The Edward W. Bok Technical High School was a public high school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, designed by Irwin Catharine and named after Edward William Bok. It was completed in February 1938 by the Public Works Administration (WPA) as a vocational high school at 8th & Mifflin Streets. As part of the Philadelphia Public Schools' Multiple Property Submission, the school was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in December, 1986. Bok High School was reorganized in 2006-2007 to prepare students for jobs in modern technology. After the 2012-2013 school year, the school was closed.

My Pops went to BOK in the early 60's. I remember him telling me how the racial tensions were high in that school. He told me a couple stories how he was kicking some ass. Good days

I AGREE HUMAN RIGHTS SHOULD HAVE been the objective, instead of CIVIL RIGHTS.
    CIVILITY & TOLERANCE
won't change BLACK AMERICANS MOVEMENT within the country, if OUR HUMANITY ISN'T IN LAW. AS IT STANDS, we're CONSIDERED CITIZENS. And treated LIKE PROPERTY. STILL IMO✌

this was a fascinating mix of people! they all wanted peace for everyone, which they preach upon their circles of influence to not rise up in arms in offense all the same. i saw a group of the same essential principles yet a varied background, and they nearly all had personal involvement in the discussed event which gave it a raw edge that was palpable between them all, the strife and righteous anger mixed with such acceptance of others and communal passion for all to thrive beyond the tension

all in all, a great find! i hope this sort of show is still done in places, cuz these days we need it! I even considered the proposition that someone like myself come on a show to be token white guy of sorts so that we can hash out all the conversations that usually result in resentment and tension even between people not associated with an event, but identify with a group involved do to similar experiences or stories of them fueling their biases and reactions. psychology blows my mind btw!
