Awesome figure and review, *Neny*! ^_^ I love the little details like his broken tooth, his lip ring and that bone hand (or is that a skeletal facehuger?) on his hip and, like you said, the paint looks amazing. When I saw this character on the big screen back when the movie first came out, I used to wonder what the story was on how he got the old gun that he gave to Danny Glover. Looking at the the beads and doodads all over this guy, I think he might've got the gun (and accessories) from Jack Sparrow. haha! Seriously though, awesome review and hope you're doing well, man! ^_^
I knew you'd like it! You're right on the posing...i mean you could do dynamic poses, but it just won't fit the character. You lit the figure quite nice so that the eye sockets got very dark and menacing! Thanks for the shout by the way. :)
Great review bro definitely pre-ordered this the first release pictures on sideshow :-) I agree something is missing in the face to give him a more menacing look but I'll take what I can get especially this is my first elder.

Superb assessment, as ever. About the headsculpt vs the NECA one. I love the expression that Hot Toy's have given this Elder Predator. At the end of Predator 2, the Elder Predator looks at Harrigan in a quizzical fashion, with a hint of admiration, like he has been entertained. It's as if he is happy with his lot, that he's been there, done that & has got the skulls. He's just chilling. The Elder Predator, at least to me, looked menacing because of its giant stature and natural looks, & not because of its expression. I think that Hot Toys have captured this perfectly in this figure, which I think is among their very best and is certainly their most underrated, IMO.
Got that Neca Elder.. and 6 other quarter scale Necas... one on Preorder now.. the new Neca quarter scale 'Big Chap'... looks absolutely amazing!!!.. 😎
Hey Neny, I think you are right about the jaw line being short, its because they used the city hunter as a template. Remember the pictures of the first version of the 2.0 elder? Anyway, great review, enjoy all of your predator reviews
This guy is surprisingly not sold out at Sideshows website lol.And he's on sale,i think i might order him,i have the NECA 1/4 Elder,but he's one of the best figures i think,so i'd like to get the Hot Toys too.

he looks bloody beautiful! and congrats! but they didn't add brown any straps to the other forearm armor as in proto pictures but still can not wait for this beast

Nice review Neny, still waiting for mine, should have arrived yesterday! Agree with you that it's the best HT's predator to date that's for sure, details are amazing and the only fault I see on it is there needs to be some white around the eyes and the top mandables need to be slightly more pinched or the bottom extended! I don't really rate the NECA sculpt at all, doesn't remind me of the P2 character while this new hot toys one does! Anyways enjoy him buddy, catch you later :)
Hey Neny, Nice repaint on the Neca 1/4 ELder! Is that one worth getting, or does it require so much re-work that it is not really worth it. I have the SS 1/5 scale ex Elder statue and that one has crazy detail too, but the face sculpt is not as good as the Neca one I think.
chocotastic1 hey bro....honestly.....if you have the skills to repaint the Neca Elder....get him....the sculpt is spot on and for $ 80 you cant go wrong but if you dont have the skills and would have to have someone repaint it for you with pro skills and charge you at least $ 150-200 ....then it's not worth it

all good bro...i'm doing great but i have completely dropped out of the figure&statue collecting scene. I still have all my Predator lifesize pieces but i will sonner or later sell my entire collection coz i really dont feel it anymore. I guess after 30 years in the scene (yes my man i've been collecting and painting statues since the late 80's and early 90's) i just lost the interest and attraction. I still follow some FB groups and watching from the sideline whats happening but im not active anymore. I have tons of good memories throughout my collecting time of the last 30 years and some unforgettable moments and of course some dear friends i've met along the journey and for this im grateful and happy but like said, after 30 years the fire is out

I hope you reconsider and keep what you have. Because of you many of us own Hot Toys Predators....Dutch......John Matrix....TechNoir T-800. Do you ever forsee Hot Toys re-releasing Predators or offering 3.0 versions? Ahahahaha many newbies collecting complaing Hot Toys releasing 2.0 versions these days they don't understand this has already been done many times over. I have the Neca 1/4 Predator masked version on Pre-order......can't wait. One never knows perhaps the fire 🔥 will reignite with the man the myth the legend, Neny Dee. All the 2.0's are superior to any others.. imo... i only need AvP Elder ..then will have them all... only original i have is the Predalien.. which is great but suffers from loose loints... he was still worth getting though at $300 Australian dollars... 😎

Hot toys forgot 1 main feature that's y I never bought it they forgot to put the fking led lazer on the cannon the only predator with this bad hot toys fix it !!
You were right about the older edition, but surprisingly this figure is now fairIy ubiquitous and can be had for less than the original retail price. Wonder why It hasn't been all that popular as It's one of the best figures.

Neca ones are good for the money but they aren't for a serious pred fan. This hot toys is crazy good!!!

I sold it 2012. I saw what looked like the elder on the hot toys site and I sold the one I had. I did the same with my Darth Vader fig.
I sold the one I had for 1000.00.
