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton do the very same thing. Easy- right? Yeah….when you were born to do that very thing, and spend decades practicing to the point where it’s as natural as breathing. I’m sure from reading interviews with both examples that they hear the notes and the fingers just go to the correct place because they are so talented and have put in the thousands of hours doing what they do. Just. Like. You. Guys. Thanks for filming and editing another day in the life. Some of us are incredibly interested in the journey 😊 (analysis completed). 😂
Ditto what SugarESpice said! I've been watching since early 2020 and will be a life-long fan! Keep bringing us these wonderful experiences!! AND I've learned how to properly trim trees in my woodlot watching your techniques!
Reviewing your knowledge with us isn't over speak. I've been cutting trees with my dad since I can remember....yet.....being reminded is the best education one can get. We were in Indiana hardwoods so the little differences help me see how and why we cut just a little different. Keep educating us, it's appreciated!!!!!
I only have two small jobs left. Thank you, August, forget another good video. Don't worry so much about what to talk about. Everyone loves you no matter what. Even repeating stuff in the tree. Thanks for all you show and teach you are responsible for helping me along and starting my business that I am now 6 years into.
Thank you, I had a job recently large dead fir and could not get the branches to peel when cutting flush many times they would snap half way through and fall flat completely fubared neighbors shed had to replace it and about six pickets in the fence because of this but the trick you mentioned about cutting not flush but into the tree is a massive aha moment for me . Thank you for that will save me money on the next job which is another crowded huge fir. So that is plenty profound and the reason I don't watch the other guy who is. I'm sure a great guy that does. The bucking is because I don't want filler. I want process and you are the best at providing that your tree work is profound.
Been watching you and pfanner man since the beginning. You guys are amazing. Been climbing 15 yrs. Now adays I climb out of the bucket few times a week. Keep up the good content. I watch everyone. I love the A team. Working man blues. Made for this. Tuxedo up top. Keep it up man. You have a great crew. I have 1 great guy. Need a few more
August, Your feeling of unease is probably the same as a large part of the world population. I ask myself this question. " What is really going to happen next". I know that I can't run or hide. So, I believe in prayer to help me. But, the unease is still there until something pops in this crazy world in which we live. Peace to you and keep the faith in this new year.
OK, I'm like 1:45 into the video and I'd just like to say that I'm here to watch you "just chop a tree down". I love watching you guy's climb and I'd probably still be watching if you reverted to black and white film 😂 Happy New Year 🎉👍👍👍👍
I enjoy seeing you climb in these videos thank you and your team for the entertainment and tutorials. A profound notion I’ve been learning is that reading God’s word and spending time in prayer has a reward. God is our reward!
o you, it may seem like "just another day" doing the same old thing, but to viewers like me, it is exciting and fascinating to get an up close look at this work
As always outstanding work by you and your crew, precision and speed abound. I understand the utility of a battery saw but it's refreshing to hear a 2 stroke engine for a change. The boat ramp conversation oh yeah, It's entertaining to watch the rich kids that borrowed daddy's boat try and get them in the water.
Great stuff August. 12 years. I think I started watching about 7 years ago. Keep doing what your doing. Best wishes to you, your family, Geoff and all the team, for the New Year. p.s. if you don't know what something is, you just call it a pie-maker. (This is what the old auctioneer always said at the antiques and bric a brac auction in Edinburgh).
