For me it's Black Box, they made police chases fun in both Hot Pursuit 2 and Most Wanted 2005. They understood car culture and how to deliver those vision into reality in a video game, plus i would like to add, NFS The Run imo was an interesting take for Black Box, because we rarely see racing games take the Highway Racing style approach which was something that's popular in the 90's Arcade, such as Outrun 2 and Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune series.
Criterion on the other hand, are also talented, Hot Pursuit 2010 was something that i enjoyed from the Original Criterion Team, although it lacks manual transmission, i still had fun with the game. :)
Nfs hot pursuit (2010) and most wanted 2012 were quite frankly my most played on the 360
For sure Black Box, I loved MW '05, Carbon and The Run
after CARBON there is no NFS for ME
How could say that tbh honest carbon and prostreet are neck n neck to each other in terms of ranking
I can already tell you make your entire personality these games lol
it would be awesome to return NFS into tha hands of EA Canada for its 30th anniversary because without them, there would be no NFS
High Stake was my 1st NFS game but on PC
IMO my favorite NFS games ever: Underground 1 (BB), III and High Stakes (EA Canada), Hot Pursuit 2010 (Criterion) and Heat (Ghost). The hours and hours of memories and fun which I spent with this game is countless, and I have played almost every NFS game from 1 to Unbound
I feel obligated to play The NFS - Hot Pursuit 2 now. I like how you did it. For me:
BB - Underground 2
Ghost - Heat
Criterion - Hot Pursuit Remastered* (there's an asterisk here because it's really a Burnout game)
I’m only 20. I’ll be 21 in March so I didn’t grow up with the older need for speed games so my favorite is criterion and ghost games and my favorite racing games is the need for speed franchise. I’ve played video games since I was eight years old. And I’m obsessed with cars I’m a car guy.
So which is your favorite? It's a generational thing. I'm a 93 baby and the 2 I'm rolling with the most are Underground 2 and Heat
if EA sees this video, I would highly hope they try their best to revive and get back the EA black box team even tho its guaranteed impossible.
imo Blackbox did good then Ghost games the second
If the new skate will be a success, then I'm pretty sure EA will let Full Circle (former Black Box Team) get the Job done for the next title... At least I hope so
For me Ghost and Black Box knew how to make a good NFS game, I was so sad when EA announced the Shut Down of Ghost Games and gave the Franchise back to Criterion since Criterion never made a decently Good NFS game, I had some hope for the Unbound to carry the Legacy Heat left us, but they only copy pasted the game and made it even worse.
So if Black Box and Ghost team up they could make a good game !
Also NFS The Run is a masterpiece and deserves a Sequel.
I agree with you and yeah nfs the run was really underrated
Criterion should do what they are good at, making Burnout games
@@markdebruyn1212exactly. That's how I see their version of Hot Pursuit
Thank you. Glad somebody said it. Blackbox and Ghost made great games. 2015 and Payback had issues but the good by far outweighed the bad
Imo you didn't go into enough detail about the first 5 Need for Speed games. They had an amazing feel to them and incredible original soundtracks. Imo, Need for Speed 2 is one of the funniest racing games you can play (just look at Monolithic Studios), while High Stakes gives you the full "old" Need for Speed experience. High Stakes was extremely ahead of its time, and I like it more than the Underground games
Thanks for a critic and yeah you're right first 5 titles were truly revolutionary and could probably do a separate video on them ;)
I love the Hot Pursuit games, the original (NFS3), Hot Pursuit 2 on PC and GameCube (I don't like the PS2 version as much) and the 2010 throwback game from Criterion. We need more games like those, fast exotic cars with cool original soundtrack from Rom Di Prisco.
Ofc black box is legend
This is a very good video and makes me really question why EA stepped away from black box studios. Should do a video on them & other successful game studios , very informational
Thanks!
Yeah its really unfortunate how black box went down :(
They not exactly stepped away, they milked Black Box to death in their shortsighted greed.
On the surface level it's a reasonable but cold business decision to terminate Black Box, as their sales numbers really did underperform by the end of their lifecycle.
BUUUT! If you want to run a businessright for an extended time, you have to look deeper than that, which they never did. Black Box didn't underperform, because they lost their mojo, but because EA was moronic and with the technological progress, they did not adjust the release windows to account for expanding development needs.
