You yourself said you wouldn’t have the job you have now if you didn’t vlog. You got on people’s radar including mine because of vlogging. It opened so many doors for you.
Another positive about vlogging I see is you were able to document people’s most transformative experiences of their lives including mine. I treasure that video you made for me.
Beau
Cody, I always enjoy your energy and encouragement. I think I found your channel right around the end of your year long vlog.
The only time I was able to stick to a daily vlog was a trip to new York in 2021. I know it was because I was so excited to be there and in the moment that I wasn’t distracted or self-conscious. Last December I tried Vlogmas- it lasted exactly one day! 🤣
Man i remember watching one of those videos you made back in 2018. It motivated me so much to pick up the camera and start creating.
yeassss
I never missed an episode when you were vlogging Cody! You definitely know how to motivate people. I think you’re one of the best vloggers of all time! 😎✌️👍
ah man thank you!.
I vlogged for a month straight, in part inspired by you and that was really hard. It was also before I had kids so I'm always so impressed that you were able to keep it up that long. Like you said, I sure appreciated how it would get me up and out of the house!
What do you say Cody, should we get back to it?
👀
2018 was an incredible year for creativity for a lot of people. I definitely feel nostalgic for that time. Vlogs are probably also some of the most fun ways to achieve a lot of creative goals for video!
Cody, I'm definitely feeling the day by day tension of trying to shoot daily but also the excitement of that,
I'm shooting 30 shorts for the entire month of June and if I forget to shoot a short and its getting to my self imposed deadline it's like an itch in my brain that I can only scratch by creating...
Love your content Cody
✌️
Wow!! Was it 2018?! Dang! Time flies!
I'm not a daily vlogger but can still totally relate to all these pro's & con's! The biggest one for me is it not being 'polished'...sometimes you just gotta roll with the situation you've got! Thanks as always for the inspo 🐱
Love this video Cody. Like so many of your work. It was nice also to read through some comments. I feel the same way as a lot of other people do. That’s nice. You’re such an inspiring human being and you always get me to the point where I want to try to daily vlog myself. Now again. Perhaps I will. I realise that I’m the only person standing in my way to try it. Also, watching a video of yours after not being here for a while really feels like coming back to a good friend. Really cool. 🙏😎 Wish you a great day.
2018 was an awesome year, you rocked it.Enjoyed getting to know you in a sense through those videos. Some great learnings for others here.
so glad to have gotten to know you because of them!
@@RCodyWannerthanks man.
I was on vacation and seem to have missed a few vids, time to binge them. 😂
I also feel like a daily vlog for a creative is the ultimate way to build discipline. Even if you didn't post the videos but you went thru the motions of picking up the camera everyday, filming, editing, etc. that would go a long way (especially a beginner) to learn and work on multiple facets of filmmaking.
that is the thing i forgot to put on the pro list -- how INTENSELY well you learn your gear and your editing system -- my camera became an extension of my body in 2018, and editing was as effortless as typing an email
@@RCodyWanner I put my gear down for quite some time, and I think doing a daily vlog would help get me to that position. Loved the video and insight from someone who's been there & done it.
It has always caught my attention to do it... what if we challenge ourselves to do it?
Sounds like the cons are temporary and the pros are forever.
What is your camera/lens setup here? Looks so good
this is a sony a7iv with a tamron 17-28 2.8 on it!
I have thought about doing it for 30 days but then the commitment seems overwhelming. Would love to do it to just document my kids, wife, etc.
YES
@BrianTheCameraGuy do it bro I've been shooting 30 shorts for 30 days and it's been hell but the creativity it has sparked in me I've already got three thumbnails lined up for my first long form content,
30 days is a safe goal to set yourself like me I chose to shoot for the whole of June which keeps me right re deadlines etc
I could never daily vlog (though now I'm considering it, damn you!) but if I don't set myself ridiculous deadlines I just don't do things, and then I feel rubbish. So yay deadlines!
the deadlines have to FEEL very very real to me though -- if it's too low stakes or feels pretend, doesn't help.
@@RCodyWanner Same here yep. Aren't we wonderfully weird!
@Penfriendrocks wonderfully!
I like the filming and have a lot of random clips of my life. The editing on an old computer is hell 😅
ooopfh feel that -- can suck the fun right out of it
4:57 😢😢ANY 1 UNIT TO JUST STORE EVERY VLOG ON EASY 123???
I was happy for you that you finished the commitment you made to yourself to daily vlog for a year. That was epic and your growth in your craft was insane!
But I'm not going to lie… I legit grieved for a second when it was over. I felt like my next-door neighbor moved away. 🥹
I know… I know… I sound like a creeper! 😂
I appreciate you and love the vibes you put out into the world. ✌️