I been doing trees in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana for almost 20 years. Imo I'm a pretty good climber. Would love to have the chance to climb with all these guys and reon rounds. They are all super good dudes and mellow as possible. Keep up the great work and videos guys.
The battery saws are so simple and convenient, but they lack character. There's something special about a well tuned two-stroke wonder in your control. The mastery of man over machine is more engaging with the sound, feel, and smell of an engine.
Happy New Year August. May your year be blessed with love, adventure, safety, and joy. Thanks for the education, entertainment and your laid back narrations.
recently had a perfect "direct the peel cuts" record right up until the last limb topping two small ash trees recently ... quite relieved that last one was in fact not long enough to reach the house bc that's exactly where the wind took it ... if I can't be perfect I'll be grateful for good fortune.
'I'm getting that feeling...like i'm about to try it........' and what a cool feeling it is eh?! Hats off for another great video, left me with a smile on my face :) What more can you ask for?
I'm, better safe than sorry. I feel like it was the right choice on lowering that large limb. Then the littler limb just didn't peal properly. Happy New Year to you and the entire crew.
Ahhh the boat ramp... where talent really shines 😂😂 I wish everyone would build good boat guides on they're trailer and a good rest up front so you can drive it straight on everytime, nod your head to the driver in the truck an go up the ramp !!! People always say Wow that looked easy....and it is !!! And PLEASE learn to back a trailer up lol 😂😂
Subject : back pain... 55 old here, still working outside, years ago a bricklayer, now doing different things involving shovels, moving stuff by hands... And often, back pain. “It’s just another tree…….. I don’t know what to talk about”. A truly inspirational video, sir! The energy was real, and infectious! 😂 Just kidding, August, I love this channel 👍
We just did a monster oak took us 6 days. Take it down hall, everything away. Mind you, we do everything manual. We have a chipper bucket truck. Stump grinder and a chip truck. The tree was 7 and a 1/2 foot across at 40 foot. It was still 5 foot Across that was one of those jobs I pulled up on and I said oh no, it was rough but it's gone now God, bust August and crew Happy New Year. I hope it's a wonderful one.
Hey August! Some of what makes words profound is that they aren't every word spoken, so if you always had "profound words" I think that would make them more mundane ... We all appreciate the videos, even just the "basics" . You're the gnarliest!
I watched that first video before you had too many more to watch on your channel. A lot has changed for us both! I’m in track lift most days. I can barely call myself a climber anymore. But I still love every minute.
*OF COURSE & Y E A H WE LIKE ALL THAT* ! Thanks for the bit of HISTORY in you flashback (with the TV screen!) We've LOVED you since! Every nasty limb on this tree is different but never to you on any tree! *SO CANDID YOU ARE* with you *BULLSEYE* inserts throughout your every editing process! Better than the original DALLAS!
Some people love to learn & watching your videos, Jeff’s on hafting or tree work plus all the other people, we all learn & share our experiences.... Maybe some gear maintenance tips or what gear you use & why tips for ideas but I think you have a few already....
Sorry to hear things are slow , here in the flat lands of Kansas it’s slow as well . I try to put away $ all year long so that when the snow flys I can sit by my fire place and watch august hunky videos! That was a pun on your last name bro ! Be safe tree brothers!
Happy new year to you , your family and crew ! After your last video I made a list of goals for the first time and my wife did too . Thank you for that ! I do have to tell you that I have begun to save up for one … I want to get a harness from Monkey Beaver . My accountant (wife) said I have to save my own coins cause there isn’t anything wrong with the one I have ! 😂 I wish nothing but the best for everyone out there in 24 !!!

