I was working on a drawing and it took a turn and suddenly I felt lost. I closed my ipad and went to do something else, but then I thought... I'll go watch Calvin's video with the penguins again. I ended up clicking on this one instead because I loved the thumbnail. After watching it, I went back to my drawing and looked at it in terms of main color, then textures, then shading/highlights, then details and became so clear what I wanted to do next. Then I was off and having a great time again. Wow, what a difference you make. Thank you :)

thank you so much, your comment made my day 🥰 I feel that way too. I have a theory that I lose confidence in my own abilities, and this leads me to sort of drawing and painting random stuff I don't like. Eventually this can drain all my creative energy basically just painting nothing in particular. Using a clear method or a system really helps me get out of it because I'm more likely to paint something I'm proud of when I have a reliable process to follow. I know a lot of artists who are totally driven by feeling and intuition, but I just don't have that and I really love systems and step by step methods.

😊😊😊 I was thinking about this last night. Procreate has a lot of really nice scratchy/ charcoal brushes that create a an interesting effect

Thank you so much! This is a great Idea. I could make a longer and less edited 'sketch with me' type of video. What do you think?

I usually start videos and stop them because I just can’t keep attention. Your tutorials are magical, I watch everything till the end. I hope you will bring to the channel more landscapes (easy ones😜). Love from Italy 🥰

I really enjoyed this tutorial, loved how you explained your sketching process too. I loved it and watched and rewatched to get my lion and “I’m very happy with” it !! Thank you for always drawing new techniques… I’m a better artist every week because of you.

Hi Calvin, I love your tutorials. Thank you so much. Where can I find the line work for this tutorial? I don’t see it in the description.
