Ok so after some quick googling we learned that you're supposed to paint on the watercolor block and THEN remove the page with a palette knife....so we probably weren't supposed to remove them separately to paint on them ;;;; WELL THE MORE YOU KNOW HAHA..... -Emily (ALSO BTW this is our first and only time doing an asmr-style vid!! Just wanted to try something new!)
Lol I just saw this video and it reminded me of the one video of artist called Scott Christian Sava who shows how to remove it 🤣 theres a corner which isnt glued so can rip it off from there when you r finished with the drawing.
For those of you who dont like listening to whispering or asmr in general, this was just a one-time attempt that we thought would be fun to try for a video!! So this is the only one youll have to avoid, we promise 🥹
12:30 this is exactly how I do pretty much everything. I always just tell myself "starting is the hardest part" and somehow it motivates me to get up and start whatever homework or task I have to do very quickly. It's so nice knowing I'm not the only one who thinks like this
idk if emily or daidus is gonna read this but i would love to see both of you guys trying out gouache paint! specifically the HIMI jelly gouache set because it's quite a new texture compared to their other mediums that they've tried out :)
this was amazing. daidus' whispers, emirichu's soft spoken and absolute chaos is the perfect example that ASMR is about a vibe, not about everything being perfectly quiet.
It actually makes me a bit happy you guys started using a moldable eraser. For a long time, I didn't know how to properly utilize a moldable eraser (besides fine lines and highlights) until I learned you can mold it into a column and roll it over your pencil sketch to clean the outlines before inking. Can't wait to see what you guys try next!
This channel has single handedly made me return to art after being afraid of falure for YEARS, thank you Daidus and Emily, It's gonna take time but I think drawing has become fun for me again❤
I appreciated you guys talking about starting art at an older age. I always liked art, but never really tried getting better until recently. With the discussion about dreams, I’m the opposite of Emily, I love them. I sometimes have some crazy ones that bring good laughs to my friends. It helps that I barely have nightmares. Keep up the great work!
Such a weird dichotomy! On the one hand you’re discussing such serious topics, but meanwhile I can’t stop laughing at Daedus attempting to whisper! He… doesn’t appear to know how, ha! I’m glad y’all have this a shot, it’s always fun to try new things! EDIT: You know? He actually got better over time! By the end he’s doing pretty well!
I really loved this topic, I personally really love dreaming, and every time I dream, it's something unexpected. It could be scary, beautiful, or sometimes just plain, but I find myself inspired by my dreams. So with the topic of finding inspiration and art blocks, what I love to do sometimes is being able to use my dreams as inspiration for some of my art!
As a late comer to art, I needed to hear this. I especially liked just saying "I don't like this" if I'm not satisfied with something I made. Not everything will be a home run.
I love the detail of the opening animation just played with the sounds and not the music! I love this channel and it’s really been a motivation for me to start drawing more again! I would want to try and work with different mediums as well. Also appreciate Daidus’ point that passion wanes, has its ups n downs. Thank you for this relaxing and entertaining vid :D
Also just commenting again at the end LOL, but I enjoyed the ASMR vid! it was pretty pleasant to have like in the background while I was doing chores. My dreams recently have been about work and the fear of getting to work late 😅😅😅
At 3:34, YOU‘RE NOT SUPPOSED TO TAKE OUT THE SHEETS. It‘s taped to the sides so the paper doesn’t get wavy when you wet it. You‘re supposed to cut it off when you‘re finished and the paper is dry
I grew up with your old videos but stopped watching a while ago, and only came to this one because yt kept recommending me spilled ink. honestly, this is exactly what I needed. thank you daidus and emily for your advice. seeing bigger artists go through the same struggles is super validating. as a younger artist, I feel like the discussion about art and social media hit home. I was lucky that I didn't consume online art until early teen years, but it's still really damaging, and it's difficult to get back into a healthy mindset afterwards. anyway I don't know how to wrap this up, but this video made me cry (in a good way) and I'll definitely keep my eyes on this channel for future videos!
