A suggestion if it's ok? Take two bolts and machine them to screw one inside the other, fix with thread lock, that way the pivot bolt will look the same from both sides, Ie. Lose the nut to one side. Great work and love Ash's ability to design on the hoof, fantastic!
Getting ready to do something similar to mine. Glad this vid came out. Was wondering how to handle this and now a have a great starting point. Thanks guys
There are rules to restoration.... correct and proper to original. In this case... there are no rules for.... customization.... It's a matter of interpretation of the builder. He's not building it to please me... but his vision. When I build my Triton.... I kept it old school British and avoided modern components such as a disc brake... ... keeping the Amals Vs Mikuni's.... I did use electronic ignition...... to mount the engine to the frame with the plates... I used shoulders bolts... not treaded rods... rods not as strong as bolts.... cut off the head of the bolts to size.... die-thread cut the end...... and used acorn nuts on both ends... much nicer visually to the eye. Of course, being a 750cc paint shaker lots of red loc-tite... !
I dunno. I think the original seat would be so much better. Which is not to detract in any way from the superlative skills of your man adapting that modern seat.

Good luck!
...Or as an after thought, take a piece of tube and tap a thread inside it , then bolt from either side for the pivot.
more than one way to skin a rabbit, I would just have extended the con rod in the same style, speed holes etc.
