Torb is a more viable pick than Sombra even though I made a video on playing Sombra throughout season fiveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
@Francis, that was obviously a sassy remark from Freedo -.- He didn't actually say that Torb is a better pick than Sombra (because Torb on attack is actually not that great, unless you can aim really well with his gun and have your team work around you with shields or positioning to get your turret in place). Payload maps work semi-okay for him, but others generally are just crap.
That being said, yeah, Freedo did seem salty halfway through this video

He's probably saying it because of what pro players do. But not everyone is a pro player, so sombra works differently in lower ranks. Sombra is absolutely dps, and puts out a huge amount of damage with an amazing initiating ult.
I love how freedo also says "don't just pick up sombra and expect to do well" as he picks up sombra and immediately tells every sombra main that they are playing her wrong...
Ultimateafs knowledge doesn't have to come from ur personal experience. When almost every pro team uses her as a support (except when She's used spesifically to counter dva), u don't need 300 hours of Sombra experience to tell someone they're playing something wrong

I 1v1 with sombra and I win more than I lose for example hack a road hog and start shooting. Now you don't have to worry about hook and you can strife and shoot and you usually win unless you get dp'd

Like, he did a Mercy video and gave the player nothing but a stream of bad ideas. He'd tell her to hide in a building with an enemy in it, prioritize healing some shit DPS over the dying tanks, and gave conflicting advice about when to rez. Guy clearly has

Freedo has openly stated in the past that his mechanics are not that good for his rank. It's why he likes (or liked, idk if he does anymore) to play Reaper.

I m Sombrero main too and I was told she s support like everytime I picked her in comp last week, cos yeah they saw one vid about sombra and played her like 2hours in qp, ofc they know how I supposed to play, better than me with 50+ lol.

no thats not what im saying your ow says she is a support you help out your team more then u get kills when your a support and most of the time if a zenyatta went against a dps he (most of the time) would lose because he is a support not meant for those situations sombra is she can trans locate back to safety or use it to initiate a fight and she can survive those situations unlike zen

I know codey would never make a video like this calling someone out (he barely bothers to answer when people ask questions about how to play sombra.
I'm not really comparing the two. I just find worstsombra more enjoyable than i do Cody. Doesn't mean Cody is bad or anything and i still enjoy watching cody from time to time. I just prefer worstsombra thats it.

in one of the dev update things j.kaplan did get asked "why is symettra a support", answer was "its mainly for players new to the game to get a general idea of how that character plays, we could change her to offense but its not that important"

Try looking at the comp...They have 2 healers + a sombra. If he really thought she fills a support slot then they would have had 3 supports in his eyes and he should have gone something else.
I'm sure he believes you should run Lucio as the solo healer with a Sombra, as the pros do, but since no one was switching he should have or should have stfu

See, that's the thing with Hybrid characters (in Overwatch, but also like, in all games)... they cover both or more aspects than a Hero that's specialized in a single aspect would.
Sombra's a support the way Soldier's a support because part of their kit has some minor healing elements to it that could accidentally heal teammates - OR purposefully, with communication. Sombra's a support the way Widowmaker's a support because she can provide information, while killing (or damaging) squishy targets.
All the Heroes have aspects that could help them cover something else usually held by another character without having to be re-tagged as a different role.

Actually no. Sombra's gun has much more sever fall off. It also deals low damage per shot, which makes it even worse with the spread, since each shot is much less rewarding. It does have a huge clip at least though...
8 damge a shot 60 bullets 160 dps. sombra's damage is exactly the same from point blank to 15-18 meters. Sombra damage relies in aim. If you cant aim for shit you're better off on soldier who is more forgiving with his shots

While their maximum damage output is roughly the same, some big differences: Soldiers fares better against armor, his spread isn't crazy and even offers three free very accurate shots when he first fires. While tanks might be large enough to hit with sombra's sporadic spread, the squishier targets are harder to hit. Even if shooting them and getting in headshots, you are not going to be able to hit all the bullets unless at an extremely close encounter. Next her falloff damage is worse. She also doesn't get a 120 helix rocket to fire every 8 seconds.
unlike soldier sombra has the ability to get as close as she needs to be and get out safely. think about it a character turning invisible turning up behind you and killing you faster than you could react thats just not fair, thats the way sombra was originally designed, even if they increase her bullet damage by 2 the results would still be huge