I don't even listen to asmr, but I'm listening to this one for sure. It's soothing and giving me that head in the clouds feeling like when you sit in a doctors office.
Thank you for making this ❤❤❤ This really opened my eyes and motivated me to continue my art journey!! I loved this and I love ASMR even if it wasn’t the usual! I hope you guys make more like this :D But even if you don’t! I’ll definitely keep coming back to this viddie in the future! ❤
Finally got around to watching this while doing some room cleaning and made it to the end for a comment! The ASMR episode was good! I think the fact that you guys had a topic to focus on that you can be relaxed with helped a lot. I used to draw a lot as a kid but fell out of it. I'm turning 30 this year and want to learn how to draw again. I've been a fan of Emurichu for a few years now and seeing how clean her work was inspired me to try doing art again. I love this Spilled Ink channel as well! Thank you for another great video!
I was just binging this channel and the sudden upload surprised me! Emily has such a nice pucker to her voice if that makes any sense, the end of her words sound like pops, it fits super well with ASMR! I love this video >__
These pieces were beautiful! Daidus read my mind about Emily's looking very storybook-esque, which I love because it gives off a warm/comforting vibe. I experience a similar dream-scape Emily...dreaming can be so scary! (I definitely don't also listen to true crime before bed) Can't wait for the next video!!
I agree a lot on thinking "I only need to do one thing" and then after you have done that thing you usually can latch on to doing more stuff at the same time - since you have started already. This worked for me when I began going to the gym and when I work on my game development project as, like Daidus mentioned, I only need to start/open up my software with the goal of doing just one tiny or working for 5min as it usually ends up me doing an hour of exercise or working on my project for a couple of hours. Great episode! Would love to see/hear another episode like this if you guys could take about how you handle online criticism/feedback as artists and how to grow from that.
I've never really consistently watched either of you guys before, but I randomly stumbled across this channel and decided to draw along. I've struggled to enjoy art for the last like 5 years, but while listening to this video I just did two drawings I actually really enjoyed and am pretty happy with!! Thank you guys for being you, I love your energy a lot and I feel like the kind of carefree (as in, caring a bit less about making "good" art and more just about making art) and wholesome stuff you're putting out there is super healing for people struggling with art. I really appreciate it
I feel like any situation where you're making art as a job, or with any attention of others, has the potential to tie your self-worth to your art and make you spiral. Both irl and online. Cause like, even if you just get together with a bunch of friends to make art, you'd start to think of art as something you need to do really go.od at in order to impress your friends, or just to not disappoint them. And even if your job was something like animating in the industry, rather than doing TH-cam, your liveliho.od still relies on it, and that can really limit what you can do and are allowed to do. It's part of why commissions are also something a lot of artists struggle to do continuously. But being connected to others still inspires you. Without connections, even if it's just watching an anime or a fan animatic or something, most people would not pursue art in the first place. And I've seen time and time again of various artists continuing to make stuff simply because they know someone else will see it. We're social creatures, connections motivate us even when it comes to activities that could be done in solitude. And without the ability to turn art into a job, even less people will have the time or will for it because they can't turn this genuine passion into something sustainable. With the internet, all of this is still true. It's the same emotions, the same experiences, just in different flavors and textures. The internet absolutely has made art more accessible, and artists easier to reach. And because artists are human, we continue to feel all these things, from the inspiration to the jealousy to the low-self worth and spiraling to the burnout. That's why I get worried when people start going on about how social media affects artists. Cause yes, it's important to recognize these patterns in order to come to terms with them, and take your life or attitude regarding art in a different direction. But it can get preachy fast if we don't acknowledge that we'd still be going through these situations anyways without technology. It's just a fundamentally human experience in the realm of art. Art can not thrive in complete solitude, and it can not thrive where it is someone's job, and it can not thrive where one feels the pressure of being perceived. It's all a balancing act, and we inevitably fall through the cracks sometimes. Best thing we can do is take a step back to acknowledge that, and take however much time we need to get back on our feet. Through a break, through a change in scenery, through reflection of yourself, through trying something new, whatever works for any given person in any given situation. There's nothing inherently wrong with talking about how social media has affected artists. It's just that I feel like these conversations, unintentionally or otherwise, always paint social media as the net-negative One True Problem TM, and nobody seems to realize that we are human. We are the people on social media, we are the art communities, we are the problem and we are the solution. We as a collective will always experience these things, and that's okay, because we as individuals don't have to experience them forever.
