Great post! Thank you so much! But thanx Heaven's Michael Kiske ended up recording the song "Angel". (PS: Kotipelto is a demigod to me. 100% respect for him)
Not every band can boast having a demo size of a whole album, which is also only marginally worse than their other output. Awesome stuff. By the way, "Born Upon The Cross" is a nod towards Dio's "Strange Highways".
I really enjoyed this demo album. Better that it never went to studio anyway since they always make their albums with an overproduced, sterile sound. This sounds more organic and raw. Should be released on CD as is.
I think that the lost song from the sessions may be Icarus. Sounds like the classic Stratovarius hymns, those 7-minute, long-running and orchestrated hymns. In a way, it reminds me of songs from the Elements era. With that pomposity, melodies and orchestrated sounds so characteristic. Dance of the Death Star it's a song without Tolkki when shortly after it was announced that Revolution Renaissance was breaking up, this song appeared on the official website. Guitars are recorded by Santtu Lehtiniemi. And Loneliness of a 1000 Years it's more related to Timo's book, of the same name and that, he had already been writing since the time of Hymn To Life... and after his health problems before breaking up with Stratovarius. This one sounds very different and is closer to his solo works or earlier Strato times.
Seria um ótimo álbum oficial do stratovarius!! Mas términos devem acontecer, teve várias outras músicas muito sensacionais depois dessas, mas a alma do stratovarius está definitivamente aí!
I think of this album could be one of the best of Strato. So sad, I miss you Tolkki, so, so much, the band is not the same. But Ey, in the last album they sound pretty good.
Opinion: It's a pity Last Night on Earth had those totally random demo lyrics as I love everything else in the song! The mix, the drums, and the astonishing solo from Timo Tolkki. But I still can't take that demo serious enough.
This is not bad, but it's true that Polaris was better. Forever Is Today for example is one of my favorite songs :) Maybe the other 2 albums from R.R can compete with Polaris, "Let It Rain" from Trinity, what a song!.
Gonzalo Ferrer Brito I was gonna say a similar thing. I loved their self stratovarius' self titled album, but it also seemed a little too not stratovarius. This album wouldn't have worked under the strato banner. It's too subdued to work well with kotipelto's voice as well as it does with kiske. At least polaris is there..
I think best albums are with tolkki... Not be a very great composition, but I love his armonies and melodies. I think that Kupiainen is an excelent guitar player, but Timo Tolkki is the head of this great band called stratovarius
His voice actually changed many years after this recording, they changed in 2011. Consider these are demos so they don't need vocals to be in their best shape
@@oslamphoenix9871 I see. Hes the only power metal singer I know that has a noticeable voice change. BTW we had a conversation the other day about "glory of the world" being played live, so I asked Tolkki in the Rat Salad Review interviews and he said they played it live many times. Do we take his word on it? I dont believe him completely xD
I don’t know if you still respond to comments but if I may ask how did you get this? I would love to find a CD version of this somehow but I can’t find one anywhere. This Stratovarius version is better than the Revolution Renaissance one in my opinion.
This is actually a really easy to find piece of media, there's been a lot of download links from many forums and people keep uploading them, but the thing is, there's no CD version, as far as I know. I think there's a picture of a disk on metallum but that's the only small hint of a CD version out there. The leyend says that once Stratovarius disbanded in 2008, they dropped these demos on their official website for a while, from then on, people reuploaded them.

This is better than Polaris, I really don´t like Polaris, for me the only good songs on Polaris is just Forever is Today, Higher we go and blind. The rest I think is very bad
IMO Polaris it's forgiven as it's their first album without the leader. Pretty much their first own album (as Tolkki made 70% of the work). I also think Polaris is not that good but it was necesary in order for Stratovarius to continue without Tolkki and make Elysium, Nemesis and Eternal
You really should correct the title and content of this video. Revolution Renaissance have nothing else to do with Stratovarius than Timo Tolkki (whose solo project this is) is a former member of Stratovarius! Other players or the singers in the album have not even ever been members of Stratovarius.
Every single demo of this video have been played by Jorg, Jens, Lauri, and both Timo K. and Timo Tolkki between 2006 and 2007, aka Stratovarius, as this album was meant to be theirs. Then the members disbanded and Tolkki decided to create the band Revolution Renaissance.
@@oslamphoenix9871 So?? None of them plays on this cd. It eventually was released as a Timo T's solo project and with other players . I'm so sorry if I know the drummer and one of the singers from this album and I have owned it from the day it was released.
@@sidiys I think you're confusing the final 2008 CD release from the 2006 demos. These 2006 demos were recorded by Stratovarius, and it's pretty clear that this is Timo Kotipelto's voice throughout this video's songs. Of course the final 2008 New Era release was then performed by other members that weren't in Strato except Timo Tolkki, who owns the song rights. If this demo album is not enough proof, I also added in the description a video from their official channel that dates from 2006 where you can see Jörg playing the drums for Born Upon the Cross, and the R...R... project title. th-cam.com/video/mzRRPL0qAOg/w-d-xo.html

Revolution renaissance:
When the sun's setting down
All the answers must found
Many people can fare with the lonely
And the campers will stay
Many tens they will play
On the mountain of the lost and the lonely
If there's a will, there is a way
I find the pressure rather mean unless its day
Just look the eye up to the sky
And see the mystery is calling so low
Waiting for sun
Waiting for moon, it is close
Praying for fun
Sailing away it is true...

I have walked this lonely road
A thousand years, it's paved with bitter tears
I have swam across the sea
Just to find a way back home
I have been everywhere
I have seen what I should not seen
Still I'm here on this road
Just to find where i belong
In my soul, in my heart
Weariness tears apart
Still i walk on this road
So my friends...keep the flame alive
Eden is burning:
Where is the conscience of the world?
Where is the answer to the bird?
And i see hideaway
And its here to stay
But where is the conscience of the world?
Man against another man I see
Whole creation aiming seamlessly
And will we learn to give?
Will we learn to live?
Cause we are the conscience of the world
What if we turn around?
Eden is burning
What if we make the sound?
Eden is burning
Is there another way?
Eden is burning
The price is too high to pay
Eden is burning
