I've just started to listen to Melechesh. i have rly been surprised when i first head them, the Vocal is so brutal! and as i see, other ppl have also noticed the drummer :P ahahah, so funny..
i saw them live 4 days ago and i have to say that this drummer is reeeeaaallyyyyy good!!! probably in this video he wasn't in a good day!and it's 3-4 years ago....
It's beautiful to see people moving back and forth, headbanging and swaying to these oriental/desert rythms, something that smartphones killed! The crowd reminds me a bit of those glorious times and audiences from the 90s, think about Sepultura in Eindhoven back in the 90s, and again Dynamo fest 97: Dimmu Borgir, and Death 98!!
Nah, smartphones didn't kill that! At least, the show's I've been to recently, people were headbanging, moshing, and dancing (I wasn't because I was too busy watching the band and enjoying the music in my standing-still-and-listening kind of way - what can I say, I was raised in a very boring Protestant culture :P ) ... and nary a smartphone in sight :)
thossi09 I see what you mean, yet i still believe that the new devices of communication killed a part of that 80s/90s spirit, back in the day only one or two out of 1000 people could manage to get a camera recorder, let alone sneaking a huge VHS camera inside the concert place to record a video bootleg...Today a lot of metal fans rise their Iphones up in the air to capture a footage, they look like a fuckin jay-z crowd ))) I don't think religion has anything to do with it, i understand/guess that you were sarcastic and joking when you talked about coming from a "boring protestant culture" and how it could affect you... I'm from a muslim culture, and it had zero effect on me when i was headbanging during Kreator's enemy of god tour back in 2005, here in Casablanca, Morocco. A few months ago i did attend a mtal fest (again here in Casablanca) I did my prayer in the afternoon, took the tramway and rushed to see the death metal legends Loudblast, again i was headbanging like a maniac... So, no matter the religious or political background, music goes beyond all boundaries, and wether it's metal, jazz, funk, pop, gnawa, classical music, when you are hooked then there's no escape
anahowana Ah, I see. Well, for what it's worth, I don't miss that very much ... poor-quality bootlegs weren't that great :P . At least these modern devices can give some better quality when they're uploaded to TH-cam :) Only semi-joking with the religion thing ... it's the first reason I can think of when foreign reporters (talking about some big band's show back home in Iceland) describe the crowd as "it's like they're in church at a funeral, they're so reserved and motionless". "So, no matter the religious or political background, music goes beyond all boundaries" ... AMEN! And hearing about a metalfest in Casablanca only makes me even more interested in getting over there (Rick's "Café Américain" is still open, right? :P) ... if I'll ever be able to afford it (and the extra-strong sun-protection :) )!
you are kinda right with your smartphone statement but in metal its very unusual to "smartphone" at the concert. Maybe on much bigger concerts but at small stuff its not. And Max Cavaleras Bands STILL bring the madness of a 90s Sepultura Concert. Max is just insane haha instead of Sepultura
@Chaanee I saw them live three times by now, and I must say that they've become way better than as shown on this video, nothing to worry about anymore!
@666MetalNeverDies666 the drummer had some problems with his gear (triggers, microphones etc.) if you watch the clip more exactly, you'll see that the dude plays really good and his blast beat is permanent.
PartySan has only ONE (1) stage, alright? And ah..the weather was kinda sucky - rainy and cold. PartySan 2007 was the muddiest festival i've EVER been at.
@YTisMyPlaylist I can't name many new bands that are still fully black metal but like you said, nobody gives a shit. I think it's a good thing the genre is evolving and Melechesh are one of the best new bands
This is the studio drummer? I mean, it is a pretty damn fast blast...with no real breaks in between it...so I guess I'm a little surprised he can't pull it off...or at least keep it broken up in even time, lol.
@lordbertoo yep kinda sounds like that, but honestly i don´t think they have that kind of influence in any way since we in this part of the world are the only ones who HAVE TO hear that shit
@666unnamedfreak666 No, only stupid. :D At 3:08 you can see Cthulhu himself! *ROFL* Killerband! And one of the best Songs EVER! All Hail Melechesh! \m/

I've just started to listen to Melechesh. i have rly been surprised when i first head them, the Vocal is so brutal!

anahowana not really...it's great if you missed the show and have some dude uploaded it on youtube...
you are kinda right with your smartphone statement but in metal its very unusual to "smartphone" at the concert. Maybe on much bigger concerts but at small stuff its not. And Max Cavaleras Bands STILL bring the madness of a 90s Sepultura Concert. Max is just insane haha
instead of Sepultura
Melechesh's melodies are like some sort of controlled chaos, fuckin epic. See you in Finland 23.02 -11 !
Realy good song!!!
Greetings from Brazil ! -000
@ily2brittanypena
Melechesh is touring in America in early 2011.
@homelessathome I noticed that, saw them live on Summerbreeze and were just playing perfectly in there!
Saw them live 2 days ago... it was FUCKIN' GREAT!
@Chaanee I saw them live three times by now, and I must say that they've become way better than as shown on this video, nothing to worry about anymore!