Thank you guys for the inspiration and positivity, I'm not a physical artist but I think a lot of this applies to making videos for TH-cam as well! Been in a bit of a downswing lately with my channel so your chat was motivating to listen to~ also for the record, I liked the ASMR I feel like we're at a slumber party just whispering before bed LOL.
I like your videos so much guys! You are really make me feel better about my art game, i was practicing whole year and didn't get the results i wanted, so a video like this is really nice Thank you!
Honestly, I like the video. It felt cozy and warm, like if you had a blanket while watching Saturday afternoon cartoons, while it was raining. Also, your videos honestly just spark an old passion for me to draw and just ended up practicing drawing some eyes before heading to work.
I love that you guys look for the bright side in everything and give such amazing advice, your videos inspire me to want to explore more about art and push myself to do better !
I am so damn glad that i saw conners video just before this and got to know about this new channel spilled ink, as an artist i feel so much comfortable just listening to similar mindsets and encouraging advice and the funny moments screams whispers LOLOL they are a bonus XD really enjoyed the vid! Encouraged me a lot to keep trying out stuff!
Ive been up all night painting, and watching this episode at this time was just perfect, it's so calm right now and hearing you guys whisper, giggling, yelling in lowercase and sharing positive advice and experience felt as if I was sitting with both of you near a campfire, I genuinely enjoyed this video a lot just like your other videos, I was so caught off guard by the intro because I tend to immediately click on your video without a second thought, so hearing the little noises and realizing it was ASMR just got me excited even tho I'm not someone who's into ASMR, I would not mind you guys making more videos like this!! Thank you for posting another long video btw it helps me stay focused on my art!!
giggling at the first but very real attempt at asmr, it wasn’t terrible either! honestly i felt calmer as the video went on! Both of your pieces were also so gorgeous! loved the different approaches to them, but the explanations made sense and i hope both of you (esp Emily) can get better sleep. im not a digital or traditional artist, but i am a writer, and this video still definitely stuck with me! i was a bit wary about being bored going into it, as sometimes art advice like this can be very superficial, but this channel has been very open and genuine, so of course that applied to this video too! It was easy to connect to both of you because of your experiences, and i appreciate the care put into every video! for me, i tend to dream a lot too, so i end up getting a very mixed bag of emotions when i wake up. Some of the dreams are fun, but some of them definitely leave me waking up feeling tired
Your words on past work made me tear up. I never thought of it like that and I definitely don't think that those who enjoyed my previous work had trash taste/opinions. This was eye opening Thank you ;w; Also, I'm with you on the nightmare issue. I consistently have loop nightmares or nightmares where, while I'm aware it's a dream, I can't wake myself up and it's so frustrating. TV background noise helps with either no dreams or at least the nightmares aren't as bad....it's why I hate the 'Are you still there?' a lot of streaming services have implemented.
Tbh, I really needed to listen to this. I’ve recently been getting back into making art more professionally due to finances, and how commissions would really help me in that area, it’s also because I miss it and want to get back into that passion. Lately however, I’ve been realizing just how long I haven’t done anything creatively like this and how I’m frustrated with my speed, precision, skill, as well as not really remembering how to do basic things like my line-art weight or posing. But hearing all these things, hearing about motivation, what the internet does to you as an artist (the good and the bad), how there’s always opportunities ahead of you as well as no matter how long I’ve posted or sold anything, my skills and effort will be there forever. I am way more motivated than I have been, and I plan on listening to this vid whenever I’m down when it comes to art and creativity as a whole. This whole channel has made me realize I am capable of getting out of my comfort zone and honing skills that I have no experience in. Because two artists I really look up to are doing that right in front of me, and I could never be more grateful. Thanks spilled ink💕🦑🍓🖋️
I just want to say that I absolutely love your guys art so much! And as young artist it was very inspiring hearing you guys talk about art on the internet and comparison with art cus I tend to compare my art with a lot of people. Another side note is that I have extremely vivid dream and I love them. It’s like I’m 24/7 being entertained❤️ but that’s all and again I love you guys so much and appreciate every single upload you guys do
Not that long ago, I was feeling burnt out from art and not enjoying the process at all because it was hard for me to trust the progress. I’m also not very patient. However, your videos have helped me enjoy art more, and I’m also trying new techniques. It’s great and fun B) Thank you guys a lot alsoI love the content you create.
