    "we're having a baby" - this is correct.
    "we're pregant" - no. She's pregnant. Pregnant is a biological state. Stop saying this.

      @Alex Meggoe Are you serious? Did you not watch the video? Women are the ones that have to deal with morning sickness, or all day sickness, the after effects of having a baby for 9 months INSIDE OF YOU. They are the only ones that feel the physical pain. Not men.

      Marta Ramos Yes, that doesn’t they’re not both going to be raising that baby and getting the house ready and taking care of him/her during the night. Women give birth but they are both in it together and supporting each other and this baby so they ARE going through it together

      @Lazy Gamer ...are you kidding??? You're comparing a few moments of feeling helpless with months and months of a woman's body being wracked with pain and discomfort, from ten different directions at a time. I'm not even exaggerating. Like, yeah my husband is affectionate and occasionally tries to ease my discomfort when he sees it but no, he doesn't have to deal with it nonstop 24/7 for nearly a whole year (feels a hella lot longer!). It's physical, mental, emotional exhaustion. And you're expected to function more or less normally, for the most part.

    • @robyn964
      @robyn964 5 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      Alice Liddell And I think your husband would agree that you giving birth to your child and carrying them for 9 months was harder than his role of comforting you, right? Some people are really petty, because if any of these men saying how hard it is for them, actually have kids and wives/partners then they would agree that when when their partner was giving birth to their child she was doing the hard work. I, of course, respect the men who comfort their partner when she’s pregnant but it’s definitely not the same experience.💕♥️

      MewMewYanYanRawrRawr stop trying to be a white night. It takes two to conceive a child and the suffer isn't only one sided. Women have the physical suffering but men have to work the whole time to support the baby and her while also having to deal with a pregnant woman which is mentally suffering as well as tiring. I don't see women paying for their own wedding ring.

      Mary Elizabeth Lees You know, there are theories that fathers to be, men in general, simply like to think so because deep down that elemental force women are provided with is freaking impressive and kinda naturally grants women a certain achievement in life! Men gotta go out and... I don't know, fell a tree, take a bungee jumping course, buy a go-kart, take part in a beer drinking competition... to show off, reinsure themselves of whatever something that makes them up as a man! Otherwise, the only comparable burden men would be favws with in life would be turning bald! 😀 Therefore, though I, too, find that overused saying *_We_*_ are pregnant_ so stupid and very much prefer _We are having a baby_ , I'm very sure it is a product of our new, liberal age and society in which husbands in general take a much more active, hopefully equalized, part in not just the making but the raising (and targeted, the carrying) of a child. Let's say the motivation is what counts! 😀

    "We're having a baby"- fine, both can say it "We're pregnant" ha no, *she's* pregnant. I'm not just saying this coz I feel that it takes away from the woman's efforts, like having a weight in their stomach for 9 months, having morning sickness, being (unwillingly) emotionally and physically tired/drained etc, but also because it's not biologically possible for *both* parents to be carrying the child.

      Um, women generally have nothing to do with men getting vasectomies. We're talking about OUR CHILD growing inside this woman's belly. We don't get a say in much during the pregnant. Wait. My bad, according to Mila here, we don't get ANY SAY in anything. We can't even have pride in knowing that we're going to be a father. Ladies, if you want a man to stick around and be a father to your child, give him some pride and power.

    • @Kazesai
      @Kazesai 9 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      oh but it is sadly, and its because none of them know any of this:
      Pregnancy is a very dangerous time for cis-women. Until cis-men are capable of nine months of pain without the ability to take painkillers, followed by hours of one of the most painful experiences a human can undergo, I agree with Mila Kunis. It is your child. Not your pregnancy. You don’t get a fucking medal for sticking your dick inside someone and impregnating them, you get a child. So no, you don’t need a fucking spotlight highlighting your months of work and pain and the fact that you can potentially die trying to bring life into the world when you have not undergone any of the physical effort.
      Things you can expect during pregnancy: Anemia, urinary tract infections, constipation, mental health conditions including intense depression, hyperemesis gravidarm (basically when persistent vomiting is more than just morning sickness and requires hospitalization). Not to mention there are dozens of infections that can cause serious problems. (x) (x)
      Oh and the fact that 20% of pregnancies end in miscarriages which obviously requires hospitalization for the pregnant woman and causes a lot of emotional trauma.
      Or that you can’t consume alcohol, most types of fish, you can’t expose yourself to hot water (or any heat, really), or get an x-ray. You cannot eat lunch meats, raw sprouts (radishes, alfalfa, etc.), soft cheeses, anything unpasteurized is out, as are foods with raw or undercooked eggs. And caffeine can lead to miscarriages, so say goodbye to coffee, teas, and chocolate. (x) (x) (x)
      About 2 million pregnancy losses occur annually in the U.S.; 6 million babies are born. 25% of pregnancies are lost.
      14.5% of pregnant women will experience at least one pregnancy complication.
      11% of women are diagnosed with post partum depression.
      (x)
      800 women die because of pregnancy-related problems in the U.S. annually. (x)
      Labor can last for 36 hours or more. You’re in a room full of strangers, who are all seeing your vagina, your blood, your shit, your piss, and your agony. It’s common for tearing to occur during the delivery (x) and after the baby is born you still have to deliver the placenta (essentially an organ).
      Pregnancy is terrifying, dangerous, and uncomfortable. None of you have the right to shit on Mila Kunis for telling the truth: You do not deserve the spotlight of your wife’s pregnancy. So get over yourselves. Yes, the father CAN be proud, and he should be. But it’s not his pregnancy. He is not the one who will endure it.
      It is not weird that someone would want to be involved in their wife’s pregnancy. It is weird that you have the fucking nerve to lose respect for someone reminding you that the father is not the pregnant one in the picture.
      So please, stop.

