- “Two of Twelve”
I have been mesmerized by the work of late Johann Johansson, whom I think would be the most creative and cinematic composer of our generation if he didn’t leave us so early. Unfortunately I only have his old work to study, his most intriguing one to me is his Arrival Soundtrack. I was so captivated by his “One of Twelve” theme I wanted to reconstruct it, which is how I understand things. Although my recreation is nowhere near as moody with my terrible string plugins, it’s my way of paying homage. I hope I didn’t butcher it too much, the dynamics aren’t as masterfully implemented but maybe some people will still appreciate it. If you want to know the gold standard of cinematic moody soundtracks, he is one of the greatest.