This was so helpful, I've been feeling bad and struggling with alot of the point you guys discussed, this really cheered me up and has really helped me to keep going, thank you 💜💙 you guys are awesome
Favorite episode ever! I’ve been watching ASMR for years, and this episode was like heaven for me! Also helped with my motivation for art, best advice I think I’ve ever heard. 💖
I 100% agree with everything Emily and Daidus has said in this video! Whenever I have an art block I just take a break and then comeback whenever I feel like drawing again. Also for people who want to post their social media online be prepared and don't take negative comments to heart. A helpful tip I do is to just draw something you really like and not to record a video of your work and only post the picture of your art on social media if you really feel comfortable to do it. It is definitely stressful posting on Tik Tok because of the algorithm and is definitely annoying at times, so breath, relax, and try to do something else and share to friends, family or other people who are supportive to you. It is always hard but don't let art be something that affects your mental, physical and emotional health, do it for fun! Enjoy art and creativity, don't let social media ruin it for you! Excited for the next episode of Spilled Ink, I've been following and keeping the series of videos, love the content and chill vibes from you guys!
As an experiment this was fine, but I LOVE both of your laughs 😂 Your laughs are contagious, so I prefer when your bantering and laughing out loud. Spilled ink has become my ‘go to’ when I’m feeling down, because I smile through every episode and can’t stay sad. Thanks for all you do 😊
I love the way you two's pieces turned out, we can really see the improvment throughout the videos ! (This is a real encouragement comment lol, keep it up)
I’m not even normally an asmr person but this video has been one of my favorites. As a very very amateur artist in her late twenties, all the messaging in this video has really hit home.. and has left me feeling more inspired and reminded me to be gentler to myself when it comes to my art
I used to draw a lot throughout high school and I just stopped when I got into uni and moved on to digital art then slowly stopped digital too when I started working full time. Watching your videos really inspired me and got me picking up traditional art again (from colour pencils and painting) and it's made me rediscover the fun and joys of drawing again so thank you to you two and Ichika for starting this channel!!!
I NEED MORE OF THIS! This was sooo nice to listen to while I was working on a huge tedious piece. I like most of my dreams! When I do have them, they usually are things that happen in the future or that has a possibility of happening
Dreams is such a versatile prompt wow. I love both so much. Daidus’ is so anime for sure, absolutely nailed what you’re going for. Emily’s is so soft and nice. I love the way you drew the tear so much! You guys did amazing
I love how Daidus is so supporttive and goofy with Emily and its so comforting to just hear I guess I love you guys and I love watching your videos its so comforting and refreshing especially in this video where you talked about advice and thoughts about art and what advice for artists I just love it and you guys definetly inspire so many people and you guys definetly inspire me too :D
Omg I was smiling the whole video!! Btw for the first question " How do you get over art block?" Well sometime this help with people, Is to just stop drawing overall get a break. Look around or watch this channel lol! It helps me though or what also helps me is daidus answer. Having inspo helps alot!!
