yes but no. Because it's always the same thing. It's impressive, but repetitive. For B&R there are many "mini games" in fact. batman & robin could be the perfect game on Megadrive, if dev have tested their game before selling it (difficulty is so strong even DIABLO seems a party of Super Mario Bros)
Aside from the challenging difficulty, the amazing artwork etc, The soundtrack itself is composed by the legendary Jesper Kyd! That's right, the guy who composed the music for the first four Hitman games, the Asssassin's Creed games, Darksiders II, Borderlands and State of Decay among others!
Another thing, this game had great sprite work, great use of the Genesis sound board with all the great music and sound effects and balls to the wall difficulty!

My favorite soundtrack to any game ever. Also my favorite Genesis game of all time and the most immersive soundtrack no ost makes the game more than this one. I miss being a kid so bad.
still one of my top 5 video game OST's EVER. like it's sooooo good. Jesper Kyd didn't have to go off like that but I'm thankful cause I absolutely love this game's music.
No doubt this game is in the top 10 of the best games sega megadrive and all the 16-bit generation, than for my snes version that has nothing to do with this, still the snes a platformer and east of a dynamic megadrive game full of non-stop action, with a devilish difficulty. The game's soundtrack is the best thing you could hear in a megadrive, squeeze every chip and every circuit of this great machine.
@Gengonglike Arbukle The Sega Mega Drive/Genesis actually won the 16 bit generation years. It only lost to The Super Nintendo in overall sales and that was because Sega stopped focussing on the MD in favour of the 32 bit generation and Nintendo continued to support the Snes for years afterward.
@@txray3409 the logic is that the Mega Drive/Genesis sold more internationally than any other 16 Bit console from 1988 to mid 1994. From then on the Snes took over and would ultimately sell more overall. The next generation of consoles (32 Bit) technically began in 1995, which is why I said what I did. But most people don't look at it that way they just look at overall numbers, endgame popularity etc. So no need to shake your head :)
@@benjaminbarker6226 The Genesis was out longer, so yeah it took the SNES longer to catch up and surpass it (which actually says more about the SNES popularity than what you want it to say). And no, generations don't simply just 'end' because new systems came out. You have a revisionist way of looking at things because you want to put an artificial limitation to suit your agenda. Congrats, you deserve the 'smh' award. SMH
@@txray3409 Haha, that was a very childish way to end your comment. It would appear I hurt your feelings. I have no problem saying the Snes won the 16 Bit console war back then. I was simply stating that the Mega Drive outsold the Snes every year for more years whilst those consoles were the apex generation. If you can't accept that then you're being a revisionist. Look they're just consoles, so it's all good.
This game... ALL OF MY HATE! I remember playing that first stage with my cousin and we're both thinking "Oh god when is this stage gonna END!" We sucked, so we never saw passed it. But I always love seeing long plays of games from my youth, so it was a shoe-in to get me to watch this.
YES! Another game which stuck with me during my wee days. Also, I am the only one who didn't find this game to be that hard? I mean, me and my brother managed to finish it on the first try when we rented it for a weekend. Needless to say that we kept playing and playing because, damn, this game is fun as hell.
This game is non-stop spectacle, which is awesome but it would have been cool if the game had two sequences, the action stages in the actual game and the detective, stealthy mode where you go in darker areas and find certain details or clues for example getting info on the upcoming boss by finding items or said clues, the music could also accommodate that, in detective scenarios the music could be calmer and slower renditions of the actions stages, then when you're ready you can proceed to the actions stages. It might slow down the game and make it a lot longer but it would also make it more of a Batman game or what a Batman game usual entails.
LMFAO!! Ever notice how Batman at the left upper corner and Robin at the upper right corner look? Looks like they're impersonating Team Fortress 2's Engineer going, "NOPE!" XD
A game that is using a console's full potential???! Games should be made bring quality titles and test hardware limits. This is amazing even in 2019 (soon to be 2020)
Love the game showing the mega drive best pushed to the limit it is a hard game it does have its bad but if you want a challenging contra type shooter this is it one of the best I say
Is it true that this one would have been better than Batman Forever on the Genesis? I like both actually and this one has more stages and far better soundtrack, looks longer too, but of course I have Batman Forever instead, and well seems shorter, harder yet has more "realistic" looks and beware the Big Riddle as the Final Boss! He's just as big as the Kingpin himself! (and HURTS as much!)
Batman Forever is horrendous, not worthy of a playthrough. This game is far better, though it's soundtrack sounds like Batman and Robin Go to the Club (it feels so out of place for a game based on the animated series at the time, which has dark and moody music, unlike this).

I used to play this on the Sega Channel. It was insanely difficult, but that was part of it's charm. They don't make games very difficult anymore. I liked this game a great deal, but I wish that they could have gotten Danny Elfman's score. It was an amazing game. For me the best thing about this game was the level music. Some of the best in any game

Sega users had wars.
This game demonstrates well the difference between SNES and MD.

the snes version of the game is acknowledged more than this one that's why I think that this is underrated
This game is FUCKING AWESOME but the end cut scene where they say emulate instead of emanate gives me douche chills. Random complaint, I know.
This version is wayyyy much better than SNES.
A little better at time but not "wayyy"better
