I’ve applied what Doug’s been talking about and I’m starting to see progress in terms of seeing different bird species visit my yard and I’m getting more species of caterpillars since I’ve allowed black cherry seedlings to grow as well as White oaks I’ve planted from acorns.
@@mantis2938 I'm looking forward to this growing season I am implementing Doug's knowledge to my own backyard as well as spreading the word to anyone I know that will listen. Even those who aren't even aware just as I was a few months ago.
I"m from Ohio and have done the same. First step was to remove the invasives and within the next growing season natives began to come up. Luckily my property already has many large white swamp oaks so there was already quite a bit of diversity, however my wife and I have noted many new species of butterfly and insects just by removing non natives.