Hi! I just wanted to let you guys know that the reason the paper was kinda like glued together was because if you use regular water color with water on a regular sheet of paper, the paper tends to roll up on the corners and sides of the sheet like a bridge, so the glued down part keeps it from doing that,so you draw, ink, etc. and when your done with your masterpiece, you just rip the paper like what you did, and now you have your drawing separated from the sketchbook! I hope I helped!❤ love your videos btw, keep being amazing!
emilys style is much more consistent and clean, but every time daidus makes like a serious piece of art it just blows my mind; im genuinely so impressed how the most beautiful art just appears out of nowhere
I love how both of your water color paintings turned out, I don't dream too much but when I do it's mostly just like a regular day and when I wake up I'm confused on what I've actually done vs what was just a dream. I personally not too into listening people whisper for too long, but I love your Videos so I pushed through
Could you guys do more of these asmr episodes? There really calming to listen to and really inspire me to draw along with you guys!! (its almost as if im listening to a podcast)
R.I.P. to all the ears who have to listen to me scream-whispering the whole video
Lol
lmao
We love the content 🎉😂😂😂😊😅
lol
Thank you.
Ok so after some quick googling we learned that you're supposed to paint on the watercolor block and THEN remove the page with a palette knife....so we probably weren't supposed to remove them separately to paint on them ;;;; WELL THE MORE YOU KNOW HAHA..... -Emily
(ALSO BTW this is our first and only time doing an asmr-style vid!! Just wanted to try something new!)
Huh
Huh
The way you guys cut HALF the papers apart had me dead LOLLL 😅
Lol I just saw this video and it reminded me of the one video of artist called Scott Christian Sava who shows how to remove it 🤣 theres a corner which isnt glued so can rip it off from there when you r finished with the drawing.
I feel that can happen a lot the more you work with more specialized art supplies.
i think emirichu's asmr voice feels very cozy / quiet day, daidus' feels like we're sneaking around from our mom
Perfectly balanced

I aint a big fan of ASMR but Im not skipping a Spilled Ink episode
im enojoying it so far lol, you both sound like kids trying to avoid parents

*you should read the ad read like this in every single video, maybe a couple of words that kind of sounds like a slur but not really*
Understandable, but the concept of ASMR art WHILE talking about art as a whole is quite interesting and I’m glad to see this idea come to fruition ❤
I feel like I'm in a quiet classroom and I'm next to two classmates whispering.
This one got me 😂
I think this one is the best...💀
I CANT STOP LAUGHING CUZ IT SOUNDS LIKE YALL R HIDING SOMEWHERE 😭
just imagine putting on a spilled ink vid during fall season, just getting cozy while it's rainy and dark out.
300th like 😈
I knew this day would come.
Daidus and Emely just sound like their robbing a bank (very fitting)

One is called whispering and the other soft speaking, completely different in the world of ASMR hahaha

I really love that the intro doesn't have any music. Its a fun way of showing that this video is different from the usual ones
I was confused why the intro didn't have music, and then I realized, and that's so clever and cute XD
this was amazing. daidus' whispers, emirichu's soft spoken and absolute chaos is the perfect example that ASMR is about a vibe, not about everything being perfectly quiet.

Emily soft spoken voice relax me a lot! ❤ and daidus slow hand movement while drawing too ❤

4:12 I don't know why but I found hilarious Emily yelling at Daidus while whispering
Daidus should have an ASMR podcast
Both of their art pieces were beautiful and personal id love to see more art like this
Thank you guys for the inspiration and positivity, I'm not a physical artist but I think a lot of this applies to making videos for TH-cam as well! Been in a bit of a downswing lately with my channel so your chat was motivating to listen to~ also for the record, I liked the ASMR I feel like we're at a slumber party just whispering before bed LOL.
I like your videos so much guys! You are really make me feel better about my art game, i was practicing whole year and didn't get the results i wanted, so a video like this is really nice
Thank you!
Honestly, I like the video. It felt cozy and warm, like if you had a blanket while watching Saturday afternoon cartoons, while it was raining. Also, your videos honestly just spark an old passion for me to draw and just ended up practicing drawing some eyes before heading to work.
The topics they discussed here go so well with the soft vibe that asmr brings, thank you for such an endearing concept. I had lots of fun watching 💞🍃
i dont do art but the advice y'all gave us should be considered as life advice as well.. thank you 😭 made my day!¡!!!