So true, these videos are entertaining and interesting for people who aren’t arborists. Been following for years.
I agree 100%

Looks like a part of a bridge 🤔 it was a great job feeling the tree and keeping the landing area small and clean and safe for the kids
i like how you rounded off the stump for the kids

Classic August.
You don't need to profound everyday, just keep showing us your awesome tree working skills. Hope you have a wonderful 2024

Isn't it amazing how many "experts" are out there who've never even seen much less touched a chainsaw.
The perfectionist and productionist 😂 that was good 💯
"just climb around on big plants"
Gee whiz, Wally, when you put it that way
🤣🤣

I enjoy seeing you climb in these videos thank you and your team for the entertainment and tutorials. A profound notion I’ve been learning is that reading God’s word and spending time in prayer has a reward. God is our reward!
Indeed
Happy New Year August et al. Particularly loved the drop sequence with the GoPro going down. Thumbs up on that great capture.
o you, it may seem like "just another day" doing the same old thing, but to viewers like me, it is exciting and fascinating to get an up close look at this work
Brother the way you do your videos already is perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. Love it.
Great job!! You guys are amazing.
Thanks again August, maybe you should take the channel abroad. Come visit in Finland.
I used to play under those trees in elementary school....
Great stuff August. 12 years. I think I started watching about 7 years ago. Keep doing what your doing. Best wishes to you, your family, Geoff and all the team, for the New Year. p.s. if you don't know what something is, you just call it a pie-maker. (This is what the old auctioneer always said at the antiques and bric a brac auction in Edinburgh).
i still get vertigo when i see you looking across or looking down. sometimes not every shot but it scary even though i'm sitting down lol
tree work is good. just do your thing and I watch and enjoy. Watching professionals is always interesting.
Thanks for the video August.
Happy New Year to you, your family, and crew...
Hell yea....I knew I heard " pod cast" awhile back!!! Can't wait!
I been doing trees in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana for almost 20 years. Imo I'm a pretty good climber. Would love to have the chance to climb with all these guys and reon rounds. They are all super good dudes and mellow as possible. Keep up the great work and videos guys.
Thanks for explaining the situation with the trucks and the people who don't pay attention.
The battery saws are so simple and convenient, but they lack character. There's something special about a well tuned two-stroke wonder in your control. The mastery of man over machine is more engaging with the sound, feel, and smell of an engine.
August i would never argue with you.
You are the master
lol right? I learn new stuff all the time from him. AWESOME channel.
happy new year from Scotland
Excellent on many levels.
Anytime you edit these videos, it’s a high tension battle with the natural forces that want to destroy, crush and kill.
You had me laughing so hard at "uuhhh im getting that feeling...like im about to try it" 😂😂😂
I know where this tree was . Saw that tree and though of you and there you are. crazy! great stuff.
Happy New Year August. May your year be blessed with love, adventure, safety, and joy. Thanks for the education, entertainment and your laid back narrations.

I think what you guys do is heroic. FWIW
Just live the moment August. Lead with your gut!
Subject : back pain...
55 old here, still working outside, years ago a bricklayer, now doing different things involving shovels, moving stuff by hands... And often, back pain.
I stretched a lot, back home after work, for 5 years, for no long term benefits.
What finally help, is stretching less and working core stability. Best help came from a youtube channel named Squat University, the McGill big 3 routine.
It's not an advice, since I have no clue what your back pain's history is. It's a short bottle with a message in an ocean. Someone, might well not be you, may find this message to help his own back pain.
That was slick making the snap cut turn with an angle top cut
“It’s just another tree…….. I don’t know what to talk about”. A truly inspirational video, sir! The energy was real, and infectious! 😂
Just kidding, August, I love this channel 👍
Always watch with or without a monologue ✊
Love your videos guys
We just did a monster oak took us 6 days. Take it down hall, everything away. Mind you, we do everything manual. We have a chipper bucket truck. Stump grinder and a chip truck. The tree was 7 and a 1/2 foot across at 40 foot. It was still 5 foot Across that was one of those jobs I pulled up on and I said oh no, it was rough but it's gone now God, bust August and crew Happy New Year. I hope it's a wonderful one.
Enjoyed the video.
You are special !! Thanks guys.

August. Your content is already top notch so therefore not having anything to talk about is no big deal.. it's all good brother. Be safe up there.
When the weather was calm I used to go to the local boat ramp with a couple of beers and get the best entertainment you can get for free.
Awesome job brother
Oh, and the views of the mountains?. . . . . . spectaclar!
Welcome to wolf creek buddy, I live right up the road
Some would call that they're lucky jacket! The old ones are the good ones!!!😉
Happy New Year, August and crew.
I watched that first video before you had too many more to watch on your channel. A lot has changed for us both! I’m in track lift most days. I can barely call myself a climber anymore. But I still love every minute.
With an opening like that, I can't help feeling this is the Seinfeld of tree based TH-cam channels...😂
Done it all before, yer but il watch otherwise august just keep yappin without a camera. Kinda hard to go back. Always good n helpfull vids thanx

Happy new year from mt Shasta