-Carbon underperformed, as it was too short... Why was Black Box still chained to a yearly release schedule on a console generation change!? (strike1)
-Pro Street underperformed, because despite being a good game, it was way too different and that's one part fandom toxicity, one part stupid marketing. Black Box was right to branch out, to prevent their UG/MW openworld formula going stale. BUT! Given the fan adoration of that time, they should have communicated it more clearly, that this is a branching out, not a full on franchise direction change. Maybe they were too blind, but maybe the higher ups at EA, but it wasn't practice back then, to show plan in the pipeline beyond the next game, and this was the exact time where they should've. (and yeah, I'm easy to talk from hindsight, fear of expectation of next game overshadopws and sabotages PŐro Street sales. But the path they took shook the fans faith in franchise identity, so I'd have checked how the other route goes)
-Undercover, a game on that scope needs more than one year in the oven, without a doubt, otherwise we get the buggy mess we unsurprisingly got, and that obviously effects the sales.
-The Run: magical, but short... you either give them more development time, or release it in that state as a 40$ experimental spinoff side dish. Not a full price game as is... the soul is there, so it turned into a cult classic, but the disastrous initial sales were visible from a hundred miles away.
Just should have let them cook, Black Box knew their craft.
Porsche Unleashed...
Personally my top3: High Stakes, MW05, Unbound. Even though I'm thankful for all these hard working people making this game series. Definitely wouldn't be into cars soo much. I bought my DC4 Integra solely loving to drive that car in NFS Pro Street 😂 can't complain tho 😉
Damn nice, integra is definitely underrated JDM. I love this car as well 👌
Unbound on top 3 xDDD what kind of man would put a greedy for money DLC era game in his top 3, considering we have Underground 1 & 2 behind us, hot pursuit series and even carbon (which i dont even like). In the name of those legendary titles i gave, delete ur comment
@@ivank1029 If u just take away all the extra driving effects tho unbound is pretty smooth, I will say Heat was better but just bc those games are older and more nostalgic does not mean the newer games deserve hate, to people just getting in to need for speed the newer games are going to be those kinds of games for them so afterall it is just about opinion.
Criterion the best company that make Burnout and Need for Speed games
I honestly think it's criterion cuz it isn't ded.then BB.ghost is on the ropes and EA.... Idk
imo top three in franchise are MW 05- Underground2- Carbon. So i can say black box is best.
I like nfs mw 2005/2012, nfs carbon , hot pursuit 2010 and rivals
Classic and Black Box era are the best, Ghost era feels like the previous 2 eras put in a blender and metal bits got caught in it
nowadays, it feels more like the Classic era people are getting spoiled, while Black Box era enjoyers still doesn't have a proper Most Wanted successor
I'm 30 years old and gotta play EA Canada games. In order overall:
1. Blackbox
2. Ghost
3. Criterion
Criterion only did 1 good game and that I consider a Burnout game with NFS stamped on it being Hot Pursuit
Ohh look who I found here!
Your name sounded familiar, so not gonna repeat our Hot Pursuit 2010 vs Unbound personal preference dance... but it's pretty great noticing people not just among creators, but commenter's too. Damn, I went deep into NFS rabbit hole this year XD
@janosbrutyo2835 To each it's own. At 1 point I really enjoyed those 2 games but as I'm binging the NFS franchise, I really don't like those 2 games and MW05 and tolerate U1. It seems as if a particular developer for rubberbanding helped make NFS Blackbox games being mainly U1 and MW05 seeing that rubberbanding is awful in those games compared to U2 and Carbon
My top 3: High stakes with first career mod, porsche with evolution mod and pro street for really good physics between arcade/simulation and tunning
Nice choice!
Best NFS era.... Was when i stopped buying them, because after Most Wanted, the Hardware got more powerful and the games became a f#####g joke.
Indeed... But nfs2015 and Heat aren't that bad. I think they are the best what this generation of consoles had to offer. But on the other side they can't achieve what Mw05 did.
