On another note, at many points in this interview, I felt like I had a deep understanding of what Mac was trying to say even when he was struggling to find the right words/phrasing. I knew what he was trying to say, but wasn't sure how I would express it either.

Absolutely, that's what sucks about the industry. So many immensely talented and unique artists don't get the publicity and hype they deserve while many who aren't talented or passionate get so much attention. I always find these types of interviews very frustrating to listen to. You can tell Mac wanted to be really honest and thorough with his responses here and because of which he took his time to speak, but these interviewers are constantly chiming in with stupid "funny" comments as if the audience isn't here to listen to what the artist is trying to communicate. Watch the CLIQUE interviews, they are much more tolerable and elaborate and feel more like real conversations.

I always find these types of interviews very frustrating to listen to. You can tell Mac wanted to be really honest and thorough with his responses here and because of which he took his time to speak, but these interviewers are constantly chiming in with stupid "funny" comments as if the audience isn't here to listen to what the artist is trying to communicate. Watch the CLIQUE interviews, they are much more tolerable and elaborate and feel more like real conversations.