@666MetalNeverDies666
the drummer had some problems with his gear (triggers, microphones etc.) if you watch the clip more exactly, you'll see that the dude plays really good and his blast beat is permanent.
une cascade de technique et de vitesse ils sont enorme:')
@MetalHeadMarc Proscriptor from Absu was their drummer for a while. But since he's back to his own thing...
@ily2brittanypena
They are coming to the US this winter
This band completely f**king rules.
Epic oriental eargasm!
01:49 I love those twins xD
if you guys are done comparing, lets listen to music.
PartySan has only ONE (1) stage, alright? And ah..the weather was kinda sucky - rainy and cold. PartySan 2007 was the muddiest festival i've EVER been at.
עדיין זוכר את ההופעות מחיפה 1996
@ily2brittanypena lol They're touring with Rotting Christ, and Abigail Williams..... in the USA this coming March
@YTisMyPlaylist I can't name many new bands that are still fully black metal but like you said, nobody gives a shit. I think it's a good thing the genre is evolving and Melechesh are one of the best new bands
Cool reggaeton rhythm :P
@ily2brittanypena They to Amewrica last year! at Maryland Fest!
mud or not, i'd go abroad for bands like this.
אששששש עליכם
increiblemente poderosa esta banda...me recuerda a ABSU.
for such a big festival there is an amazing boring audience for such a great band ^^
their arabic sound kicks ass!!!
Amazing performance! Sounds like on CD.
@ily2brittanypena its arabian drum beat bro , the ones who starts at 1:50
2:33 awesome =)
regueton tupa tupa tu pa tupa tu
aww ashmedi and his boy moloch
killing machines!
muy buena banda; yeah assyrian black thrash atack man (!)

شكرا جزيلا للرد. لكن اشوري يعني من العراق حاليا؟!
Fucking Love this Song...
Gosh i love this band.
Sadly I dont think it was the drummer's day. :(
but great show!
@bloodyblade
Dark Funeral is great, but I like Melechesh a lot more.
agreed, they should get Proscriptor back.
Middle eastern drumming and african drumming are quite similar, i would know, my parents are Congolese.
i agree Melechesh more then vader!
ashmedi is amazing singer and in the same time he is good guitarist!
lol yeah this song owns all on the album, but something went horribly wrong here...probably bad monitors and no one could hear each other.
I listen to shit like dark funeral which slays this shat.
He reminds me on Alex Webster from Canibal Corpse
I love Kawn's Growls.
They compensate for the drummer.
Amazing fuckin' band.
1:50 Fail
2:23 Fuck yeah!
Primordial, i guess.
Lol the guy at 3:07 :D:D
yeah, I'm not nuts over the vocals, but they're still a good band, and the riffs are killer.
@scarface1216 100% it's primordial. i own the festival dvd.
Sir Proscriptor McGovern on Drums?
Absolutely not, he's Xul!
Oh, thanks, I thought He is still with Melechesh
RiccardoTheBeAst Oh, thanks, I thought He is still with Melechesh
Proscriptor helped found this band!!
i lol'd at 1:52 ... they looked dead O.o
it's just too fast for him.
You can clearly hear him skipping few bits on snare.
the guy wrote this song actually :D
@bloodyblade Me to but this is cool too you know.
2:27 varg vikernes
بالله سؤال: هوة اشميدي لو احمدي؟ ومن اين اصله الحقيقي؟!
@bloodyblade well, this music has tempo variations, oriental elements, killer riffs... dark funeral is just more generic black metal.
7:23 PARTY SAN !... WHAT THE FUCK !
Alan xD
The drummer is totally out of sync...
@666unnamedfreak666
No, only stupid. :D
At 3:08 you can see Cthulhu himself! *ROFL*
Killerband! And one of the best Songs EVER! All Hail Melechesh! \m/
you mean Marcel? yeah he was fucking great at PSOA.
Love this song, but the drummer seems to be having trouble with some of the blasts, haha. But it's cool.
اشميدي يا فاجر D:
@bloodyblade
my congrats.
@666MetalNeverDies666 Sounds like he started them off too fast
@IqbalShoobi ive changed my opinion now so whatever. and why would i get my head ripped off?
1:50 :DDDD
From what I can see, the crowd is really thin to the edges. They are most likely not on the main stage. Which can suck for bands like this.
how cooler can a song get ? not much more ;)
I love this band and this is my favorite song, but damn if i first heard this live i dont think id have any interest in them.
