Hi John! Thank you! That's kind of you to say. I hear the voice thing fairly often. One of these days, if a situation arises where I am singing, you may like that too. I have a big, powerful singing voice. Thanks for watching/commenting! Spread the word of my channel if you would. Word of mouth helps a great deal! Thanks! John, have a great weekend! Take care, -Mark
Wow, nice bulbs. My fav tools hori hori and Japanese hand sickle. I grow hardneck. Never tried softneck. I was visiting WI in 15' bought garlic bulbs fom Keene organics in Sun Prairie. Awesome family; source from local farms. I haven't bought bulbs since; just harvest and replant some in October 🥰 I'll be harvesting end of July.
Hi Kelly! I've been watching about the heat in your area for the last few weeks. It's horrible and something I guess you guys are not used to seeing. I'm glad you are enjoying my videos and I guess I am going to get back to making more again from here on out. Thanks for watching and commenting too! I see you guys are getting back to normal temps. again. We were in the upper 90's here today. Hot and very humid here! Take care! -Mark
Hi! Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. I see you just started a new youtube channel. Best of luck to you. Have you seen the orchid display at Longwood Gardens? Thanks for watching and commenting as well! Take care! -Mark
@@marksgardenlife5971 Thanks Mark!! Ya caught the orchid insanity again in April and after being involved with digital imaging/video since the beginning in 1995 I might as well as use my talents again in retirement. I was in LWG back in the 90s..... Good luck to you!!
Hey Mark. Thanks for the Garlic information. I love that you give your produce as gifts. I am a giver also and find great Joy in being able to share with Friends and Family. Cheers! I'm sorry about your beloved pet. I saw your video. Sometimes I just don't know what to say so I don't make it up, but it was a touching tribute. I grew up with German Sheppards and Collies and they were always Friends as well as Protectors.
Hi Billy! Your very welcome! Garlic makes a great gift. I loved Kiera very much and it's very strange around here without her. Thank you for your kind words. Yes, dogs are great. Take care, -Mark
Love the cardinal chirping in background. I wash my garlic because of the sticky heavy clay soil around here in northeast Kansas. I grow German Extra Hardy hardneck (HUGE heads) and Oregon Blue softneck artichoke type.
Great video! ❤️ Garlic makes just about all foods taste even better! I’ve got garlic bulbs growing in my landscape that originated from my grandmothers farm that are probably over 30 years old.
Hey Scott! Thank you! Glad you liked it. I'm a big garlic fan also. I think that's interesting about having garlic that goes back to your grandmother. As always, thanks for watching and commenting too! We have Carolina weather this week! lol Take care! -Mark
Good morning Mark, and the heavy rain has stopped at last leaving us with beautiful sunshine 🌞 l grow soft neck garlic which l get from any supermarket....seems to work OK.What l really like about your videos is that you take the time to explain things properly so thankyou very much for that.Who doesn't love garlic, quite a lot of people l think,me l love it can't get enough ❤ Washing garlic down at the creek sounds amazingly comforting and tranquil. As a child l would spend hours playing in a cool water stream sometimes just watching the trickling water or building a small a very small bridge, little pleasures beautiful memories.I shall be going to the allotment later on to get my hands and everything else muddy lol love it,the peppers and tomatoes are doing very well in the greenhouse as is everything out side onions,Kale, had my first picking of Kale a couple of days ago it was absolutely delicious . Cucumbers, four types of beans, salad stuff, potatoes, peas and so on.Have you got any good recipes for garlic, might you do a video on pickling or chutneys! Have a wonderful week, all the very best 🌱🌱🌱💕🇬🇧Uk
Hello🙋 Interesting video, too bad I don't control English😢😅 You see, I'm Spanish, specifically from "Las Pedroñeras" a town of 7000 inhabitants considered the garlic capital of the world (I don't know if you've heard of it). It has the best purple garlic in the world, so I would not exaggerate if I told you that Las Pedroñeras has the best garlic in the world💪 Here basically everyone has already picked the garlic, ready to go. Clarify a question for me: Why not in California yet? In which month do you sow purple and in which do you start? Is that garlic purple? I can't distinguish it well from the mobile🤔 I have always loved seeing how garlic is also dedicated to other corners of the world💪 California seems to be the best place in the world, it has Los Angeles, Hollywood, the largest film industry in the world and also has garlic. What more could you ask for? haha Greetings from Spain friend😊🇪🇸💪
I thought you said "let me grab my wine" It was 92 here today....I need to go swimming. Lake superior here i come. Once you get the hang of it braiding is so easy
"For me" The best is the purple garlic from Las Pedroñeras, and I'm not saying it because it's from there😂 it's really the best I've ever tasted💪 (and it's considered that way too) I guess there will be purple garlic in California too🤔 Greetings from Spain💪🇪🇸
I forgot to mention that I’m single yet I grow a huge garden every year. I can and pickle and make jelly and I give it away as gifts as well as the extra produce I have. There are very few things in life that make me happy than seeing a smile that my produce brings to people.
Hi Mark Welcome back im soo glad your doing better now :) Great video i love garlic and we also have some growing but not sure what type they are as my dad put them in, just waiting on spring for them to really take off. What would you be planting in that bed next? And have you recently had bad weather there as i have seen the north west has been in an extreme heatwave with temperatures in the 100's and even up to 120 which is extraordinary that far north of the equator. We have had some extreme weather here too with flooding and destructive hurricane like force winds which have caused a lot of tree and house damage and some mountain forests areas to be transformed, we are fine just there is a lot of tree damage on our street. looking forward to more updates on your tomatoes, potatoes, and everything in your garden beds :) Gabriel
Hey Gabriel! Staying busy helps very much! planting next?......actually, I'm not sure yet. lol Probably a fall crop such as broccoli, cabbage, etc. The last 3 days here, the weather has been perfect! In the low 80's, but today we are to get into the low 90's, so a little heat coming back now. I could not imagine experiencing the heat they have had in the western parts of this country. That's just way to hot! Is that type weather unusual for you this time of year? I'm getting ready to dig up the older potato bed, so their will probably be a video coming on that as well as a catch up video on the entire garden. Nice hearing from you! Take care! -Mark
@@marksgardenlife5971 The type of weather here at this time of year is cool to cold with temps in the lower 50's and usually we would get the occasional windy day once per week but that event was almost unheard of it was a crazy June and in summer we get temps in the range of 80 to 95 and sometimes over 105. Broccoli sounds good :) Gabriel
I've been growing garlic for years now. I have found that the hard neck varieties last longer for me. I like Premium Northern White and Siberian. Very large cloves on both.

You could send me one bulb so I can plant. It would be most appreciated .Store bought just doesn’t sprout for me. Thanks for the tips! I have a few growing in my much smaller garden patch!
I don't bother to mulch the leaves in the fall.
I leave whole oak leaves on the surface, the plants push up thru them.

Leaves make a great mulch! Thanks for watching/commenting!