      Kazesai and the unneeded seriousness continues. The way the video is presented seems to me like a joke to long for its own good. There is a life track for crying out loud. The comment wars are unneeded.
      And about the whole "we are pregnant" thing it seems like such a little thing to harp over. I agree that is incorrect for a male to say"we are pregnant" but I mean I wouldn't scold/punish him for it.... it's the equivalent of saying "I won" when on a team of people. Either way it is said the same message is being brought across.

    The saying is "we're having a baby", because yes, as a family, you are having a baby. "We're pregnant" implies you will both go through 10-24 hours (or more) of labour where which the events that occur are similar to squeezing a football through a straw. If the father of an unborn child wishes to argue this point with the child's hormonal, over-eating mother who just dealt with yet another wave of morning sickness, I suggest he uses his X-box as a shield.

      firewireo just because she doesn't speak about it doesn't mean it didn't happen. The mother STILL went through lots of pain in her pregnancy and birth. Its not like it never happened. Why do guys even say "we're pregnant." like I understand "we're having a baby" since the guy did the making the baby part with the woman but THE MAN ISN'T PREGNANT. Is the baby in his body? Is he having morning sickness? Is he pushing the baby out of a vagina? No. He is not pregnant so dont say incorrect sentences

Because no, no you're not. Your wife/girlfriend/female counterpart is. It's really not that big of a deal, but it definitely bothers me to hear that because the woman is pregnant and while the man will help in whatever way he can, she's cooking the baby, not him. They are expecting though. It's just as easy to say, "We're having a baby."

      Actually "having a baby", means to become a parent. You are thinking of "giving birth". There is a difference. "We are having a baby" is a perfectly suitable phrase for both the man and the woman. The phrase used to be "we're expecting", but colloquially was shortened to "we're pregnant". It's easier to say and sounds less "formal", this was adopted into the casual lexicon. I don't know why women have a problem with this. They sure like to be all "me me me" about pregnancy, well, at least until they want money. I highly recommend all females to ENCOURAGE the team mentality in their male partners, rather than try to worry so much about being self-absorbed and attention-seeking. Perhaps we will then see a decrease in deadbeat dads. I know a lot of young women who pulled this "I'm the one who's pregnant, blah blah blah" crap, and guess where they are now? Collecting food stamps and child support payments. Just be careful what you wish for is all.

      The problem with any pregnant woman taking an issue with that statement is that it's slang. It's not supposed to be taken so literally. It's slang, "We're going to have a baby together." Of course you'd have to be a bit dull to ACTUALLY believe that the man is pregnant, that's why it's called a figure of speech. And no, she didn't have a right to call me annoying and that women deserve my money for 'putting up with me' just because she didn't have an intelligent response. And ***** I never said that, you did though.

So you can call it your money, and when she leaves, you'll have a lot less of it. But then you'll have YOUR house and YOUR car and YOUR money all to yourself.

Oh wait, no, just realised its not a mans fault that he can't get pregnant, but he can show support to his wife and show that even though he doesn't have to carry it around with him he still cares and still sees it as his responsibility too. So yeah, if these 'butt hurt' comments are creating more feminists like you, we should fucking throw our computers out the window, we don't want any more man haters thanks.

    for all the guys pissing and moaning about this, how about this, the term " we are having a baby." is CORRECT to the REAL men who are actually their for the women they have knocked up, yes if you are doing all those things for your wife/gf/partner, you DESERVE to have credit, saying " we having a baby" is correct, but " we're pregnant." I don't think is because like Mila and a lot of the women saying on here, you are NOT carrying the child or giving birth, only mothers can be pregnant. I think that distinction should be made more often, so everybody wins.... and btw guys, do YOU get stretch marks, have severe blood loss, risk being paralyzed or even DIE while holding your wife's hand in the delivery room? and yeah, if you have to endure running to the store, getting stuff for them, foot massages, etc... um who do you THINK put them in that position in the first place, either you weren't using protection, your protection wasn't enough, or you PLANNED it, in that case, you knew what you were getting into from day one. and you also don't have to suffer the physical ramifications of giving birth years after, be as emotionally supportive as you want, you still don't know what it FEELS like when it comes down to it.
    and this is coming from someone who has a kid but didn't birth him, my amazing partner did, so I too have taken to the role of what a lot of you guys went through, we had a baby together, but I never had the nerve to say WE'RE PREGNANT....