I still liked Carbon after that the series went really downhill for me
yea... so many iconic racing games, what u cant buy from any online market... just dont understand why
Everybody would be playing them instead of newer titles lol
I think it has mostly to do with the licensed soundtrack
@@markdebruyn1212 Damn yeah maybe you're right never thought of this before
@@fueledwithboost I came up to with this theorie as i read some time ago that MCII was also removed from steam for the same reason
Me ProStreet.
Overhype mw as much as you want, i still think nfs 2015 is the best one
Dang, what a shame I'm destined to miss 2015. Just refunded it 2 days ago on the day of purchase, since the sound wasn't working on my PC, no matter what I did. Guess it's watching YT playthrough purgatory for me then.
But Underground 3 - Rebootio Drift seemed like a troubled but magical game to me.
Underground 2 always stood above the fan favorite MW'05 for me, and since I fell off with being dissapointed in HP2010, only Underground 4 - On Spider-Verse Tides (officially known as Unbound) bought me back and started working my way back on the Ghost titles since then.
After nfs 2015 nfs stopped being nfs
Nfs mostwanted by black box is the best
if you add a comment about nfs unbound nfs will swear at you bruh
Black box bros, all the way 😌
i see nfs pro street the best car tunging cars events driving phyxe
or nfs carbon nfs hot pursiut is relly bad
It's an old game
@@misanthrope5063 So?
@@recluse9978 so try to be fair?

@@adamkhater8526 you're acting like a kid... You're embarrassing. I just commented "it's an old game" and you started insulting me?? Just watch your language a little or otherwise you gotta suffer the consequences for your behavior.
NFS world forever
nfs run is a masterpiece tbh
And underrated af
Whoever made rivals deserves to be banned from even editing a video ever again after that piece of crap
EA canada hands down...
NFS 2012 mostly positive reviews? It was the blandest NFS game ever released, it was disappointing considering what NFS games EA made before.
Well I didn’t like it much either. But some people still say its the best need for speed game lol
@@fueledwithboost well, if it had heat handling, possible to play it offline, more cars and memorable antagonist(as each icon are just friendly rivals, instead being villain like Navarro, Eddie, Razor, Darius, Ryo, Chase Linh, or Marcus Blackwell)
NFS MW2012 as a good game? Which critic said that? That's the perfect example of ruining a great name!
Underground was the death of NFS franchise it became ricer track after
BLACKBOX. their no question about it.
Criterion trying to turn NFS into burnout. which left the franchise into a identity crisis forever for what made NFS stand out from the rest of the arcade racing games to being a mediocre racing franchise today. Which is why I really hating what they did back then and they should've just stuck to making Burnout games.
Ghost Game have a great foundation for NFS2015. Instead of improving apond the issues with 2015 with it sequel. They instead has this mentality of "two steps forward, two steps back" with their sequels. They will remove features and content and then the next game they will bring back those features and content. Rinse and repeat. I was like they were given the wrong feedback and that resulted them getting shutdown because they weren't reaching the expectations EA give them.
Well said. I agree with you on every part!
I don't agree with that of Criterion being the main or even the only responsible for the identity crisis of the franchise.
In fact, everything started before HP2010 with Pro Street.
Which ironically, was developed by BlackBox
@@AP_Gaming52Hot Pursuit 2010 is Burnout Revenge 2
@@AP_Gaming52I agree
😂😂If 2012 most wanted was name burn out the brand-name need for speed wouldve been ruined .. 2012 most wanted is far far ahead of its time 🙄 The underground theme is dead/lame nowadays to me
Even if Rivals was named burn out the brand-name need for speed would have been ruined Rivals is far far ahead of its time
Black box did best then ghost don't like any of games qurtion even made accept burnouts they done balls up with unbound more like rebound be prepared for micro transactions added why ghost pulled out of ea 😂 no bullshit
EA PLS ADD M3 GTR MAIN CAR RAZOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EA PLS PLS REMASTER MOST WANTED !!! PLS ADD
It's not razor's car
Is this a joke
EA PLS!!!!!! EA !!!!!!!!! MOST WANTED 2005 IS BESTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easy, Electronic Arts Canada.
The first four NFS were the best of all the games.
Aka black box?
With them they brought racing games to a whole other level
@@misanthrope5063 Bruh Black Box weren't in the 90s
