    Dany is using a Kemper Profiler Stage, plus an expression pedal. The Profiler Stage looks more like a Multi FX unit but it is a full profiler minus the Power amp. In Dany’s case it goes straight into the Desk from there it goes into the PA, in certain cases her signal is split and a slight delay added to make a “bigger” sound. As I said before, her original setup was done using Dave Bendeth’s amps because they were what was used in the studio recording on the previous album, all of the FX was added at the same time so that the live sound was the same as the studio album sound, it was done to save Dany a lot of time setting things up; each part of every song is split up on the Kemper so that she can switch back and forth between the parts as necessary.
    I don’t know what they have done this time but I would expect them to have done the same with this album.

    That's danys kemper . if you watch her gear breakdown, the kemper , an expression pedal, and wireless antennas are all mounted to an angled base. She runs everything from there. Can't likes to hear and feel her guitar onstage. So her orange cabinet uses a pedal baby 100. That's just off the top of my head. Her gear masters ep. 471 has the details. Also goes over her main guitars, including the ones gifted to her by Lzzy Hale, and one from Matt Bellamy of Muse.
    Its a really fun watch. 😀

    They have such a classic Rock sound and now I think I understand a bit better why they always sound so excellent. Only understanding "a bit better" is down to my lack of experience, not your clear explanantions! Thanks for this.

      So something like Hendrix's Voodoo Chile from about 30s in (that heavier bit), QOTSA Go With The Flow, Muse's Plug In Baby are all (as far as I know) 'fuzz' tones. Quite a bit of variety, but has that snarly thickness. Hopefully that clears up one aspect at least! Cheers mate, my pleasure

      @@JbfMusicGuitar QOTSA and Muse are not bands that I've enjoyed much...not sure why but they never clicked for me...Jimi on the other hand, especially Voodoo Chile, I totally get! For me, that tone is Zeppelin 'bringing the thunder' or Neil Young's 'Weld' sound.

    These are the most recent Gear videos from The Warning, they are about a year old so they do not have Dany's Baritone Guitars or Ale's Blue Base. Ale is using a different Amp and Cabinet in the gear video.

    The Warning are the poster kids of 'keep it simple'.
    You don't have to get super complicated if you play it well, and play it with heart. Having big personalities on stage doesn't hurt either.
    Surprised you didn't mention Dany's inverted mic holder. (another example of keeping it simple) With it upside down it's easier to remove and return the mic to the stand.

    • @JbfMusicGuitar
      @JbfMusicGuitar  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I didn't even clock that about the mic clip, well spotted!

    They have done 3 videos with the TH-cam channel Digital Tour Bus where they show their live rig rundown, so I would be really interested if you would be wiling to react to those and give us some of your insights as a musician.
    Ale sometimes uses a pick, but she also often plays finger style.
    If I remember correctly Dany is using her Kemper to split the guitar into left and right channel and putting a small delay in one channel.

    • @JbfMusicGuitar
      @JbfMusicGuitar  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, another kind person in the comments sent me links to those, which I've copied on to my never ending document! Really keen to have a closer look at their rigs.
      That would make a lot of sense with the panning I as hearing, I'll listen out for it in other live videos

    I tried tuning my Stratocaster with 9-42 strings down to A to play this when it first came out. Not happening. 🙂 Strings were slack and unplayable. Went to a couple TH-cam videos to learn about Baritone setups, and many of them were using 13-72 gauge or something similar. But also, some mentioned digitally tuning down with an effect? Bottom line from a couple of the baritone tutorial videos is that they're great for heavy down-tuned riffing on metal rhythm parts, but not much else. Thanks for the breakdown.

    • @JbfMusicGuitar
      @JbfMusicGuitar  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, it just becomes mush at some point on a regular guitar!
      Aye, you can tune down digitally, but then you really only want to hear the processed sound. If you can still hear the strings acoustically you'll hear both pitches and it's (for me anyway) impossible to play! The tone isn't quite the same if you pitch shift either.
      That's a pretty good summary, I've seen a couple of more Indie rock guys use them, but I think you've hit the nail on the head for 99% of users!
      Cheers dude, really glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the insights!