    All these butthurt guys here in the comments. I get that you do a lot for the woman carrying your child, but at the end of the day, it's her who has to put up with the pain of carrying and delivering, her who has to go through body changes, her who has to face the aftermath of her body once she's delivered, her who has to deal with the hormones changing, her who has to deal with cravings, her who has to deal with morning sickness and scent sensitivity, and her who has to deal with the fact that she will be away from her job, something she potentially loves the most about her day-to-day life.
    I'm not, nor have I ever been, pregnant, but I do know that us women tend to conceal a lot of what we're feeling. She's going through a lot, and you're just there for support she can find elsewhere.

      Manny Akintunde I'm saying that the father of the child, while he does have to put up with his SO, doesn't have to actually carry a baby or deliver it, thus _she_ is pregnant not _the two of us/them_. Of course he's responsible to the child and the child is half his, but he isn't the pregnant one and shouldn't claim "we are pregnant" when she has to carry and deliver by herself.

    • @queenofthorns6746
      @queenofthorns6746 8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      +Manny Akintunde No, he doesn't have the same responsibility to the child because he is not the one carrying it for 9 months and birthing it.

      Wow, what a mean thing to say. Christ. Pretty sure that a supportive partner isn't something you can just buy at a store.
      For some people, sharing the experience of pregnancy is more important than trying to take credit for pure biological changes that men can't possibly experience.

  • @tokyoqueen6738

    I'm not pregnant, but I can understand why some women get so annoyed when they hear a man say, "we're pregnant."
    Now to be fair, the man is there supporting the woman and the baby, and he does play a huge role.
    However, from a scientific point of view, it's totally different. Men cannot get pregnant, cannot carry a fetus for nine months, and cannot give birth. So, for those reasons, I personally don't believe it's accurate for a man to say, "we're pregnant."

    • @SalvableRuin
      @SalvableRuin 9 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      TokyoQueen I didn't know MEN said it. I thought couples said it. As a man, it pisses me off to hear men AND women say "we're pregnant"

    • @tokyoqueen6738
      @tokyoqueen6738 9 ปีที่แล้ว +40

      뿡뿡! ^__^
      I find it annoying because, yes, the man did help create it. Yes, he too has a responsibility as a father. I don't think it should be forgotten that men (most) do play an active roll in the lives of their children.
      But, he's not the one whose body is going through major changes. He's not the one who is carrying it, and he is not the one who gives birth to it.
      So, even though I'm not pregnant, whenever I've heard a man say it (and I've heard them say it) that he and his wife or girlfriend is pregnant, I'm just like "really? you're going to carrying it for nine months and give birth to it right along side her?"

      I understand the woman's frustration but i also understand why some men want to say it like that. And i believe it's because he wants to proudly say he's responsible for her pregnancy but say it in a way that's not weird or awkward. I believe they should just say something like "we have a baby on the way" or "we're going to be parents soon".

    • @tokyoqueen6738
      @tokyoqueen6738 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think you make an interesting point. It does make sense that a man, who is genuinely happy with that fact that he's going to be a father soon, wants to say that he did have a hand in the pregnancy, which he did, as it does, as many people say, take two to tango. I also agree that it might be better to say, "we have a baby on the way," or "we're going to be parents soon." Definitely a less awkward way to say it. He's not the one who is pregnant, sure, but he IS going to be a father, they DO have a baby on the way and they are BOTH going to be parents.

    It's so funny how some men trying to say something against the video :-)
    Trying to take a credit?? Women get pregnant, give birth in excruciating pain and not men.
    Start up a life creation it takes two, continue the process of creation - takes one (a woman). Women would always be the more significant ones in life creation then men. That's just a nature of it.
    And ***** try getting hit in the nuts over and over again for 10 - 20 hours. ;-) That is the pain, mate.
    As to your statement, women keep having more then 1 child, because we embrace the experience and the pain, because creating a life and having a child is worth all the suffering.
    Some men understand it, however some, as I can see here - don't.

No this hasn't to do with the wrong example the mother gives to her child. This is about turning on and off different genes in the baby.
      Also, promoting the idiotic behavior to fill yourself with trash food during pregnancy with a celebrity on television....sounds like a recipe for disaster.

    "We're having a baby": a correct term because in the families where the man actually stays and helps the woman, they're both taking the responsibility to raise the child. In this sense, I will never understand radical women that ignore the contribution of responsible fathers. They also go through a lot of hardships and their lives also change radically. My own father has been in my life my entire life and he has been one of the most amazing teachers ever, and his presence has been and still is a blessing. Now, the phrase "we're pregnant" is incorrect. My father has always been at my side and I love him, but I wasn't inside his belly nor I came out through his vagina, nor his body changed in every possible way.

      "having a child or young developing in the uterus"
      "full of meaning; significant or suggestive"
      Firstly, hardly anyone uses pregnant in that context. At all. Secondly, while I know it is your own opinion, even Webster lists "having a baby or babies developing inside the body" as the first definition. When you say "we're pregnant," you have two different definitions going at the same time and that doesn't really work, especially since, as previously stated, most people don't see that definition at least right away.
