The developer experience is really awesome and truly a joy to use! Please create more videos on 3.0
Yes it is! Most videos going forward will be 3.0
Really appreciate your tutorials. I like the way you explain things. Cheers!
Thanks mate, happy to hear that :)
This is great, thank you. Looking forward to watching your Payload 3.0 content as well, as I think it will be a part of my stack as soon as it's stable.
Make the audio a bit louder please
I love all the work you’ll have put into making this happen! I’m very excited to integrate payload in many of my apps!
You guys could definitely have a niche here, please keep it up!
Thanks! We definitely will :)
Thank you for going through the basics. This is really helpful for a newbie like me!
If you ever have time, It'd be awesome with an update on how to use s3 with payload3.0beta
Congratulations! You have shown in a practical and objective way the most important changes in version 3.0. Just what I was looking for! Cheers from Brazil! 😁
I am pleased with the work you are doing to get developers educated on this developer friendly CMS. Keep the good stuff coming. Thank you for your effort.
So exciting! I’m looking forward to build my first next.js websites with payload but also creating a dashboard on another project. Would be handy to have more tutorials!! ❤
Awesome, it is pain solver for front end developer, could you please create more project base video? Cheers
hey im really enjoying these series,I want to kindly ask you to keep uploading with the new 3.0 beta,I really need help wrapping my head around it
Thank you so much for this video. im a newbie and its helped me a lot
Thanks a lot for this video. What I would love to see is a tutorial video where we build a full project from start to finish.
Sure thing! What type of project are you thinking about?
It can be a completely dynamic website. It can be an SEO-friendly project with dynamic sections and images. In short, a project that describes a website from start to finish, including a landing page and blog pages, could be nice.
Could you do a video on styling your payload interface using tailwindcss? I think it can look like the front end so the user doesn't know the difference. Great job guys!
Sure thing. What do you have in mind specifically?
how do you handle images?
i have got 3.0 working to upload files to my db, i can see them on the local admin page. but once deployed the url's are still local and the images are not rendering. any idea?
Hey, by default payload stores uploads on the file system, that only really works if you deploy on your own VM. You almost always want to use plugins for storing uploads on S3, Vercel blob (coming soon I think), bunny cdn, etc. We'll make a video about it in the future!
@@AllAboutPayload i see. i tried following the instructions on the s3 adapter in your other video, but i guess it's different in 3.0. it gives an error about webpack.admin
Great job, I love it! Could you please show how to create a very simple site with images from scratch? Using e.g. free vercel Blob for images and their Postgres, then deploying with vercel. Full site for free with latest solutions would draw attention to Payload I hope, keep up good work. Thank you :)
Hey, that's a great video idea indeed! Put it on our list
@@AllAboutPayload if you could also present how to use localization in Payload with this site, like having it in 2 languages (one of the most demanded features), I think it could skyrocket :D
Wonderful work you guys
I”m new to Payload and struggle to create custom lexical block/ features ( embed youtube in my case) would be nice to have video for that on version 3
Yess, a video about Richtext is coming up!
We need more your videos are so good
Appreciate it! What would you like to see next? :)
@@AllAboutPayload I'd love to see some more step-by-step tutorial videos on small sites, for example the blog you worked out in this video but more advanced/comprehensive and of course with payload 3.
Amazing video! I have a question: how this will impact the usage costs on Vercel?
Great question! I can't give you an answer yet, but I'll monitor the usage for my projects
Instead of changing both tailwind and postcss configs to *.cjs I instead only converted the postcss config to json (postcss.config.json) and that worked fine, while my tailwind could stay as tailwind.config.ts
You're absolutely right, works like a charm!
Lovely. Can you please show how to parse lexical to JSX / HTML ?
Hey mate, yes that's on our list for upcoming videos! :)
Hi, I tried this tutorial and found it to be very amazing. However, have you encountered any issues with MongoDB and Vercel ? For me, the build failed...
Please use TS. A tutorial in TS is complete for JS users. A tutorial in JS is *incomplete* for TS users.
Nice. Is it possible to host Payload locally and deploy new data/articles to the live frontend?
Hi, there is an e-commerce tutorial that was created about 5 months ago, that am currently following here on TH-cam where the tutor used payload as his backend. He integrated payload in an already created next.js app by running "npm install payload". But i tried doing that and i get errors and i wonder if maybe payload cannot be integrated into next.js like that anymore and running "npx create-payload-app" is the only way to add payload to next.js. Can you please confirm that.
Hey, as far as I'm aware the tutorial uses payload version 2. In V2, payload is just a normal react/express app. You can still run npm install payload, but npx create-payload-app is the fastest way to get started
Is there any plan to be able to have tailwind configured by default in the installer?
Can anyone guide if this is SSR or ISG?
Great video, though the sound was awfully low.
What is for? Is it a cms?
Yep. payloadcms.com
Tutorial with SvelteKit?
Awesome
good, but please use TS, i know js for making people easier to understand but payload ts problem is harder to find for the solution in the internet or community rather than js problem.
Is there a reason you don't use typescript ??
that's great. any news when will it be stable?
A great video would be how to deploy in a vm for payload 2.0
Absolutely, do you have any specific vm / provider in mind?
amo aquí
How do you get the prefilled text as you code
Github Copilot :)
Auth next please!
can you please fix you audio set up the content is fire but we just cant hear you
Hi, I'm web development noob. I am teaching kids educational things. I'm thinking about making Learning Management System which has like scores and exams. Is payload CMS suitable for this purpose? If you can make tutorial about this, I'd really appreciate it!
Hey, Payload is perfectly suited for building LMS systems. Although it will be challenging without prior experience in web-development
Tool is great but it still has some issues if installing with pnpm
Ah, that's unfortunate. It's still in beta though so you can expect the issues to be resolved. If you want, go ahead and create a post in the payload discord, they will probably fix it pretty fast.
The tool you are teaching is written in typescript and you are writing in Javascript. Which works but it is wrong. You should be teaching the types as well. Otherwise the users won't have proper intellisense.
Please see our new series 😇
Big yikes, nextjs isn't the only framework there is and doing this just really showed where you stand for your future. Make it framework agnostic and don't make it at all, frameworks come and go.
Payload v3 is framework agnostic, he's just using next.js here but could have used sveltekit or just for example
Yes, payload is a nextjs app now, and it's very convenient to use nextjs for your frontend as well. You absolutely don't have to though. Payload can still run independently as a backend and provides REST & GraphQL endpoints. You can run your toaster on Payload (if your toaster can call rest apis)
Hi, thank you for your video
how ever why you edit it and no show all steps, such as @17.57 after finish the components RecentBlogArticles.jsx, directly show it works on the frontend homepage , no show the step fill it on page.jsx, its small step, but no shown it , will take beginners puzzle hours:why it can show directly
Generic Terminal.app. Could not unsee ;)
(I realise that it's a separate local ('youtube') account for recording videos)
