You are a good teacher. I also teach Chinese (ling-lingchinese.com) and I was originally from Taiwan as well. I enjoy watching your videos. Many interesting Chinese language topics! I do want to warn the English speakers' learners that overuse of particles such as 嘛,哦,啦,etc. may make a woman sound too girlish and a man sound too feminine. To be honest, I personally can't stand girls talking with so many particles as seen in many Taiwanese TV dramas. Too girlish sounding to me.

    • @5anjuro

One should write an essay or make a video on "Sa jiao". I think it was difficult for me to understand as a westerner and while some Taiwan girls think it is cute, I get the sense it reinforces submissive roles of females in society.

Interesting differences indeed. In China at least, while there’s a technical aspect to these particles, however it’s not really that in depth. It’s more just depending on the region. In 東北 they use a lot of 呀 for many things. No one really things about the endings too much that is.
