    A picture is worth a thousand words! That was excellent! I must refresh my memory on how to tie a perfect knot you can pull on to tighten. Thanks for the expertise!

      It’s commonly referred to as a truckers hitch. It’s a loop in the line at the end, and then tie another on the line with the running end about 3 ft back from the end. Run the line thru both and pull tight. Takes some practice but it works well. Thanks for watching.

    Easy money right there! Nicely done, and the fact you used a piece of scrap...even better!

    What brand of Heat? flame thrower are you using ? Where does a person get the shrink wrap?

    Do you need vents? Also in the snow belt, would you ever use an extra support on seat? Nice video.

    How to measure the size of the wrap ? also it doesn't show where you tide the tape you wrap around TIA

    • @mwiehl69
      @mwiehl69  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you can measure rail to rail and add about one foot at the tallest point..eg the handle bars. there is no tape as the belly band string i run around is under the splash guards in the stern and thru the bow eye at the front hope this helps

    great video, i was also thinking about using the bow hook as a strapping point, when you wrap 2 skis on a double trailer do you wrap it as 1 unit ? so many do , bad idea, all types of animals can get up inside and do some damage to seats and other parts of the skis making a nice and dry winter nest thanks for the video

      Thank you for the comments. Yes I do sometimes wrap two together but that is a owners call but I do agree with you wrapping both separately is a better call more work but better call. Yes I go right thru the bow eye or even the strap hook eye. As long as you get something to hold it in place.

      @@mwiehl69 thanks for the reply, on my question / comment . are you usally using a 12 ft or wider roll for average skis,

    • @mwiehl69
      @mwiehl69  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The smallest roll I normally have is 24’ wide. 32-36’ wide is really the best cost wise you can do 3 skis with a 12-14 long piece cut 3 times. 👍 but whatever works.

    Thanks for the video! If u don’t mind me asking, what do you charge for wrapping a Jet Ski?

    • @ccjetsports
      @ccjetsports 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here on Cape Cod, MA it's typically $20 per foot PWC's are 12' so it goes for $240

    • @mwiehl69
      @mwiehl69  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was about 10’ x 24’

    • @ccjetsports

      14' x 9' will do most skis

    where did you get the material to shrink wrap and can a basic heat gun work?
    Nice job a video,

    • @mwiehl69
      @mwiehl69  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can order from marine supply and you could use a touch from roll roofing.

    • @ccjetsports
      @ccjetsports 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Regular electric heat gun will work but it'll take longer. I noticed you can't buy small pieces and am considering putting together a kit. Let me know if you're interested

    Why not use 14ft wide wrap and go side to side it's easier to open and you use less footage of wrap side to side is only ten feet instead of 15 ft length wise.and if you pull your belly strap tighter and go down behind the bunks by jet pump it will cover the pump and won't have the rainbow on the sides where it will protect the side graphics.

    • @mwiehl69
      @mwiehl69  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Excellent comment. This was done with scrap. As a quick demo. But yes you are correct. Also if you are doing multiple skis you can split a 36’ and get 3 at a time.

    That would have been a nice job had you installed a vent... No vents = removing the shrink wrap in the spring and finding your vessel is full of mold and mildew....

      sorry my friend one of my first. make a cut at the bow where the tie down is for the trailer. slide it thru there to hold it in place. I hope this helps
