    Some of these comments sadden me. One day in heaven all the non believers will know the truth. I thank God every day that I am a Roman Catholic. I'm also thankful I live near OLG Seminary and get to go there every Sunday for vespers. May our Lord bless these holy men, and Our Lady watch over them! Please keep them all in your prayers!

    Would really be considering joining this order in the future, once I can properly discern about my vocation. If they still won't establish a seminary in my country, I guess I'll have to make the sacrifice of going to the nearest country that has it.

    May I ask why the priests vestments are held up at certain times in the mass? Thank you.

    • @phillweely2108
      @phillweely2108 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      because in the past, the priest's vestments were very heavy during the Mass so he had to be assisted when he held up the Host during the elevation. Today his chausible is held up to continue that tradition.

    Are FSSP members allowed to say the Novus Ordo Mass? Do they concelebrate the extraordinary rite or just have one priest?

    • @connecticutyankee9706
      @connecticutyankee9706 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      john riordan There is no concelebration in the Extraordinary Form. When there are more priests present, they are allowed to participate differently by attending the Mass “in choir”. They do this by being seated in the sanctuary; they may also assist in the distribution of Communion. However, only one priest actually says the Mass. As to using the ordinary form, the founding documents of the FSSP stipulate they were formed to distribute all the sacraments according to the liturgical books of 1962 exclusively.

      The novus ordo mass was invented by a mason, monsignor Bugnini, so he was excommunicated. We cannot participate in this mass.

    I Recommend my vids taken from the Amsterdam based Church of St. Agnes (Agneskerk) served bij the priestly fraternity of St. Peter (Fr. M. Knudsen and Fr. A. Komorowski), here you see the FSSP (in full communion with the Pope) at work in a number of full tridentine masses (and a few excerpts). Off course the sermon and the reading of the gospel is in our native Dutch tongue, the rest is Latin.
    Adr: Amstelveenseweg 161 Amsterdam (Oud Zuid), near Haarlemmermeerstation (tramline 16 from CS)

    FSSP,
    I'm so happy to see many young men becoming Priest and got in societs as FSSP and SSPX, to restore Tradtional. The majority of young Catholics like Traditional Latin Mass, the one that are fighting the Traditional Catholic Movement are the baby bomers and what is left of World War 2 generation went along with New Mass.

    You know,
    I always founded the Catholic priesthood very fascinating and interesting and truth to be told, I almost wanted to become a Catholic priest but I felt a different calling that God had for me and that was becoming a Knight of Columbus and evangelizing the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary and having a healthy relationship with a girlfriend that I care about.

    • @MissaMelodica
      @MissaMelodica 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The lord calls us to either the vocation of marriage or priesthood. But having a girlfriend is not the ultimate vocation. Having a girlfriend is to discern if you are called to marriage with this individual.

    @umaara100 Peace be with you. A standard form had to be designed to fit all circumstances. In desserts, water is a comodity, so just pouring a little bit would suffice, next, when you have 5000 people in line, you can do it faster, if the person is sick, cannot be submerged, etc. Hope it helps.

    Indeed, the seminarians, priests, all of us, must learn to be quiet, to appreciate silence amidst the noise of the world. So that we may evangelize the word better.

    • @kevinphillips150
      @kevinphillips150 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 'Word' does not need to be evangalized better but more understood by its reader. The Latin Mass has been around for centuries and will continue until the end of time. What continues to need to be changed is the philosophy of religion.

    @Mario145932 By your logic, the Bible was not created by the Holy Spirit because it was men that wrote the pages and not the Spirit Himself. Consequently, Mary has no influence on our salvation because Jesus Christ saves us, despite His love and consideration to the prayers of His mother and response to them. St. Louis is saying this not to say Mary saves us, but is saying that without her prayers to Christ, we have little hope.

  • @dennis345
    @dennis345 14 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @darkwinter76 So Gabriel is an idolator? HE said it. I repeat: idolatry is worship of images. Your objection is totally different--asking saints in heaven to intercede for us. They are part of the body of Christ, and it is as proper to ask the mother of Christ to pray for us as it is to ask one's own mother. True worship is reserved for the triune God. And yes, you don't know what idolatry is. "Lost in lies"? Silly man. Just because you don't understand doesn't mean i'm a liar.

  • @SmartWarthog
    @SmartWarthog 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Mario145932 you obviously have not payed attention to me. Did you read the article I pointed out? Be careful, you might be living a protestantized faith.
    Don't believe me, but believe Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort, who said "devotion to Our Most Blessed Virgin is necessary for salvation, and that it is an infallible mark of reprobation to have no esteem or love for that Holy Virgin."
    God bless you!

  • @dennis345
    @dennis345 14 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @darkwinter76 Idolatry is defined as the "worship of idols." The mere existence of a statues or icons--typical of Catholic & Orthodox places of worship--isn't evidence of idolatry. No one's worshiping statues. They are simply there to focus the mind on the one who is being prayed to. I have a picture of my late mother behind me. But I don't worship her or her picture. I went to this seminary for 3 years, and I know there's no more idolatry there than in any primitive baptist church.

    @darkwinter76 The Blessed Mother is the humblest of all creatures. She didn't go around saying "I'm sinless!" or "I don't need a savior!" You're also committing the error of "sola scriptura." You ask "where in the bible...?" when it was clearly stated by the apostles themselves that Jesus did and said many other things that if they wrote it down, the world can't contain all the books that describes them. (John 21:25).

And this is on TH-cam, who's standards are way below average. Very very sad sir. You definitely gave the atheists more credibility. Oh wait... That would mean they had at least some in the first place. My mistake.

      No wonder God punishes us !!! every time the priest come out for Mass they have on the front of their chasuble Egyptian symbol of the ankh what does the Egyptian Ankh has to do with the Catholic faith ? To shove a life-sized Ankh in the face of God at the beginning of mass is a mortal sin it is worshipping the Ankh as the Egyptian do. This Means the priest is a heretic and God does not hear the prayers of a heretic. It means the mass is invalid. He is going before God at the beginning of mass with the top circle of the Anika over his head. No priest in the Catholic church ever had an Egyptian Ankh over his head on his chasuble before mass in the 1800s. There is absolutely no reason or cause to have that Egyptian symbol on the chasuble of a Catholic priest for mass. The traditional priests wear it on there chasuble the Vatican two priests where the crows foot the Buster bird symbol which is involved in witchcraft The Witches Stang it's also a ruin old ancient German language which has its meaning and origin with witchcraft.
      No wonder God doesn't hear our prayer I am so sick of seeing our priests wear Pagan symbols on holy sacred vestments I am really fed up with it. It is a mortal sin and it is a heresy which brings with it an excommunication and once people know about this and still go to mass with the priest wearing it everyone is excommunicated I'm totally Fed Up
