Played this game yesterday, made it to the end of the tournament with 0L and 20W and lost to dd kong 2-1, this game really takes skill, you managed to do this in extreme mode, Nice! Any tips?

It appears to me you were eliminated during the elimination round. I don’t know how good of advice I can give you but I hope I can help! Were you wanting general advice or advice against diddy Kong?

@@thelogicalant3986 Trust me, I understand. I had my fair share of eliminations. I definitely understand how frustrating it is to have to start over. Just because you lose, that does not mean you do not have skill.
One general tip I have is not to rely on one sidekick or the captain all the time for scoring. There are plenty of situations where your team will be reduced, especially on fields like Thunder Island and Crystal Canyon or dealing with captain abilities that can discombobulate your team such as Peach’s and Diddy Kong’s.
CPU captains typically use their special item at random unless they have the ball, which means they’re more likely to use it. Be very careful when Diddy Kong has his captain ability. When that happens, try to keep other players away from his beam of light. I know that can be tricky with the CPU sidekicks.
@@thelogicalant3986 Personally, I choose a teammates that can cover each other’s weaknesses. Know that lighter, faster characters are more able to intercept the ball. Try your hardest to keep tabs on the opposing team’s sidekicks. You can kick or pass the ball (steal) from the opposing team when they are about to shoot or pass. And, I try to play as aggressively as I can in the sense of trying to be prepared for what the CPU may do next.
Another tip is to be careful of hitting the opponent constantly, as if you do so and they do not have the ball, they will be awarded an item. As you may already know, the further the difference between the goals made between the team, the more likely the losing side will be given captain abilities or stars. Never I have I ever seen the CPU, whether on normal or extreme, use the star on anyone except the captain. Non-defensive captains will typically aim for a megastrike or try to shoot the ball. A defensive captain may try to deke (teleport) their way into the net.
Diddy Kong is very light and nimble, but he lacks defense and shooting skills, so it should be hard to strike him with into a fence. Even so, playmakers try to bait you into making the wrong move, so please be aware of when he may land to try to aim your attacks, if that makes sense.

@@thelogicalant3986 Another general tip is to always be on the lookout for opportunities to steal and score. Try to be vigilant and take chances when you see them. And, try to prevent the team from posssssing the ball as much as you can. Be comfortable with all sidekicks and captains and be familiar with their strengths and weaknesses.
Can you do a play through with Bowser Jr? He was my favourite character back in the day.

I’ll be doing Bowser Jr. after him. I have my own team roster, but is there one in particular you want me to play with? Any specific teammates?

Personally, I love all the characters, but I will say Bowser is one of my favorite captains amongst the roster.
