These are things we miss when are outside India. When I was in London, we went for office party and it was kind of Welcome party to me. But at the end i was paying for myself in my own party lol. I found it really offensive but this is the culture they have. But when London team members come to India we never allow them to pay, and they get really impressed and equally shocked 😲
They all go to there relatives....enjoy food.....and nothing from their side
We might call it hospitality. But it's not hospitality, it is classism. There in Germany people largely believe and follow equality. No employee or boss, no high class or low class. Waiters, Labours, Receivers, and every other people and professions are treated with proper respect, that we don't get to see in India. A waiter is always seen as lower and inferior to a person visiting the hotel. Why should that be a thing. We can carry our own bags, why do we need to expect someone to carry our luggage unless he/she is our own assistant.

Even though I am living in India but I carry my luggage while doing check-in, i do shopping on weekdays to avoid Sunday's rush, I like to spend time with nature. Germany is perfect place for me 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

summary - you can do anything in india without being formal but in germany you have to even take appointments to meet relatives...i think their rules are far better than ours...some people think that germany is full of seriousness and india is totally opposite but if you think unbiasedly then because of these kinds of rules germany is the most preferred country after usa
I am an Indian…my family never visits any relative without informing…hw do we knw whether dey r busy wit other schedules.India is no more a village. People work and seldom b home…if at all they are home, they might hv plans with parents and siblings, we cn nt disrupt it

I was not born in India and I can relate to everything you are saying. The hardest thing for me to digest was when an Indian friend if mine said the word servant. I couldn't digest the fact that in today's time a house help is still called servant.

Also in India I don't have to carry cash but when I visited Germany then there was no concept of online payments...etc.... 😂😂😂😂
Germany is very backward in innovative payments thy still use fax!!
It's a cultural thing. Europeans prefer to deal with cash more. It kind of helps them keep a track. This mentality stems from their post World War economic hardship. Same as Japan where usage is cash is huge and widespread. On the other hand in China, it is mostly digital. Hardly anyone use cash.
As an Indian I also prefer cash 😂
