We have to see what Tyler Huntley can do against good teams, but he looked impressive to say the least. I would even almost want to start him next year to see how he does against someone like Buffalo. I would have them both split games - Tua and Tyler. Miami has to decide whether Tua is can be reliable. Tyler, played like a veteran! Let's be honest, he looked and passed the ball like Patrick and Deshawn. I mean he looked natural and decisive! I have not seen this regularly from Tua. Again, he passed the ball really well! This is what will most likely happen, another team picks him up as a starter! I think Tua may never get the Dolphins to the next level, plain and simple!!!

Could just be my perception. Just when you empathized how the timing of the passing game is so much better with Tua, it seemed to be a backhanded criticism of Huntley who has not had the time and reps in the offense. So, why state the obvious unless in someway you mean to diminish what Huntley had accomplished?

@ because some people will find any opportunity to take praise of another player as a diminishment of the starter so i just intended to emphasize that the passing game didn’t operate to the same degree as it would have with Tua but it was still a great job by Snoop on all fronts - which was why I also went out of my way to praise him for *not* being a chaos merchant and executing what he was asked.

I was expecting a lower scoring defensive type game, but wow. This was a bad football game to watch. I think the saying goes "A sight for sore eyes". 6-3 at halftime and I felt we were lucky to have the lead. Huntley played smart, efficient and made plays when it looked like nothing was there. Didn't quite understand Achane barely playing in the 2h. I didn't mind seeing Mostert and Wilson getting change of pace snaps, but Achane is a weapon in the passing game. Especially without Waddle. I felt like we coulda used him more in that area, but we ultimately didn't need him in the end. I don't think we should start thinking about the playoffs, tho. Not only do we need the Chiefs to beat Denver with their backups, in Denver, but it doesn't sound like the team is optimistic about Tua playing next week. I know the Jets don't look good, and might be checked out, but they aren't the Browns. I will say, at least we have something to play for going into the final week. Whatever happens, happens. @chrisriggins2087 I'm not against him doing that at all. If he does it and he's successful, great for him and the Fins! I just think at this point it's crazy not to have a backup plan given his track record. I have no idea who they should draft based on their draft position, but I think they need to identify someone that might have the skills they feel are necessary to flourish in a Mike McDaniel system and they may need a year to develop under Tua, but then be ready to take over the position if the team ever decides to or are forced to move on from Tua.

    Kyle,
Mike McDaniels - Hasn’t lost the locker room. That’s the good part.
He had terrible play calls - and made a bad challenge - really bad.
The team has shown more ability to address accountability this season - baby steps. Long, Barrett, Skylar, OBJ - they’ve gotten rid of folks (mostly) that weren’t contributing to team success.
MM has taken steps - but not enough. The play calls are too complex and if only 1 QB can run it (and Huntley - a veteran - can’t run it better than a C- by the end of the season), it’s not useful.
If you can’t run for 1 yard in crunch time after crunch time, you’ve constructed your offensive line incorrectly. Grier shopped for what MM wanted, as you’ve said.
Huntley did as good a job of running a flawed offense - but the architect of the offensive system doesn’t take steps to use the offensive line that the system has delivered. If you don’t trust them to get that yard, then you’re admitting the flaw and I’d have asked about that.

I will say. There are alot of teams that have trouble converting short yardage situations. I watch the Bengals, Jets, Texans, Dallas, and a whole bunch of other bad teams that struggle like we do. A good oline is rare in the NFL. There's about 6 or 7 teams that have quality olines. 10 teams have average olines and the rest are bad.

@@Ballaholic17 Correct. I guess we didn’t say we were “all in” like Dallas! But we had a better line last year - and when we lost a very good guard, a very good center - we plugged in Eichenberg. Jones is average at best. Eichenberg was and is a player who can’t win at the point of attack - and really has never done that. Jackson was always a decent to good run blocker. When you’ve got a good center (Brewer) flanked by bad players, you are lost as well. Just a lost year, I feel. Huntley had good runs because he didn’t depend on the O-line to do shit except get in the way of the Cleveland defensive line as they were chasing him.