ASMR has never been for me, but it's cool to see you experiment with different stuff.
I've fallen asleep to this video 2 nights in a row...I have yet to see the end
I enjoy these watercolour episodes so much! Watching you guys just makes me want to grab bruch and paper and start drawing myself.
giggling at the first but very real attempt at asmr, it wasn’t terrible either! honestly i felt calmer as the video went on!
This was eye opening
Thank you ;w;
Also, I'm with you on the nightmare issue.
It’s great and fun B) Thank you guys a lot alsoI love the content you create.
watching spilled ink heals my pained artist soul
Honestly I’m not the kind of person to listen to stuff like asmr but this was actually kind of nice tbh
Also great advice btw so thanks for that
This was so helpful, I've been feeling bad and struggling with alot of the point you guys discussed, this really cheered me up and has really helped me to keep going, thank you 💜💙 you guys are awesome
Favorite episode ever! I’ve been watching ASMR for years, and this episode was like heaven for me! Also helped with my motivation for art, best advice I think I’ve ever heard. 💖
I love getting the Mandela Catalogue whisper experience on this here art channel
Honestly i loved your ASMR! Great video, great tips, great drawings!
As an experiment this was fine, but I LOVE both of your laughs 😂 Your laughs are contagious, so I prefer when your bantering and laughing out loud. Spilled ink has become my ‘go to’ when I’m feeling down, because I smile through every episode and can’t stay sad. Thanks for all you do 😊
I've been having pretty bad art block, this really helps!
As an ASMR lover this is the best video you could have ever made. And you guys did greatly!!!
I love the way you two's pieces turned out, we can really see the improvment throughout the videos !
(This is a real encouragement comment lol, keep it up)
i love this!!! PLEASE do more asmr content, it was so calming, and it's really great to hear about these topics from people my age
10 SECONDS IS WILD
Dreams is such a versatile prompt wow. I love both so much. Daidus’ is so anime for sure, absolutely nailed what you’re going for. Emily’s is so soft and nice. I love the way you drew the tear so much! You guys did amazing
I love how Daidus is so supporttive and goofy with Emily and its so comforting to just hear I guess I love you guys and I love watching your videos its so comforting and refreshing especially in this video where you talked about advice and thoughts about art and what advice for artists I just love it and you guys definetly inspire so many people and you guys definetly inspire me too :D
*whispers* I really like Emily’s painting. The crying sleeping girl is so cute love her strawberry pjs
Omg I was smiling the whole video!! Btw for the first question " How do you get over art block?" Well sometime this help with people, Is to just stop drawing overall get a break. Look around or watch this channel lol! It helps me though or what also helps me is daidus answer. Having inspo helps alot!!
Watching you separate the watercolor block was really painful, loved the video as always ! :D
These chill vibes are a great change of pace from the frenetic goofiness.
emilys style is much more consistent and clean, but every time daidus makes like a serious piece of art it just blows my mind; im genuinely so impressed how the most beautiful art just appears out of nowhere
I love how both of your water color paintings turned out, I don't dream too much but when I do it's mostly just like a regular day and when I wake up I'm confused on what I've actually done vs what was just a dream.
I personally not too into listening people whisper for too long, but I love your Videos so I pushed through
I loved this so much 🥹 and I really needed it. And the artwork is beautiful, Emily’s is so dreamy and Daidus’ is so piercing!
Could you guys do more of these asmr episodes? There really calming to listen to and really inspire me to draw along with you guys!! (its almost as if im listening to a podcast)
Why did this give me the tingles especially the box cutters 😂😂 Love this channel so much ❤❤
I love how you guys are always willing to try new things, its very inspiring.
I hope you try making food art one day
I honestly really enjoyed the whisper AMSR, despite not being crazy into ASMR. Added to the chill therapeutic vibe
Impeccable timing, I wanted something to play in the background while I work haha
Also, the whispered yells when they were opening the paper 😭😭