  • @yitwailu2
    @yitwailu2 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

Listening to Kyle you’d think Tua could have played. So for anyone who hasn’t seen or heard McDaniel’s explanation for going with Huntley, here it is:
“You see the injury is a little worse and try to forecast how things will heal... based on the previous week’s forecast. We were hoping and anticipating for a timeline similar to that. As the week progressed, we didn’t seem the improvement we [expected].
“Ultimately he absolutely wanted to play. Wasn’t a pain tolerance thing. He not only was super susceptible to a much more significant injury, but a major factor was the lack of strength due to the injury and his inability to protect himself and his teammates within the pocket doing the things he normally has to do. From a medical perspective, it was not an option for him to play.”
Hard to criticize the decision when they won, and if Tua doesn’t improve next week, then putting Tua in just to prove he’s as tough as Allen, Roethlisberger, or the other QB Kyle mentioned doesn’t do anything for the team’s chances, unless Tua is healthy enough to perform at a winning level, in my opinion.

If he can't play. Then mark him out. Don't wait until the day before to rule him out. If he's hurt, then he can play. If he's injured, then he can't, but most players are playing hurt this time of year. Especially when your whole season rides on you winning.

Football is won consistently, over the corse of a season and then the playoffs, at the line of scrimmage, unfortunately we have a GM that has no clue about that and as long as he is here, no pass blocking, no run blocking and the defensive line is not much better. No depth at all, few teams go a season without losing starters on the line, but nope, nope, nope, no investing in the line, just scrap heap players and horrible drafting. Razzel dazzle makes for highlights against crappy teams but it won't trick everyone. If Tua had time to pass, he could pick apart anyone, and an average run game could make Tua top five every year. It won't happen, just like the way this team wasted the Marino years with no running or defense, they are going down the same path with wasting the Tua years.
The Dolphins general manager, needs a manager.

It's funny. My preseason division winners were
      Buffalo- ✅️
      Baltimore- ✅️
      K.C - ✅️
      Houston - ✅️
      Philly- ✅️
      Tampa- ✅️
      Rams- ✅️
      Packers- incorrect
I picked all of those teams because I thought they had the best qbs in their divisions.

Guy, stop you're smarter than this. You think Tua doesn't want to be on the damn field? If you doubt his desire to be on that field, then you don't know what you're talking about in terms of who Tua is as a competitor. I like your show and I think you have a high IQ when it comes to Talking Football and maybe other things as well but you seem to imply as you talk about other QB'S that has played with injuries as though this was Tua's call when it wasn't. I know Tua would've played if he was allowed to but Mike McDaniels smartly decided based upon Tua not being able to use his hip to gennerate power to throw the football as well as maneuver in the pocket to buy it a little bit of extra time to get the ball out, plus avoid more injuries for not just this year but beyond. We're talking about A QB that they've just guaranteed a lot of money to. I believe what Tua showed in practice was that he wasn't going to be able to do those things so Mike McDaniel smartly decided to say hey I got to go with this guy Huntley because he gives us the best chance to win versus an injured Tua that doesn't have enough mobility or strenght to do his job. I know that Mike McDaniel trust Tua over any quarterback on this roster, including Huntley, but because of what he saw in practice leading up to this game, he knew that they would not have the type of success necessary to win against Cleveland and they're pass rush with an inmobile Tua. You got to know that, and it turned out to be the correct call by McDaniel.

Tua is a competitor....but we need a winner. The Lombardi trophy is not meant to be an honorable mention for trying really hard.

When you say something that's a figment of your own imagination, you lose my respect. How can you say that a coach is lying to you when you have no evidence to support that. I'm really exhausted with all of you microphone coaches.

A little too late season has been over from day one. And tua should be trade. Period.

I already knew Huntley would be a good backup quarterback 3 years ago, so I asked this question: Why didn't you know that. Why wouldn't you understand that he will be a better quarterback in this game. You guys think you know what you're talking about, but you really don't.
